Huggabaloo and TiggerFans I just spent some time on the phone with Dell. What I'm looking for is mainly a second computer, laptop, for internet and mobility. What do you have? I did get the impression that they were willing to "deal".

BTW Huggabaloo- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE "O Brother Where Art Though". Thanks for reminding me of that one, definetly belongs on my list.

Favorite part of Christmas Story - Christmas morning, diving into the presents, Randy saying "wowie, a zepplin!", "oh, that's mine, that's mine", etc. Also, when the dad gets the bowling ball, I like that part too. And of course the Bumpeses (sp?) dogs! Love the dogs!

Regarding the Dell, we actually got a laptop and a desktop at the same time (one of the reasons the guy was willing to deal). I know the laptop is an Inspiron(sp?) but I can't remember the model number.

I'll be talking to my partner in a few mintues and will find out for ya. It's mainly his since he will be going back to school (and we'll most likely be living apart for a while). It's not top-of-the-line, but it's perfect for him...and very affordable. I'll let you know as soon as I have more info.

And BTW, I have never received a post card either. I just wrote a huge complaint about my last stay (2 wks ago) at the CR and told them I'll be back and will stay on site but not at the CR. So now that WDW knows that I'll be staying on site, I probably won't get a post card either!!! And WDW has only contacted my by e mail re: my complaint saying that someone will call me. I'm still waiting!!! But thats for another board....

[color=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/color] - my Dell is a desktop (Pentium 4, Dimension 8100 model). It's been a great computer! (You might also want to check their website and see if they're running any deals. Sometimes you can get a refurbished unit for hundreds of dollars off.)

Cheeringmom - I'd resend the copy of the email where they said they would call and tell them you have not been contacted yet. (Be sure that your original message is attached as well.) When I send an email to Disney I always address it "Dear Mickey and Cast Members" ... just to catch their attention!

[color=FF66CC]Tinkbackwards[/color], I talked to the techie (i.e., my partner) and he said that his is an Inspiron 1100 (he thought that was the right model # anyway). He said he thought it came standard with 128 MB of RAM, but he recommended upgrading to 256 MB if you plan on using XP. It also has a 30 gig hard drive. As part of our "deal" the Dell guy through in a combination DVD/CD-RW drive for no charge. He said his is not one of those extremely lightweight models, but it is not too terribly heavy either. Personally I prefer "my" desktop, but I wouldn't mind using his laptop if I <b>had</b> to!

Actually, one of the things I hate about laptops is the screen, but I have to admit that this one has a really nice screen (he couldn't remember if it was a 14" or 15").

HuggaBaloo, I love all the Christopher Guest movies, too. We own Best In Show, Guffman & Mighty Wind on DVD. Best in Show is my favorite, though. "We both like soup" ; "We could not talk or talk forever & still find thinks to not talk about" ; "which is what my mother did & that was her job..she was there for the unconditional love and it worked for my family until my mom committed suicide in '81" ; "GO GET BUSY BEE" ; "you obviously don't know my dog...there's a pet store down the stairs? what are you? A wizard or a genius...thanks for your help you stupid hotel manager"--OK, I've got to stop. I just love that movie. I think Parker Posey is such a great actress.

Bichon Barb, DH & I love Raising Arizona, too. After DS was born & we were taking him to his first Doctor appointment, DH kept saying "He's gotta get the diptep". I love Holly Hunter.

One of my favorite parts of Christmas Story is when Ralphie finally completes the Ovaltine puzzle & says "Son of a *****". It is sooo funny. I love watching that movie with my dad. He was born in 1935 & grew up in Toledo, Ohio, so it reminds him so much of his childhood.

OK folks, I'm outta here. I'll check in tonight when we get home. We are going to my mom & dad's house for my birthday dinner. We have lots of November birthdays in our family, so it is also my SIL's birthday dinner. I am looking forward to going, because I like my mom, dad, both brothers, and 1 of SILs, 1 of my nephews & 2 of my nieces. The problem comes in when my oldest brother's wife comes in. She drives me nuts . She is rude & her kids drive me nuts, too. I know that is awful to say. But they are wierd. They don't look you in the eye & they can't hold a conversation. They just scream & run, scream & run, scream & run. OK, glad I got that off my chest. I'll check in tonight.

I didn't take time to read today's posts. I just came here to vent and whine about my evening. DMIL likes to have birthday dinners once a month. Tonight I am going to my in-laws to celebrate my sisters-in-laws birthdays, one I like a bunch and one I don't like, a bunch. Anyway, the one I don't like has 3 brats under the age of 6. They're horrible, loud and did I mention brats? My other DSIL has two kids, but them I adore. My head hurts already. I don't wanna go!

BUT, there will be some really good pie to eat, and I do like pie. DMIL makes the best pie in the world!!!

Well, off I go to pickup DD-6 from ballet and then on to Grandma's house we go. Goodbye

Good afternoon, Tagliarchy folk! I picked up some chocolate covered pretzels for the Tag Fairy on my way home from work.

Welcome to Laurabelle and Lewski709 from another newbie.

Then there were the white boots with the fur trim. Moms didn't want to buy new boots every year, so when your feet were getting too big, they'd have you put plastic bread bags over your feet, and then have you slide them into the boots.

Bichon Barb Hee hee... the part about the plastic bread bags made me smile because my mom used to make me put them on over my mittens.

Favorite Christmas movies: White Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, and even though it's not technically a movie... Charlie Brown Christmas.

Believe it or not, I have never seen A Christmas Story. I plan to catch it sometime this season.
