The Never Ending Cruise - 2/6 Magic 8 night Cruise

In an effort to put off sewing I thought I would check in on my report! Maybe I should finish it up? The last day doesn't even seem any different then any other last day 3 months later! LOL!

Sorry to hear about the less than stellar character meal. You got some good pics, though and I thought your son's "bored" pictures were hilarious. My youngest daughter makes similar expressions.

I guess I am just never fond of character meals in general, they all seem so rushed. So this fits right in! I love a character meal though! :confused3 As long as I am not paying for it! LOL!

4 pages back???? uggghhh!!! Ok subbing so I can go back to read

OK I still don't understand the fish extender thing. Do you put presents in them? How fun is that????

That is some fabulous looking $100 haircut you got there blowing in the wind LOL!

When are you going to DL (your ticker is cut off on my work computer :ssst:)

Looks like you are really getting the hang of your new toy. You got some beautiful shots of Dallas

Mmmmm you are making me kinda want to make a pair of easy fits for myself.

4 pages back!!! You must have been busy with your own pre trip report which for some reason I don't think I ever even read more then the first couple of posts! It will give me a good reason to put off sewing even more today!

Yes, the fish extenders you put presents in. You form a group on the dis and then someone leads it (that was me). All you do is figure out how many rooms and how folks are participating and then you make the rules. We left ours very open. Do you as you please. The one main rule was that you have to deliver each room atleast once!

We came back to all kinds of fun stuff that Dallas enjoyed! I delivered twice to the kids and once to the adults during the cruise. We don't watch the shows in the evenings so it was nice to walk around and deliver then.

Still waiting on my $100 haircut to grow out and be normal! I was so jealous of your braids at DHS! They just look so cute!

We are going to Disneyland October 2-9th. What? You are joining us! Whoo hoo!! Jeanne hopes to make it too! She has her ressies. I think she just has forgotten to tell Mike! :rotfl: My tickets are bought and non refundable so we are going for sure. It is cut off in my siggy even though when I preview it shows up. I didn't really feel like ever fixing it for some reason.

I had been enjoying my new toy and thank you for the compliment. I haven't really used it in a while though. I wish I really knew how to use it but I kind of like just clicking the button! Where do you print your pictures out from? I had to a few at CVS for his baseball team but I had to resize every picture before they would upload. I don't usually use CVS though.

Easy fits are wonderful! Let me dig up a picture from the weekend!! They are so super comfy!

I need to make the waist smaller though. They fall down if I put anything in the pockets! We were driving home later so I wanted something comfy for the car and made them the night before we left.

Sorry the breakfast was rushed and hectic...that stinks...I love Dallas' "I am NOT in the mood for this breakfast" face....lol!

I think that has turned in to his I am taking a picture face! UGH!

Great update! I love that they humored you with the character meal. I am actually shocked my kids still love them!

I wish someone in my family loved them!

Jessica - that is a WONDERFUL idea to make a quilt out of your special clothing that you have made!!! Has Dallas ever gone through a Mario phase? Tim is so stinkin stuck in that right now!!! I pray he always loves the characters though, his big brothers do and they are 20 and 16!!!:rotfl:

Dallas loves Mario! He just got his first game with him in it but has known who he was.

Checking out your TR and loving it! :thumbsup2 I've never been on a cruise, much less a disney one, so this is cool! Can't wait to hear more!!

I'll try to add on atleast the next day soon! I don't have the pictures edited or uploaded though. I skipped editing the other days too though.

Hmm, thinking my TR is going to get a bit sketchy now that I have taken so long to do anything with it. I don't even know what day were sea days and what days weren't! I also had two different cameras going on which doesn't help, two different cards, uploaded on my computer in two different places.

I'll assume after breakfast we just hung out on the ship. This was a day at sea and we don't tend to do alot on sea days. We did play shuffleboard and Lin accidentally eraseda picture of me, one of the few pictures of me the entire trip!

We also must have sat inside and enjoyed the lobby area and then probably went and took a nap!

By the time we woke up from nap it would be time to get ready for dinner. The dining rotation was different this trip and I need to dig out our tickets but we ended up eating in Parrot Cay WAY too often! I was so tired of seeing that place. The menu tonight was not that great I remember. In fact there was just nothing I wanted. Nothing at all! Lin wasn't even that impressed and we decided to skip dinner and head up on deck and just enjoy the deck and grab something to eat up there. We went in the hot tub and enjoyed whatever was playing on the Ariel screen, probably disney channel at that time.

Afterward, Lin and Dallas got hamburgers but I wasn't in the mood. I decided to look at Topsiders and they had a yummy chicken dish with broccoli and mashed potatoes. My favorite! So I asked if I could get it and dine outside with the boys. But they said no. Lin and Dallas of course didn't want to eat and then come and sit with me so I decided I would just eat by myself in there. BUT that was not a good choice. For some reason it smelled of seafood and I HATE that smell. It makes me super sick super fast. So I ordered and ate quickly and left.

