And now I know who has been spreading the drama...it's exactly who I suspected. I am so upset that this afternoon, on my way to the bathroom, two of my trusted coworkers stopped me and said "Chris is right around the corner." I said forget it and walked away - and yes, I cried. Why bother purposely putting myself in his path?

I just wish someone would start spreading NICE rumours about me. I guess that's not the way it works.

Jeannie Beanie, do you mean the Meet with Goof, Me and Cheryl? That is THIS coming weekend. Saturday night July 26th @ 6:30pm @ DL!!!!!! :yay: :dance3: :yay: :dance3:

DOH! Let me know if Goofster is wearing his very best orange tee shirt & in full lanyard regalia!

Tait! Wait! I am getting a mental picutre! Yes! Yes! That's it!
Sorceress is having a shopping emergency! I am prescribing plastic therapy, STAT!

Okay, well, I heard some whispering earlier, and it wasn't about me...it was about the boss's wife, the woman up in accounting who gives me (and apparently, everyone else) a hard time.

Everyone here today seems to be awfully quiet. Must be the Monday funk. Of course, I don't think that means that everyone is "mean"... :sad2:

I caught Chris 5x today, looking in my direction
. Even once across the parking lot, on his way out to lunch. Just freaking TALK TO ME!!! Oh, and he has a new truck now...with a new tag #...something else to memorize, I guess.

Oh, that is RICH! :rotfl2:
Um, typo?
I'm atwitter! I'm predicting romance! Now cooperate with Cupid!

Hello!!! :cheer2:

Just another drive-by post...let you know I'm still alive and all! :headache:

Hope everybody is doing well! :grouphug:

Luvs ya and buh bye!

Who was that masked man?

Keith, Keith, Keith! You just HAD to ask! :scared:

Liz, you need to face Cupid head on & without hesitation!
:cheer2: Drop the baggage & embrace the challenge! :cheer2:
:woohoo: We're rooting for you! :woohoo:
You deserve happiness--or at least a little fun!! :cloud9:
Stop punishing your lovely self :grouphug:

Okay, I need to work the phones! Smile & Dial!

It's not going to happen, Jean. Let's all just face it. I did everything wrong...again...

I'm going to re-focus my energy into moving away...far from here...where nobody knows me. Complete re-start.

I think a change would do you a world a good. It's exciting!
Fresh start.

I know you like Chicago, but I'm thinking warm! :goodvibes

Not just freezing winters AND boiling summers! :rotfl:

And never close doors on chances! You haven't blown it 'til you're 6 feet under!

Today's looking up. I have a theory that more people return calls at the begining of the week as opposed to Thursday/Friday.

Massive jam up for Saturday approaching. some cretin booked a meeting for 1 hr & yesterday he told me it's gonna be 3 hours. this is someone who works in the same organization.
Oh, & he doesn't have time to set up or do anything other than show up

I am borrowing a line from DH's boss when he emailed an ever cancelling interviewee: "You're not even here & already you're too much trouble!"

Now, that's gonna go over real well! Too bad! :cutie:

I only have my heart set on Chicago because family is there. I'd love to be closer to Allison.

If the big doof decides he finally wants to talk to me, I'll talk to him. But it doesn't look like it will ever happen. If anyone would like to let him know he's an idiot and I could have been the best thing that ever happened to him...have at it.

Yes, I think most people return calls first thing in the week. That's why I always wait until later - I'm almost assured of getting through.

That..."person" does sound like a cretin

Hi all!

Wow! Liz! I didn't even know there had been a tornado--now their saying straight line winds--until you asked! So, 'No' there have been no houses falling on me & my broom!

Epsom is quite a ways to the east of us, we're near the Vermont border. So while we got torrential rains, flooding & some wind, thunder & lightening, no scary stuff.
At least one person was killed in Epsom.:sad2:

Tornadoes do happen out here, but not often. That's more of a Rella, Rob, Peej, BN & Squiddy thing.

I've been out all day doing tours & errands. Girding my loins for combat with the cretin tomorrow in the A.M.

There's nothin' scarier than an incensed fat lady running on little sleep:laughing:

Here's thinking you are sitting back with a Guinness, Liz!

