About the refurbed rooms - do any of them have queen sized beds? The only thing that has kept me away from the CBR is bed size. My husband and I once shared a double bed during a 3 day trip to Catalina and it was not comfy. And we weren't traipsing around theme parks all day!

Yes! The double beds are being replaced by Queens. We enjoyed a room with 2 queen beds 2 weeks ago!

Yes, clearly not the rooms with king beds, but the word is all the rooms that were double beds are now queen beds...and some have the additional murphy bed as well.

The is the biggest draw for us...even though we like the new decor a lot better than the old rooms, that's just a bonus.

There are a lot of us going in Nov...hope the crowd calendars aren't way off! I am counting on low to med crowds the week before Thanksgiving like all the crowd calendars are predicting. OH YEA AND HAPPY DANCE FOR 18 MORE DAYS :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:TILL I AM SITTING ON A BEACH @ CBR!!!

I'm hoping the same thing! There seems to be quite a few of the resorts that have no rooms... But it's Disney and not work, and I'm ecstatic!

Well, that much closer, just got the paid in full confirmation email!!!!

So now we just sit back ant count the next 44 days (46 till we check in, but the drive out is a lot of fun too!)

URGH typed a massive note and it refused to post!!! Long story short, I'm sitting on my king-sized bed in Jamaica, corner room with an amazing water view! Thanks for all the help everyone has given. This holiday is better than the last time when we stayed at AKL and it's only day 3!!!!!!

Yay for leaving tomorrow! I hope that everything goes well on your trip. If you have a chance, would you please ask if they are still on time with the refurb. Last word was that it would be complete anywhere from March to May, 2015. Thanks!

It was a great trip overall. Some hiccups (and deals) that I will post when I get a breath, lol, that might help others (to plan for or avoid).

As for the refurbishment, I talked to two different concierge cast members and they both said they have been told that everything is on schedule for May; and one of them said they would actually be ahead of schedule if some materials had been available (don't know more than that or anything specific). The interesting tidbit (insert "rumor" here) is there is some trouble with the 5th person being booked into a room, which was mentioned to me when I asked about it at check in. However, since WDW has 5 person bookings in other resorts I don't see where that would be a problem so leaving that as a rumor only.

Sorry I couldn't add more.

Cheers!

Roehl

sorry if this has been asked before,

If we request Jamaica (we booked a standard room), how crowded should we expect buses to be by the time they get to us?

Depending on what entrance the buses you, Jamaica will either be the first stop or the fifth stop. There were a few times that we had to stand on the bus (when it was the fifth stop) but most times, we were able to find a seat.

I'm also hoping the crowds aren't too heavy week prior to thanksgiving. I have a feeling the free dining promotion is going to make the crowds extra heavy this week. I'm sure we will have a great time anyway. We will be there 11/14-11/24. I hope you have a great time too:thumbsup2

We were there last year in Nov - Saturday before Thanksgiving through Friday after Thanksgiving. It got more crowded each day, and Thanksgiving day was definitely very crowded. However, we planned out our fastpasses, itineraries and food reservations very well and we rarely had to wait more than 20 mins. Our kids were 7, 5 and 23 months at the time so we didn't stay late for fireworks since they were so late with the holiday which would have been very crowded.

The few times I felt like "wow there are a ton of people here" were Downtown Disney (the shopping and parking area), and Thanksgiving afternoon in MK - lines spilled over into walkways. But we had been there earlier in the week so we were just hitting a few things and fastpass rides. That night we left MK before the parade/fireworks but people had already lined up so Main St was packed but it just made me glad we weren't waiting. Plus, Thanksgiving day was 45 degrees. We had to buy fleeces in Norway the night before!! Have fun!

Please us to Beach Bum's Roll Call. Our dates are January 11-16.

Woo hoo!!

:cool1::cool1::yay::yay:

Thanks for the link! I will check it Friday afternoon. Final payment is due Saturday, so the link is just in time in case we need to make any updates.

Thanks. Since we will be leaving prior to thanksgiving, maybe it won't be too bad. I've also done a lot if planning, so hopefully everything works out:worship:

Just got back from a great week at CBR! We checked in on a Sunday, and I sent a room request the Tuesday before via fax. We had 4 standard rooms booked (13 of us) and requested Jamaica 45 and 2 rooms with Murphy beds. The only request we didn't receive was one of the Murphy bed rooms was assigned to the wrong party. Just wanted to let everyone know the faxed request seemed to be received and considered.

The only concern we had at CBR was it seemed there were people smoking in non-designated areas quite frequently - at the quiet pool, on the bridges, at the bottom of the building steps, etc. We didn't complain about it but I was wondering if this is just a CBR issue, or is Disney being more lax in general on smoking rules than they have been in previous years?
