Any rehabs coming to POR?

I believe that POR was last rehabbed in 2005. I'd like to know when they are going to rehab the rooms again. Right now, CBR and CSR are getting some rehabs, so maybe PO could be next?? How often are the mods rehabbed? Does anyone know?

I just wanted to confirm what the thread said- do all the rooms at the POR come with hair dryers? I have to have a hair dryer but would love to leave mine at home:)

Oh I thought of another- how long does the POR bus take to get to each park?

Yes they do, see the FAQ at the start of this thread.

Between 10 and 20 mins from the point that the bus departs from the resort (i.e. after any internal pickup stops). Epcot is usually the fastest, then Studios, MK, and AK is the longest.

Andre- we leave on THURSDAY MORNING!!! I am sooo excited and your website and DIS answers have been so amazing and helpful on our first trip to POR!

Question- on our last day- we were planning on getting up EARLY and getting luggage up to the front (we have a preferred airline) at like 7 a.m. in order to grab a bus and head to AK for the 8 a.m. rope drop. Based on the fact that you said AK is the longest bus ride typically- do you think this is possible? we have breakfast at Tusker House that morning at 9:30 and hoped to jump on some rides and grab some fast passes early - enjoy breakfast and then see the rest of the park until we have to leave for POR by 2:45

thanks so much

L

Glad you've found this thread and my website useful. Hope you have a great trip, I'm not at all jealous.... honest.... (By the way, if you get a chance to pop a short visit report onto my site when you get back, that'd be great)

Buses start running a good hour before park opening, so if AK is open at 8am for EMH then the buses should start around 7am. At that time of the morning, the buses won't be calling at Blizzard Beach so you'll have no trouble at all in getting there for 8am. Your plan sounds like a good one - just as long as you get all your packing done the night before! :)

If you want Bell Services to collect your bags from your room, give them ample time to work around your schedule. I'd suggest getting the bus from the South Depot, outside the main lobby building, if you can.

Have a great time,

Andre

Ok, we are set to arrive at POR on November 16- one month from today!!:cool1: Anyway, can anyone tell me if I can buy grocery like items from the POR store? Like a 1/2 gallon of milk, juice for the kids, donuts, etc. ?? Are the prices comparable to Garden Grocer? My husband wants to avoid the delivery cost of Garden Grocer and the possiblilty of ordering too much stuff that we have to end up throwing away. We are on the dining plan and have almost $300 in a Disney Rewards, so we will only need a few things.
Please help!!:worship:

Has anyone stayed in Bldg. 25 or 26? How many minutes(walking) to West Bus Stop and how many minutes to food court?

Can anyone say from experience that the rooms furthest from food etc. are in better condition than those most requested in Ab etc.Does it matter?

will be doing a review a bit later but we got in late last night around 12:20 a.m. so I have much to get done

BTW- we loved loved loved POR. Our first Disney trip in Jan was to CBR which was nice. BUT we loved the POR for its atmosphere, theming, amazing grounds, friendlyness etc.

it was a great resort and we would go back again in a heart beat

Welcome home, glad you enjoyed POR so much. Another convert, eh? :) We're all looking forward to hearing about your stay.

The only experience I have with POR is just our one visit this past Sept. We were in building 25 and our room was in very good condition.

Well- it was a great trip with beautiful sunny high 80 degree weather. We landed in Orlando around 10:15 a.m. on Thursday and made our way over the Magical Express. Lines were so so but moved quickly and we were off, heading for Disney. Stopped along the way at Saratoga Springs and French Quarter before we hit Riverside. Our waterview room in the mansions was not quite ready at 11:45 a.m. but they did some checking around and located an available room in Bldg 90. While the "waterview" part was questionable, we did face the quiet pool side (towards the back nearer to the parking lot) on the ground floor (9087) and loved having a pool so close by. The bridge across the river to the lobby and food area was close and over all we were VERY happy.

Our room was clean, airy (two windows as it was a corner) and we saw no issues of dirt mold etc. The bedspreads were newer looking and I believe the mattresses were brand new. They were great and comfortable.

First day was MNSSHP so we headed off to DTD for lunch reservations at Planet Hollywood by boat before heading to MK in the evening. The timing for the boat was perfect and we enjoyed the ride with our captain "Jason" Loved seeing the Treehouse Villas going up. We hope to stay there with our DVC friends late next year or early 2010.

Our rooms were cleaned perfectly each day, (I left $3 tip per day for the three of us) had everything we needed and have nothing but great things to say about the POR. Please let me know if you have any questions about the resort.

Will add more this week including the Bayou Pirate Adventure cruise my 8 yr old daughter took from POR.

Can't wait until we hear about Bayou Pirate Adventure. We have a 8 yr old DS so maybe he will be interested in the Adventure for next June 2009.

My Dh and I are planning a trip with our three kids in October '09. ( Kiddos first time !) I am very excited!!! I've heard great things about POR and wondered if anybody has heard anything about using the trundle beds in the regular rooms. I've been quoted this option for my family of 5. Just wondering about anyone's experience with this. Thanks !

I'm getting so excited! We head down for our first stay at POR on Oct. 28. I'm a bit disappointed to read that there is no wifi in the rooms, but we'll deal with it. Can't wait to see the beautiful grounds and be at the happiest place on earth!!

just subscribing, I booked for Oct 09 and I am trying to learn as much as I can about the resort.
