The NCIS Official Thread

Disneyfed. Count 2 hats over here please:thumbsup2

Told my DH last night about your joining in the thread and offering hats. He grinned like a kid at Christmas, so yeah he wants 1:lmao:

Galahad:
My only suggestion for you would be to hit Netflix and rent the last season of JAG through them. Or maybe it was the season b4 the last 1. Not quite sure. That way you'd see the intro and not have to keep JAG. We don't use it anymore but we did rent 1 or tv shows from there when we did. They usually have a trial offer for new members

We never watch any show when it's in its original run - in fact we haven't watched anything "on television" in a very long time. But we watch what we get into on DVD. .... We saw a couple of episodes of NCIS with my parents this summer because of the David McCallum connection. So now have bought the DVD's of NCIS and will watch it "in order" as my wife insists on doing. But, the problem is she would like to see the original 2 JAG episodes that introduced the NCIS premise - but we don't want to buy that whole season of JAG. Haven't been able to find another legal way to watch those (apart from a very long waiting list at the library). Any suggestions (a long shot I know - I think I need to convince her just to buy the whole season. We've wasted more money than that in an afternoon at EPCOT - can't see that it's a huge deal). :p
JAG had been running on one of the cable channels and that's how we caught the two-part back-door pilot for NCIS. We actually had those on our DVR, along with the first couple of seasons of NCIS, which was/is running on USA Network. We were able to eventually pick up every episode of NCIS that way, so that we actually caught up with the first run episodes, two years ago.

I just checked... you're in "luck" (sort of). JAG begins a new run on USA Network, starting September 9. The problem is that they're not starting over from the beginning because they're finishing up with a previous run, so the two episodes you're looking for aren't going to be broadcast this coming week (which they would be if indeed USA Network was currently finishing up a previous run).

I suppose you could wait a year and a half until those two episodes made it around on the rotation, or hope for a marathon that includes them.

JAG is not available, by the episode, via Amazon Unbox nor Hulu.

I'm a total Michael Weatherly/Tony fan now.

But an I the only one that adores Palmer?

Now I'm curious to find all those links within the show that touch on all the various in cast roles.

I like Palmer, too. I loved the show where Tony was going to him, like Gibbs goes to Duckie.

I think they have the perfect cast right now, and I'd hate to lose any of them*. But Gibbs  is why I tune in!

*Except the director-don't trust him! I can't wait to hear the rest of his story.

DisneyFed, do you know a "Ducky" in the real NCIS? And just so you know, I love to know about the real NCIS too. And I would love a hat if it is possible.

No, no "Ducky"..we have lots of Forensic Guys who would "be him", but none of them match his "personality"...:rotfl:

Didn't was through 22 pages so this might have been answered already, but:

We never watch any show when it's in its original run - in fact we haven't watched anything "on television" in a very long time. But we watch what we get into on DVD. So, for example, earlier this year we watched all of the episodes from the original Wild Wild West show - incredibly good show from the 60's. We then went on to watch all of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. - apart from its last shortened season, it wasn't as good as the Wild Wild West, but still a great old show. We saw a couple of episodes of NCIS with my parents this summer because of the David McCallum connection. So now have bought the DVD's of NCIS and will watch it "in order" as my wife insists on doing. Not sure if this helps....

NCIS was introduced in season 8 of JAG. The two-part episode of "JAG" is called "Meltdown" and "Ice Queen".

Thanks. Yeah, we knew that. Just weren't interested in buying a whole season of J.A.G. if we could avoid it. I don't think we'll be able to avoid it.

On the other had - we decided to do this 2 weeks ago and seem to be in no hurry (we've waited this long, what's a little while longer). So maybe we'll take Bicker's approach and wait for it (Ice Queen, etc) to come on TV.

JAG repeats are also shown on the Sleuth Channel. I know we have it as part of our digital cable package. It might also be part of Dish Network.

I do my best sleeping at night....:lmao::lmao:

Y'all let me know if ya might like a hat...might be able to round something up when I get home!

Now THAT would be cool. In NY FDNY and PDNY hats are a dime a dozen, but not too many people walk around wearing NCIS hats :lmao:

They don't show the hours of tedious paperwork that's involved, or the administrative burden general law enforcement entails, but ratings would pretty much drop if they did:scared1::scared1:

I'm sure it's like that on the medical and lawyer shows too. I can't speak for the former, but trust me, lawyers do not spend all day in court trying cases.

Unfortunately, there is no Abby---though I know the inspiration for her character quite well---and they're pretty much dead in line--except for the tattoos--and no advanced lab. We used to have our own labs, but shut them down to use the U.S. Army Criminal Investigative Lab in Atlanta---though we have just decided to "restart" our labs...

I like the NCIS lab so much better than the CSI labs (on TV that is). The NCIS labs are much more believable. Some of the stuff that the CSIs work with, especially CSI: Miami, is so much science fiction, it's ridiculous.

You can download an mpeg of it from Torrent:

OK, sorry. Probably a Naive question - but isn't Torrent at least marginally illegal?

Is it? My bad. I googled it, but couldn't check the reference in work. I usually use YouTube, Hulu or Limewire for my media viewing.

Distributing copies of copyrighted works, like NCIS, is indeed a violation of federal law.

OK, we skipped the Jag episodes. We have the DVD's for season 1-6 of NCIS and have watched 3 episodes so far. We are officially hooked! We really like "finding" a show this way - years after it airs. One, we don't get caught up in the "TV watching habit". Two, this way, we can see them when we want without dinking around with DVR's and such (we don't own one). Anyway, I'm hoping there is something good on TV now so that 6 years from now we can find it. :p

I think you make several good points!

and maybe 6 years from now, you can start watching the NCIS spin-off!

Tonight on NCIS is the repeat of the first of two episodes introducing the NCIS spin off, just in case anyone missed it.

Can't wait for the new season!!!