Hello, Nut Jobs! I am currently in Ohio. At least for a couple hours!! We had a great time in Disney and my sister and cousin got to see a few colleges. We spent our last 4 nights bum-laying at the beach. All in all it was an absolutely wonderful trip and a really fun summer. Weather was great and everyone had fun. Yesterady my aunt, cousin, and I made the 14 hour drive back to Ohio. The rest of my family is stilll at the beach. I need to be heading to my new home shortly because my new teacher induction starts tomorrow. It's all day every day next week. Wish me luck! I don't have internet set up in my apartment yet, so I might go missing for a few more days here, but I'll try to check in when I can. Hugs to all!
:grouphug:
Peej. Out.

Hey, Jeannie Weenie was here! :teeth:

Hola and :grouphug: to all.

Nothing much happening here. Went to the Titanic exhibit with my friends on Sunday. It was excellent and if anyone else has the chance to see it at some point, I recommend it.

Someone needs to tell a Certain Someone to quit staring and start talking! But hey...if he wants to believe the nasty, untrue gossip spread by someone who didn't like me from the minute I walked in that door, he's an idiot.

And speaking of Psycho Sue, she's on vacation this week. We're getting hammered with work.

That's it in a nutshell. Pun intended.

What were yr favorite few things at the Titanic exhibit?
Did yr friends like it too? Any pics? What was the museum gift shop selling?

Perhaps a Certain Someone is hoping you're a nasssty girl!

Um, nice work sending Psycho Sue those tickets to Central Falls, RI! ;)

Peejers, no internet????:scared1:

Sounds like you all had a terrific Fl holiday! :cheer2:

We'll be thinking of you, nose to the grindstone, w/o internet :guilty:

Gotta go, it's begining to thunder & lightening here! :scared:
We have the neatest rolling thunder here in the hills~

I think we all enjoyed the Titanic exhibit. Near the beginning of it, you walk down a recreation of a first-class corridor, and both Danielle and I got the creeps by it. We all thought it was pretty cool how, in the third-class cabin area, it sounded like the ship's engines were running (as it said on the plaque, they could always be heard in that area). In the boiler room, you could actually smell something burning. There was another room that was dark, with black curtains on the walls and "stars" shining through, with a huge block of ice in it, representing the iceberg, then another one with a lifeboat davit and a representation of the lifeboat projected on the floor. We found it hard to believe it was lifesize, because the four of us tried standing in it and there is NO WAY they could have fit 26 people in there.

I think the most moving artifacts were the personal ones. A man's suit, a pair of pajamas, socks, a shoe sole, a hat, a pair of glasses, a woman's diamond bracelet with the name "Amy" on it (it said there were 2 Amys, plus an Amelia and an Amanda on the ship, so there's no knowing who it belonged to). We were also amazed by some of the paper goods that survived. Letters, money, luggage tickets...

No pictures. Cameras weren't allowed. The only souvenir I have is my "boarding pass" (I was a 7-year-old girl, who survived along with my mother. My father died). The stuff in the gift shop was your general overpriced junk, so we just walked through and left.

Anyway...okay, so not only does Someone need to be told to stop staring and start talking, he needs to be told that I am indeed nasty. In a good way :thumbsup2

Well, it's Friday. I hear tomorrow is going to be lousy with weather.

The Titanic exhibit sounds wonderful Liz! I do like it's being personalized, the assigning a person to each visitor, as is done in the Holocaust Museum. I think it's a very visceral link to real lives.

About how long did you spend actually going through the exhibit? Was the staff sheparding visitors along trying to keep things moving? Did you feel as if you had enough time to read & observe?

Mmm, you can always tell Mr Gazer to take a picture. Oh, wait! Let him know you can supply him with a few! pirate:

We have had the weirdest summer. So much rain & lightening & thunder.
The freakin' rain/thunder/lightening is beginning to remind me of those 4 pm FL rainstorms! :headache:

Have a good weekend

Am at the museum, of course & it's off to the French & Indian Wars!

I actually didn't find the link to a real passenger as difficult as I thought it would be. Maybe because I lived...maybe because I didn't see any artifacts that belonged to her...it was the artifacts that, despite being anonymous, you know they belonged to somebody that was on that ship, and you don't know if they lived or died...

It's thought-provoking.

I think it took us about an hour and a half to go through it. And we really looked at everything; I'm one of those people that walks completely around the case, leaning as close as I can without setting off the alarms, looking at every inch of it. They didn't have staff in there, unless they were plain-clothes to blend with the crowd. Which didn't exist, actually, although plenty of people came in right after us. It was a self-guided exhibit, so you could spend as much time as you wanted. We could even have walked through again if we wanted. We didn't get the audio tour, so we discussed going through, then going up to get the audio tour and going through again, but nobody wanted to when we were done.