After I ate I went in and washed my hands and used the restroom. When I walked out the head chef came out to talk with me. He had asked my room # when I sat down and they noticed that we had left the dining room so he asked me if everything was okay. I told him yes, just wasn't very hungry at the time (2 hours had passed since our dining time) and we decided we didn't want to sit and eat in there). He also noticed that I ate quickly and I had told him why. He was very nice and told me he would get whatever I wanted in the dining room for me the next evening if I wanted it. He also told me he would have let me take my food outside if he had known why I wanted to. I thought that was very nice, but it wasn't a huge deal. I asked, I was told no. I am not special and dealt with it! LOL!

By the time I was done talking with him LIn and Dallas had returned from wherever they walked to. And we headed back to the room and just watched tv and went to bed. It was quite late even though it seems like we did nothing.

Tomorrow is Cozumel, Mexico. Hopefully I'll have something more interesting to talk about!

Tuesday, February ???

I made sure I was up in time to hit Topsiders for breakfast. They shut down around 10:30 and I cut it close a couple of mornings. I also went alone a couple of mornings since no one else was interested in getting up and dressed. What lazy cruisers we are!

I am sure we were docked before we even got up this day! Here is a picture of the boys with the big boat in the background!

003.jpg

And then once we walked up a bit a better picture of the boat.

005.jpg

I never really noticed but last time we cruised and got off in Cozumel the Mexican army or someone was all along the dock holding AK-47's. I really must go back and look at my pictures. I know Lin was talking about it with my mom and husband but I wasn't thrilled with hearing that and just kept walking with Dallas! It was nice that this time they weren't there. Lin even pointed that out first thing!

We walked around the little mall they dump you at. Dallas really wanted this little thing so we splurged all $5 and bought it for him! He enjoyed playing it in the room after and showing a few friends once he got home. I don't think he has really touched it since.

We just kind of wandered around and did nothing. I wanted to go to the beach but Lin wasn't really into it and I understood. We decided to take a tour of the island by private cab. We did this before and had the nicest driver and really enjoyed it. I thought Dallas might enjoy it now since he would remember it.

But, our driver wasn't so great this time. He really didn't stop and show us much or talk about much. The other guy talked the entire time about how they lived and the touristy and not tourist areas of the island. We stopped at the beach. This might be the adult area if I am thinking right, but no one was around.

There was a swing on the beach so I told Dallas to get on so I could take a picture!

Before we got to that point we saw a big ole iguana in the middle of the road. It was pretty darn gross but totally cool at the same time. I would have freaked if I was just walking along and saw it. It was big! That was the highlight of our drive to be honest!

We drove a bit further and stopped at the next little sandy area.

It was fun to watch the waves crashing!

Teresa, this picture is for you!

023.jpg

I was more then freaked out driving around as the car had no seatbelts that worked!! The part that they were to hook into were no longer there. This isn't the first time I have seen this in a cab and makes no sense at all. I even asked as you can clearly see the other part hanging and the front seat still had them!

We headed back to the ship after our boring tour. It was a world of difference this guy and the other one from years ago. The other guy had a family and worked hard to feed them, this was some "kid". You could really tell. I more then likely won't do it again, not sure what to do in Cozumel besides hit one of the private beaches.

We ordered room service and took a nap. I checked out the buffet a few times if we were back in time for lunch to still be up, but it wasn't really my taste. To be fair, I don't like much and what I do like is normal american food, not seafood, not asian, etc.

Obviously dinner was less then exciting again. I know most nights we went in the hot tub (the pool was FREEZING) and were the only ones up on deck!

Wednesday, February ???
Grand Cayman

I am sure breakfast was the same this morning. You have to tender to Grand Cayman which means you must get on a little boat and they take you from the ship to the island. I like that it adds another little boat ride to make your day more exciting but it can also be a long wait at times and sometimes you have to skip the island altogether due to the weather. The weather was iffy that day but they were letting us off and told us we had to be back on by 2 I think The storms were rolling in.

We walked around and took alot of pictures of nothing to have a few pictures.

030.jpg

We decided to skip doing anything at this stop since our tour the day before was so boring. They dropped us off at a nice little area. The last time we had cruised it was all torn up and they were working on it so it was nice to see it without walls and traffic everywhere. We also had to be bussed to this side last time because of the weather and waves and we couldn't tender, but they went to the other side of the island and we could. I will say Disney tries to handle most issues to make people happy!

A pretty big lizard.

We decided to go into some little musuem that told us about the islands history. We watched a movie first and then there was parts to walk around. The entire place was smaller then our house (and our house isn't big) but it was nice to learn a little about the history.

Here are Lin and Dallas outside the building.

037.jpg

By that time we figured we should head back to the ship. There was already a pretty decent sized line waiting to get back on. This is where it pays to cruise with Disney. I for some reason don't have a picture but Carnival had two ships in port that day and the line to get back on was crazy long. Crazy as in the folks were waiting well over an hour in the HOT sun with no shade and no water. They had one boat for each of their boats tending.

Disney on the other other hand had two boats tendering to two different doors (maybe it was even 3 boats) and the line looked long but moved quickly. They also had fresh water for us as soon as walked into our little area. Carnival was in a different little area but right next to us. We enjoyed the cold FREE water!

038.jpg

They were set up there all day with the water from the time we got off until we got back on. A little perk but worth a million $ that day!

045.jpg

Once we got back to the room we just relaxed and I am sure took a nap again!

I think pirate night was tonight. I have to upload those pictures still. They were on a different camera.
