Who are you trying to book with - not Disney UK, or other UK travel agent, is it? If so, try booking with Disney US or a specialist travel agent, they'll be happy to take your booking.

yes - tried the uk sites - is there a problem with booking 5 through a uk site? - its just that we had such a good time last year and no problem with sleeping arrangements, would love to go back next year, waiting to hear back from smallworld vactions:thumbsup2

Yes, it's a Disney UK issue. The trouble is that just because THEY can't book it, they often try to tell guests that it's not available any more, which is wrong.

Get in touch with Disney US, they'll be able to book it for you.

Just back from out first POR stay!:thumbsup2

I did the Online check in thing. I must say it is a bit of a confusing concept at the POR.

When you arrive at POR you have to get on the same line as regular Checkin. Sort of defeats the purpose. However there is a seperate window for Online checkin. It is all the way in the back of the Hall.
However when the On Line Check In Window is empty, they didnt call "Next". (this happened to me & someone else I was talking too at the POR). You pretty much have to pass everyone in line ("Excuse me", Excuse me:) and hopefully none of them are waiting for Online check In window, and not paying attention.

The setup is problematic, so be aware.:confused3

Anyhooooooo Once I got to the window they verified my CC info I gave online. Handed me a map to the area our room will be "most likely in". (the room wasnt ready yet). Got our cards and went off to the parks.

Not any great time savings, and certainly not useful if you want a "better room". We were all the way in the back in Section 35 Alligator Bayou. I had a car, so it was no big deal. :3dglasses

Did you have a building request for this reservation? I'm worried I will lose mine.

POR here we come in just 62 days. I have really enjoyed reading this thread this morning. I have also looked at the resort photos and it looks very pretty. Last yr was our first stay at a mod. We stayed at and loved the CBR but POR looks very nice too. I would love to be in the mansions but it doesn't really matter as long as we are there.

Looks like we overlap a little - DH and I will be at POR from 9/5 to 9/14. Check out Google Earth for an overhead view of everything - you really get an idea of pools, foliage, etc.

hey great thanks. I'll check that out

Hello, I read through the Confirmed Snacks list over on the DDP board and did not see muffins listed for POR. I also searched this thread for any mention of muffins as snack credits with no luck.

Muffins are listed as snacks pretty much everywhere else, but not POR. Has anyone that has stayed at POR on the DDP recently been able to get a muffin using a snack credit?

Can anyone who has been recently or is going soon help me with my question? Thanks much!

Hey Port Orleans Riverside lovers, please check out my trip report (link in sig), which includes 1 night at POR. Several room pics, pool pics, etc.

Okay, shameless plug is over.

Just wondering if someone can answer this question for me. Boatwright's used to serve, these yummy stuffed french toast, sort of like Tonga Toast. Now, that Boatwrights doesn't serve breakfast any longer can I get the stuffed french toast at the counter service?
Please help my kids were really looking forward to having them.

I am not sure but I would think not as when we were there in May we asked the manager of Boatwright's about their being closed for breakfast and he did not indicate that the same menu could be found at walk up. We were staying at POFQ so did not try the breakfast walk up at POR. Hope someone else can give you a better answer as mine is a guess....

Do try POFQ for their special beneigts. (spell?)

We just booked our first onsite WDW vacation! We'll be staying at POR from Dec. 2-10. We're so excited and I can't wait to read all the details you post about the resort.

They did not have that when I was there at the beginning of July. Sorry!

You have picked a great time to go. You may run into occasional bad weather but the Christmas theming throughout WDW is incredible. I will be sure to look for your trip report when you get back.

I'm crossing my fingers for some lower crowds. I can deal with the weather - we're from Oregon so it rains here ALLLLL winter long. I've never gone in December before and really wanted to see the decorations but I also don't want too busy of crowds. So I'm hoping that's the case. And I'll definitely have a detailed TR... I journal every night we are there and I bring those home and TR from them.

This is our first time using DME. So will I come back to my room later on in the day and find my bags there or will I need to go claim them somewhere at the resort?

When I reserved they only had water-view rooms available. Where are these rooms located within the resort? Any specific requests I should make re: room placement?

BTW - There are 5 in our party so I *think* that means Alligator Bayou area???

Water view simply means overlooking some water (fairly obviously) but this could mean either a river view or a pool view. River view rooms are generally closer to the main facilities building and I personally prefer them, but if you've got young kids then a pool location might be better for you.

As you've got five people over the age of 2 then you will almost certainly get a room in Alligator Bayou for the extra trundle bed. If one of your party was an infant, you could just as easily get a Magnolia Bend mansion building room.
