The NEW AP Rate Watch Thread, Are they out yet??

Actually AP rates are the only discounts I haven't needed the code for. I suppose it's a lot like the FL discount, which also has a code associated with it. You don't need the code, but you have to be able to prove you qualify for it at check-in. I'm not sure why, but all I've ever had to do was just ask if the AP rate was available.

Whether this is a rumor or not, not sure, but friends that work at Disney told me that the reason people keep getting told to watch the Monitor is that a code will be required. That this is a new technique with Marketing. Regardless I am sure someone will post the code. I had also heard rumors of a possible change to requiring the AP at booking and using the AP ID number on the back as a PIN

Who knows? Time will tell.

Hi all - I finally got tired of playing the Disney AP game. I just got the Swan through hotwire for a rate of $81 a night. YAHOO. Hope the Swan will give me that Disney feeling. If not, my husband will keep reminding me of the savings and the fact that we can walk to Epcot, one of our favorite resorts. Hope I can talk him into a another trip this fall since we saved money.

Just a thought...
What about the people who don't receive the MM because they have just purchased an AP and only have voucher? How will they be able to give a pin or number from the AP ticket?

Believe me the info from the next Mickey Monitor will be available all over the Net.

At this point it is all rumor, only time will tell if changes are on the way.

Just called 11:05 am EST and still no AP rates!
I will keep my fingers crossed!

Can you tell us what price range you selected on 'Hotwire' & when you are going. $81.00 is an awesome rate!!! Congratulations!!!:D

Hi - I found the tip on the hotwire Swan & Dolphin thread on this board. We are going over Thanksgiving (11/27 through 12/6). Jim's thread tells you exactly what icons are listed for Swan & Dolphin and I took the chance. He has a link on the hotwire thread to another board that tells you what people are getting based upon price & the icons listed. I have always wanted to stay at the Swan or Dolphin but the price was too high. If you want a package (car/tickets & hotel) hotwire even lists the hotels (swan & dolphin were both included) and you get to chose the hotel you wa. The price for the tickets, swan & car rental from Harrisburg PA was excellent - $1300 for 2 of us for 9 nights and that included taxes. When I priced air alone it was $225 per ticket and a rental car was about $275. But my husand wants to play golf in the St Agustine so we are driving this time. So I decided that for $81 I would not wait and play the Disney AP & public code game and just take a sure thing now. It is a shame the Disney does not do the same thing - offer a certain percentage of rooms at a discounted rate and when they are gone they are gone... just like airlines do. If you wait you pay a higher price. Oh well... guess Disney has more marketing expertise than I do.

NONE yet! I just called and still nothing. Anybody got the scoop? I've always read everyone watching for them to be released so closely, but this is the first time for me.

Ugg...Last year they were out in JANUARY for August according to mousesavers.com. Come ON Disney.

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't remember AP rates for June last year. June was slim pickings for codes. Has anyone emailed Mary Warning to see if she knows anything???

On mousavers.com under historical codes it said AP rates for 4/21/02-9/30/02 came out 1/24/02! There was also a room code for anyone to use good for 4/21/02-6/22/02 It came out on 1/26/02.

By the time they move everyone from POFQ at the unbelieveable rates they are getting and the codes that have already been listed, they may not be any rooms to discount for AP anyway.

They only discount a certain percentage of the total inventory.

ok. It's the Sunday after the last codes expired: Any word yet?

Jess

No AP rate as of 9:15 a.m. EST.

My morning paper advertised AEA again, 4/27 to 7/3, book by 4/26. $25 off value, $50 off moderate, $100 off deluxe.

That's why I really don't think we will see any AP rates released until the very end of April, the beginning of May. I think they are waiting for these other code booking expirations to run out.
