5th stay in bldg. 44 pixiedust:

CBR is our favorite resort on property:thumbsup2

Do you need to request bed rails ahead of time or can you do it at check in?

We called it in as a request prior to arriving, but they weren't there when we got to the room. We called mouse keeping before heading out, (we just checked in to drop off our bags) and the bedrails were installed when we got back that evening.

We have done this 4 times with no problem. Friends of ours just did it 2 weeks ago. You can pick them up from a guest services location up to 3 days early.

dansdad, thanks for setting up this thread and thanks to those who have been adding information and answering questions.

If the roll call is still part of the thread, we ("older" brother, sister, BIL, nephew (6)) will be at CBR (pirate, standard) from October 23 - 28. This will be an interesting time for me as I am a solo traveler, lol.

dansdad, were your tickets the water park and more ones? If yes, are there vouchers for the golfing (@ Oak Trail) or is it part of one pass? I am trying to sneak in a couple of cheap rounds since I will be in on the 19th.

And for the poster (sorry can't remember your "name") who stayed in a pirate room recently (page 25), was there a fridge in the room? There was a review on another site that said they had a couple of rooms where there was space for a fridge but they didn't have them. And the amenities list for CBR rooms don't show fridges.

And for all, am I out to lunch to expect a fridge? Is this a special request that can be made?

Thanks.

Hi, we'll be staying at CBR Aug 25-30 in a preferred room, this thread has made me feel at ease about staying there and the pictures have really helped me get a feel for the resort so thanks for that. :) I've only stayed on site once 18 (!!) years ago in what is now known as POFQ, really excited to be trying a new resort.

Welcome! I hope you have a magical stay. I've added your dates.

we'll be staying Sept 21 - 27! This will be our first time staying at a moderate and I am way to excited!:cool1:

Good choice for your first moderate! You've been added.

We will be checking in on the 15th of December and checking out on the 22nd. I made all of our dining reservations this morning. I am looking forward to when some more pictures and reports of the refurb start showing up.:)

Yay on getting your ADRs done!

We will be staying at CBR for the first time and are really excited. We usually stay at POP but my daughter is getting older and we wanted to try something different. Between AoA and CBR... CBR won out because we wanted something relaxing. We will be staying from 12/27-1/2 :santa:.... probably wont stay during that time again but its one of those things to cross off the bucket list ;) ... I know its going to be CRAZY so I already have that in mind :goodvibes

There's nothing like Christmas at WDW! :santa:

Hey, Dansdad, thank you for this awesome thread! Are you still wanting pictures of the play area? I have a great shot of the playground and the little stone alligator head (that my DD just loved!) next to the path in the play area.

You're welcome. Sure, I'd like some pictures of the play area.

We will be at CBR with a group of 12 from 10/25-11/1. Can't wait to spend Halloween at Disney!:yay: I've really appreciated all the info on the CBR threads. We stayed at All Star Movies in 2011 and I was really unhappy with our room. It was dirty and the veneer was pulling off the furniture. Hoping that we can score a refurbished room in late October! Keeps those refurb updates coming, people. :)

Welcome! Halloween is our favorite time to go.

Hello all, first post on DIS, so thought this was a great thread to review then add our dates to.

We are here Dec 14-20.

Not WDW nubes, this will be our third trip. Stayed at ASMv the first one then POR the second...were booked for the week after Thanksgiving at first, but since they did not have free dining, we stepped back down to value and had POP...this just gnawed at us as we got spoiled by moderates on the last trip, so we ran the numbers and saw that shifting to the 14-20 to get free dining and upgrade to moderate SAVED us money...so we changed (after I even had scored great ADRs, but the Disney luck stayed with me as we got almost identical ones the other day when I rebooked them...the only one that was worse was BOG moving from 7 pm until 8:15 pm, but that is still early enough).

When we were told CBR and CSR were our two choices we jumped on CBR...never stayed or even looked in on this one, but of the two, this one seemed the closest to POR in feel. And DD loves teh look of the main pool...so fingers crossed for a warm arrival or departing day.

I am excited to hear that the rooms are being refurbed, and hope to get one on our trip...will be making an ongoing list of the buildings as they are done so come our 60 day check-in I can list those as first, second, third etc choices.

Welcome! I think you made an excellent choice!

We check in CBR w/free dining from 8/31 -9/7, but our flight actually gets in late on 8/28...Trying to decide if we should book room only for the first 3 nights or stay off property (not my first choice)!!! Has anyone had any experience getting park tickets early recently?? I would like to stay at CBR first 3 nights and just enjoy resort but my 14 year old and hubby will be antsy to get to a themepark at least by Saturday!!!!

I've added your dates.

For our last trip the golf vouchers were part of the packet we received when we checked in. So I don't think you can use them early. Not 100% sure though.

Thanks.

All of the rooms have a fridge. There was a safety recall of the fridges last year so there was a time when the majority of the rooms across WDW were without fridges. They have since completed the swap out and every room on WDW property has a fridge. You're good to go.:thumbsup2

thinking of having a resort day, sons are 7 and 13 what would you recommend ??

One of our typical resort days:
Sleep in
Grab breakfast at OPR
Take a walk around the lake. Our son, 12, loves to see how many critters he can find. Usually quite a few.
Hit the pool
Have lunch at the pool
Rent some bikes and take a couple laps around the lake. We stop off at a couple of the quiet pools to cool off along the way.
Swim some more
Head back to the room and change
Have dinner at Shutters
Catch the marshmallow roast - The CMs that work this are always so knowledgeable and have great tidbits and Disney trivia.
Watch the poolside movie
Grab a hammock on the Martinique beach and watch the higher fireworks from Illuminations
Call it a night

Okay, I think I am all caught up on adding people to the Roll Call and answering any questions that hadn't been answered yet.

Please let me know if I forgot anyone.

A lurker here mostly --me and my family (wife - 9 year old son) will be at CBR July 11th-16th...spent last two vacation at POFQ, loved it but wanted to try something new...from the looks of it here we hopefully made a good choice..

What page can the updated list be found? Thanks!

saw the picture of the new rooms on page 23 but Iwas wondering if any one has got a picture of the rooms all finished including bedding?
