I saw "QS" and read "Quick Serve". Either I need some coffee or I spend way too much time thinking about dining options. :rotfl:

You just forced a t-shirt change here!! Quick Service BED!! :lmao: Actually dropped my glass of water! Shows where my mind is today :rolleyes1

I am also pretty picky about my coffee. I have traveled with a mini electric kettle and a mini French press. On our last trip we stayed at POR where they had the new Cuisinart coffee makers. I was able to find a pretty good coffee pod before I left, and packed that instead of the kettle and French press. I got Community coffee with chicory which we like in the New Orleans area. It worked out well. I did use bottled water. I think that the water makes a huge difference in taste.

Thanks for the reminder about the bottled water. I've become really sensitive to the differing tastes of water and can tell when my coffee at home is made with the filtered water or the tap water. Don't want to try this with Florida water - nasty stuff that it is...:scared:

Can anyone put my mind at ease? I've read a few people commenting online that the air con in CBR rooms is really loud. Now I expect to be able to hear it and find I get used to it over the stay and actually miss the noise when I get home (live in Scotland, no need for air con!) however some comments suggest it's so loud people have asked to change resorts. Is it that bad??

I'll second the earplugs. I wear them at home too because DH generally uses a white noise maker and that just keeps me awake.

I thought I had quoted a question about the king bed rooms: We stayed in one one year in Martinique, I think. They seem roomier than the regular rooms and with the QS (Queen sized or Quick Serve, whichever floats your boat:lmao:) beds they'll probably feel much roomier now.

Can you request specific buildings? I'd like to stay in Aruba and it looks like if I get building number 51 we could just take the path to the island, cross over it to the main pool and the restaurants rather quickly. Yes? or is it longer than it looks?

I know a request is not guaranteed. I think I read somewhere that you can no longer type in requests when doing on-line check- in? True story? I wonder why that was changed. I know I could make requests when I went in 2012.

Yes, you can request a specific building. I always call ahead of time and ask that they note my requests on my reservation. As you probably already know, make your requests in the order of importance to you.

We've stayed in all of the Jamaica buildings and in Aruba once, both walks to Old Port Royale are short.

DW LOVES the Community Coffee with chicory...says it is like getting a cup of coffee at the French Market...personally I don't care for the taste, like my coffee pure.

But bringing pods should be good...we switched to the Kuerig, but for awhile had the Senseo, and even had a "pod maker" so I might have to premake some good pods of my favorite blends.

So we call CBR to make the requests? How far in advance would you suggest calling them? Our trip is next September so we do have quite awhile, but we like to start planning early.

You won't be calling the CBR directly but you can call Disney Travel and put in your requests. I book as soon as the rates come out and then call to have my requests noted about three or four months before we are to arrive. I call again about three to four weeks prior to our arrival date.

By the way, it is neeeeeever to early to start planning. Heck, I plan our next year's vacation while still in Disney. :rolleyes1

We are at the CBR now in a refurbished room in Jamaica. The new rooms are amazing - exceeded my expectations in every way. The Murphy bed is plenty big enough for one of my kids (the fight over who gets to sleep in it) and the queen beds are great. The updated bathrooms are great as well. Definitely glad that we switched to CBR from POR to take advantage of free dining. MK was pretty empty today - we didn't wait more than 15 minutes for anything (had a FP for 7DMT)... Did have to wait 20 minutes for a Dole Whip, however :)

So glad that you are enjoying the resort, your resort choice and your entire trip. Sounds like it's going quite well!

That's great--for a Holiday (Labor day)!! We will be there in 15 days so I'm hoping the parks won't be to crowded-well Epcot probably will be because of F&W festival.

Hi,

We normally stay at the Poly, but this go around the budget may not allow with my DS going to college next year.

We would be either 3 adults because my son would be 18 and 2 kids, or if my DH does not go, 2 and 2. DH is not the Disney lover like the rest of us. He likes to be home.

I love the Poly for so many reasons, but the laid back tropical feel is very important.

What do you think?

My Kids would be 18, 15, and 12. Are they really too "old" for the pool and slide?

Thanks so much!

You will definitely get a laid back tropical feel here as well. They are not too old for the pool and slide at all! :thumbsup2

I am 23 and did not feel too old for the pool and slides at all. There are two slides in the pool, and while one is short, open, and clearly meant for smaller kids, the other slide is much more fun for older kids and adults! And I definitely got a laid back feel at CBR. The only consideration would be space in the room, the charges for an extra adult (less than the Poly, though), and when they start booking this resort for parties of 5.

Hi All! We leave a week from tomorrow and I requested Martinique as we have always lived staying in this village before. I'm now kind of wishing I had requested a refurbed room with a queen bed. If anyone has been there recently can you tell me if the old full size beds are comfortable?
Thanks!

Hello :) I'm trying to find the September pool/movie activities and can't seem to find them anywhere. Could anyone help?

Which villages have been refurnbed already? Will they all be complete by Nov 2015?
