Howdy folks! :goodvibes

Robert was really keen to go and see the Nautilus on our last trip- Too much 'League of Extrordinary Gentlemen' methinks, but we never got the chance. I've seen a few people mention seeing a giant octopus down there?! Robert has a fear of most things fishy and aquatic, so could somebody tell me whats actually on there please? Is there anything? Is it a ride? Is it a gallery?? Sorry for asking what is probably a very stupid question!!

Well, it's like a walk thourgh thing, like you're on a submarine.

And then there's a bit where you get to a big porthole, and a holographic octupus comes to the window if I remember completely.

As you can probably tell, it didn't make a massive impression on me.

Hmmm... I might have to give him complete warning about the Octopus.... Otherwise it might end up with a swift trip to A&E!!!

None of us have been that impressed with it to be honest :)

It certainly sounds that way.... Unfortunately, he is very stubborn, so he'll probably want to go on it regardless.... Then he'll grump that it wasn't very good. Its a pattern that I'm kinda used to!!

I'm on the phone to him as I type, and I've told him what everyone on here has said and he's currently having a tantrum in the style of a two year old screaming: "I WANT TO GO ON IT!!"....

The good news is- I my brother and I walked through it in less than 5 min. (with seeing the octopus)...so if there's no wait at least you're not losing any time!

Sorry to be the dissenting voice here, but I really like it, I love looking around in there at the maps, compasses etc. and DS has to sit and watch the squid at least 3 times every visit. :)

BTW It's a Giant Squid not an Octopus if that makes a difference, you must have seen 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, that's the film it's based on.

There is a video here on dlrpmagic if you want to know what to expect. The squid "attack" starts at about 4 mins 50 secs!

I agree with you Jill - I think the attraction is beautifully done.

Maybe we should try it again as I'm sure my 3 are much more Disney geeks than they were when we first visited :)

I like it too, and though the giant squid is obviously fake my DS adored it and had to watch it far too many times. He loved the holographic Nemo appearing in the mirror too. Definitely worth a visit I think, and although personally I wouldn't choose to go back more than once I'm certain my children will!

Never noticed this LOL, you think i would of had seeing as ive been 3 times already this year lmao

i've never been too impressed by it, i've only ever been on it when the queues are too long everywhere else.

I wasn't impressed the first time either but it was very very crowded and hard to look at anything.

The next time I went on it was very quiet and I was able to look at everything properly and really changed my mind ~ I can remember watching the film as a child and the attention to detail is amazing! :thumbsup2

There's a very interesting article about it here. :)

That's a really interesting article - such passion!

Weirdly I always liked this one myself
