Those rehabs don't look good. I loved taking food outside on the promenade to eat but if it becomes a bar atmosphere I won't be doing that anymore. And depending on where it is it will be just outside the bar/lounge inside. This is obviously catering to the convention crowd -- something that has kept people away from this resort for so long. I hope it doesn't get as bad as it could but I'll have towait and see. We will be there April 26th thru 29th so at least part of this will be done while we are there.

* Laguna Bar being constructed in outside promenade from now thru 4/28/07

* Francisco's - 4/16 - 10/12 - Being expanded to include the Jumping Beans Arcade space - When open it will be a bar, lounge and cafe (La Tienda convenience store will be relocated as part of this refurbishment)

* Panchito's Gift Shop - 5/28 - 6/29 - Will remain open while undergoing modifications

Does this mean that La Tienda convenience store will be closed during those dates?

It doesn't say but my guess would be no. They probably won't close it until it is actually moved. They can build the new one with disturbing the current location.

No room requests are guaranteed but I've received my requests 7 out of 8 trips to CSR.

Not sure if the bar is closing completely during the rehab so if you are planning on spending lots of time at Francisco's, this could impact your stay, otherwise no so much. The outside area is boarded up. Also, the Jumping Bean arcade is closed in the main building but the Iguana arcade at the pool is open.

This will be our second trip there. We did Ranchos 7B.. We requested Cabanas 8A this time.

What are your dates? I have been trying to get CSR for my trip with no luck..it is available JUST for my first 2 nights (which aren't free dining) then nothing from the 26th to the 2nd I am pretty much bumming over this as I vowed this was my last stop resort, meaning I wouldn't stay anywhere else (unless I buy into DVC but thats another story!).

I am hoping rooms open up on Thursday (my mother was booking as a gift on her DV today but I decided against it due to mixed statements about having to pay balance with the DV). So here is to hoping I can get CSR afterall!

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to say that I booked free dining today for CSR Sept 5th-15th! We were originally going to stay at CSR, but then got the 40% code at AKL...but there have been some unexpected expenses that have come up since booking AKL...so we're back to CSR and I couldn't be happier!

DH thinks we aren't doing the trip at all!! Little does he know I've been saving for over 6 months and will be able to pay off the trip without impacting any other expenses within the next two months! I'm so excited to surprise him!!
