geffric, don't fret so much about the house. I used to obsess a lot more than I do now about that stuff. I bet they love coming to your house because it is more welcoming and homier (is that a word?) than theirs. I have a friend whose house is always perfect and I sit there and feel like I can't move and shouldn't touch anything. I have another friend where it's so inviting, a little messy and just has that "lived in" feeling. You feel like you can curl up on the couch and relax. Calm down, put your feet up for a bit and relax. With as many people as it sounds like you're feeding, who's going to be looking around the house anyway?
Laurabelle, I truly, really, deeply believe that chocolate does have healing powers. Thanks!
To answer Deadheadbelle's question, we take turns going to one or the other grandparents (our parents) houses. Except this year it's DH's parents turn and my DM is being a pain in my butt about it. She knows that we always alternate years so we don't have to run around like a turkey
with it's head cut off all day. Now I'm getting "well, you're going to at least stop by for a little, aren't you?" Ahhhhhh! I can't reason with her.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_100.gif' border=0></a>
Anyway, off to my in-laws we will be. DSIL, Nancy-pants, won't be coming, they're going to their lakehouse instead to dine with her parents this year. Whew!
My other DSIL, the one I'm best buddies with, will be there with her hubby and kids and just last night we found out that DFIL's sister and hubby are coming down from Toledo! DFIL is so happy! He tends to be a little moody and grumpy, the one thing that makes him so happy is his family. He's so happy it makes me want to cry. (Happy tears!)
We're going to play games, maybe "Outburst". I really want the new Trivial Pursuit game. Anything but football<img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_1_102.gif' border=0></a> That is one football-lovin' bunch! I can't stand it!
But there will be pie, lots of pie!
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/1/1_4_7.gif' border=0></a>