You know what? Forget about Chris (at work). It's his loss. I'm a good person, I'm smart, I'm funny, I have a lot to give...but he doesn't even want to take the time to talk to me and find out if he wants it? Pfft - screw him. Jocelyne told me that he's not too bright - yeah, that's obvious. Plus, I see him heading for the reception area 3-4 times a day, where those 2 women are (the one that's married, and the other one that has a child with her married boyfriend). If he wants to play hide the pickle with someone who is already attached, then he really is an idiot and I don't want to get involved.

Just sitting here, waiting for the rain. And the internet technician - my mother hasn't been able to use her computer for 2 weeks, and trouble-shooting hasn't fixed the problem.

French & Indian Wars...now that sounds interesting...

Okay, is this just my luck or what? The guy was just here to work on my mother's computer...I think he REALLY liked me. Not only did he work on her issue, but he spent another hour setting us both up with antivirus stuff and this that and the other...plus he looked at all of my books and checked out my tattoos and we talked about music and cartoons...he's the same age as me and he had long dark hair (which is SO my type!)...

And a ring on his left ring finger!!! :sad1:

I can't catch a break. He just left and Mum said, "I think he really liked you." Yeah, I think so, too. Darn it all.

And I look like a drowned rat. It's muggy out, so I'm here with my hair pulled up (but falling out of the clip), bangs hanging in my eyes, sweating, wearing an old tank top and knit shorts with all of my fat spilling out...

Maybe that's the secret! :p

Oh, and one other thing...my dog, who hates men? She let him pet her! This NEVER happens!

Liz it sounds like you do museums like I do them. Read everything! Investigate everything! :woohoo:

I'm telling you, you need to volunteer, even once a month, at a museum. They need volunteers like crazy. I will be volunteering next spring 'translating' & transcribing old diaries (18th & early 19th century). there's lots of different jobs to do.

Oh, and you can meet like-minded male types :teeth:

Well, if yr Chris is interested in drama for the time being you've taken the right course. Sounds like he still wouldn't mind a little Liz! :cutie:

Wonder if tech man has a brother? :rolleyes1

It's the 250th anniversary of the French & Indian War, so big reenactments.
I'll tell you wench, there are some totally HoTt men--most with long hair, at these things:earseek: It was pouring rain today but they were still able to get the reenactment off with little problem with the powder.
So lots of barefoot, bedraggled lady reeactors but they have men & those men must like 'em!

Most men are a lot more tolerant of women's appearances than we give them credit for, it's true. Especially reeactor types.
Just sayin'

Oh, CT has a LOT of reenactment groups ::yes::

I'm a museum groupie; I LOVE exploring! Danielle and I got all excited as we left the Titanic; there was a table set up advertising the upcoming CT Science Center. It's going to be interactive and sounds like it will be very similar to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. One of my most FAVOURITE museums ever! The brochure we picked up says it will be done this year, but the board on the table said 2009.

I have considered volunteering at a museum, but the closest ones want full-time volunteers. Then there's also the need to be qualified; they don't train. I really wanted to try at the art museum in Springfield, but even just to volunteer, you need an art degree. Master's, no less.

There is Sturbridge Village, but that's a bit of a drive. Danielle's parents volunteer there; they do the whole dress-up and "act." They're everyday volunteers, though, as well.

Re-enactments, huh? I never heard of them doing that here!

So, I'm signed up on eHarmony, and I'm having the same problem there - guys still won't even talk to me! I have NOTHING negative in my little profile thing, so I'm completely convinced that it's because I'm ugly. In fact, a lot of my matches "closed" communication (before talking to me) because "I couldn't see the picture." I realize that they're not worth it, if they have to know what I look like before even speaking to me, but geez...how shallow can you be?

Try for small museums & museum houses, they're crying for volunteers!

We train & most museums or basic research groups do. All of our volunteer staff is part time, some as little as 4 hrs per month. It's true we like to see 15 -20 hrs done in a month for the 1st month while training, but we make LOTS of exceptions.

How far is Mystic from you?

Really there are so many reenactment groups. Let me research a couple of weeks & I'll PM you a list in yr area, also with small museums.

As for dating sites, so many of those guys are losers but they want Kate Moss.
Not that there aren't some nice guys looking to expedite the time spent looking for woman, but...

Liz, do you remember what Nut you were? Was it Filbert?

My Nut can is semi-retired now.
What Nut was Rob?
