Excited for ya'll! POR is where I'd love to stay next. Let us know how the ramen thing works out and if any of the recipes cnktruitt suggested are yummy. We would probably have to do the same thing ourselves :)

We've stayed at POR the last two visits, and can't wait 'til October 31st! We haven't requested AB or Mansions yet, but we've stayed in each. However we prefer the styling of the mansions. We'll fax in our request a few weeks before we leave.

The best part is, we're taking my mom and she still thinks that we're staying at ASMo. We're going to try our best to keep the resort change from her. We really want this to be a surprise. She's only ever heard of and seen pictures of the beauty of POR, but now's her chance to experience it herself, and with FREE DINING!

And my favorite ramen noodle recipe is chicken pad thai with ramen noodles.:rolleyes1

I'm sure this has been asked but I can't seem to find it. Is it better to call or fax in you AB or Mansion request?

Hi!
I'm thinking about upgrading from ASMu to POR. We're 2 families, one of 4, and the other of 5, so the only Mod is Riverside.
Question, if family #1 (that's mine) stays at FQ, would be to far from the other family in AB? We will be taking the same bus to the parks, so one of the families must go to the other resort and so forth.

Another question... we've stayed at the All Stars twice, and we love them for their fun and color. This trip we'll be bringing 5 kids from 6 to 10 years old. I read some report that the pool in Riverside is kind of dark, is it fun for kids? I'm trying to balance adults and kids taste alike, it's family vacation after all!

Hiya Soarin!

If you are planning on being able to run back & forth room to room the answer is yes, much much too far. POR has a very large property. And if you're counting on catching them on the bus remember Disney runs buses all the time & I can clearly remember 3 pulling up together one day. Family of 5 would be staying in the AB portion of Riverside which I have never even seen on our previous trips. I do hear great things about it!

Your second question was about the pools at Riverside. Take a look at Old Man Island.......it is build for kids in mind. It is one of the best features of the resort & really quite special. They do have other pools scattered about the resort if you want something quieter or closer to your room.

Our whole family love Riverside......hope this helps:cutie:

I just booked a couple of nights at POR for just prior to our Cruise. I picked POR mostly because of our wonderful stay there in Februrary. I didn't get to utilize the pool because it was being refurb'd at the time. Awesome area though. Kids will definately love it. We plan to spend much of our short time there in that particular pool!

It's do-able, but it's a good ten minutes walk from the middle of POR to the middle of FQ (so your walk could be longer or shorter, depending on where your respective room are located). At the closest points though (end of Parterre Place at POR and buidling 7 at POFQ) the walk would be quite short.

Thanks for the replies!! Sadly, I couldn't upgrade, there is no availability!! I'll be going from Dec 5th thru the 13th, I just noticed there is availability in the week before, just after Thanksgiving, but it's not certain that the other family could go that week, I'm so sad!!!

I JUST DID THE SAME THING :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

We are just back from another great stay at POR.

Made 3 simple request (AB, top floor, quiet area) on reservation, did online check-in, got ALL our request when we arrived. Were in Bldg 26 facing several ponds, no foot traffic in that courtyard! Had a corner room too. POR was not crowded at all. Went to FQ for Beignets 2 mornings and they had a tour group it seemed and was crowded.

I was so glad to see they brought back the Caffeine free Diet Coke in the foodcourt. I missed it the few visits it was gone. Have stayed at all the moderates, many of the deluxes and always come back to POR.

So excited that they have Caffeine free DC :cool1: Now I can have a coke after the parks! We love POR as well! Stayed there on our honeymoon back when it was Dixie Landings. I month exactly till our trip! :yay:

I just paid off my trip in full!!! :dance3: We are soooo looking forward to POR in December!
