The New Caribbean Beach FAQ Part VII

Quick question about the main pool area - are there plenty of sun loungers/chairs round the main pool? I like to relax with a book after a day at the parks while DH, DD & DS have a swim!! :smickey:

There are but depending on what time of year you go, they can fill up quickly. Especially the ones immediately by the pool. I was there in May and the loungers that were available were always towards the back near the fence. It never failed the loungers were just "towel keepers". ;) lol

Add me to the list.

We are staying Dec 12 to 20. It's my in-laws 50th anniversary. So we have quite a large group with us. We can't wait. We are hoping the weather will cooperate so we can enjoy the pool as well as the parks.

Just changed our reservation Caribbean Beach!! We'll be there Aug 16th - Aug 24th. So excited :cool1: Is there a way to make room requests? My aunt has a bit of a mobility issue and does not want to try to tackle stairs. I figured if we requested the first floor and any other section except Trinidad South we'd be good.

I just realized I never welcomed you or added your dates. Welcome! And you're dates have been added to the Beach Bum Roll Call.

add 2 more to the roll call for 13-20. December

our 1st romantic getaway... can anyone help with a more "romantic" side of the resort? we haven't placed any "requests" at all and just have a "regular room" booked.

I read Jamaica 45? and Aruba 51? have the bridge to the Cay (and I assume are requested a LOT). Any other "favorites"?

Welcome! I've added your dates.

I must say one of the things that we love about CBR is that it is very peaceful and quiet overall. I can't think of a location that isn't quiet, secluded and romantic. I really don't think you can go wrong anywhere in that regard.

Add us the the list! Decided to take a quick trip to experience the Special Frozen happenings at DHS! The joys of being an annual passholder!! 7/31-8/5

You've been added!

After staying value way more times than I want to count, I decided to give CBR a try. Of course I chose the most expensive time of the year (face palm), but the Free Dining should help. Stayed at ASMu in June and got tired of always eating QS.

Please add this Beach Bum to the roll! :wave2:

I'm just replying so I can subscribe. We're planning on December 22 to 30th and this is the first time we'll be staying onsite. I have a ADR for Christmas morning in Cinderella's Castle so I'm pretty excited for that. I had to get up at 4:45 on a Saturday morning to get that so I hope my girls have fun. I think that will be a pretty cool Christmas morning for my 10 and 7 year old daughters.

We've actually decided to drive 17 hours instead of flying so we can upgrade to a moderate and stay another couple days. I think the trade off will be worth it.

What an awesome Christmas Morning! You've been added.

Welcome! Dates added.

DH and I are going to be at CBR July 6-13. YAY! :woohoo:

I know you are able to send things to the resort, but I'm wondering if there are limitations as to what you can send. We want to buy a couple phone cases online, but the shipping to Canada is too expensive. I was wondering, since we will be there in a week, if we could send them to the resort... Any thoughts?

Welcome! I've added your dates. The resort will definitely hold your items for you until you arrive.

Surprises are great! Big and small! DS13 knows we are going at Christmas but, he does not know that we are going to surprise him with a kitchen sick at Beaches & Cream. I know it's not much but, he will love it. Do you have a special way to tell them? I am sure your kids will go absolutely nuts! Enjoy!

We will be there September 5-13. This is our second time staying there and we are looking forward to it. :)

Just left CBR after a three day stay . Although I have no major complaints I would not stay there again. First I did not care for the check in at Custom House. After my flight, ME adventure I just wanted to get to my room. We were in the Aruba section. We were prepared to walk to the room and were told it was much too far to walk with luggage. We had to wait for a van and bell service. Our room was on the second floor and it was quite clean but a bit dated as others have stated. The walk to the main building was about 10 minutes but a pleasant one . The main pool was nice but very crowded. Movies by the pool were offered as well. Food court offered same Disney fare no complaints and the gift shop was also nice. Thankfully they also have concierge right there if you need anything. We utilized the quiet pool near our room which was quite a bit larger than other resorts . Only downfall was that they do not supply towels there and many folks were looking for them. All in all it was an okay stay for 3 days but it would not be my first resort choice. But everyone has their favorites this just wouldn't be mine. Refurbishing is going on and a CM said it was on schedule. I wasn't able to see any of the new rooms etc.

I've always driven and it has been a great part of the trip...it is about 16 hours for us, but with a couple of stops on the way to stretch legs we plan two nights on the trip out (so we arrive a little after noon the first day at the resort)...I have to admit, the ride home is all about getting home...and planning the next return.
