The Nabors' family vacation - Take 2

Ok, so I'm working on getting our plans finalized so I can book everything and have the ADR's ready when my window opens.

Here's my problem...my daughter is in love with the princesses. There are several choices for us.:

Cinderella's Royal table - we are planning an early morning session with BBB on one of our MK days, so this would work well together. However, it takes 2 TS credits. I'm not sure about this one.

Akershus - I've heard really good things about this breakfast. I've seen pictures and you get to see so many different princesses. And, it only costs 1 TS.

Park Fare - I know you only see Cinderella here, but I've heard the interaction with the sisters and mother is first rate. Plus this would be a little less girly for DS.

Any suggestions? I could use some input. I'm still new to the Dining Plan.

I don't have kids...nor am I one...but we went to CRT for breakfast last June and LOVED it! The food was great, princesses were everwhere AND your in THE castle, lol?? We were sold!

Thanks! I'm sure you'll get a lot less in NC than you do now. I live in upstate SC which is real near the mtns of NC and they get all the snow that comes around here. I don't know how the kids ever get done with school. They were closed for almost a week in December because of weather!

Nice! We are looking at the Chapel Hill/Durham area, so not as much snow. Really where we are in Michigan we do not get near as much snow as when we lived in Northern IL--now that was a lot of snow for us!! No thank you--not anymore! ;)

Hmmm...well thinking that you have a son and daughter, Park Fare might be a good choice. The stepsisters would certainly keep him entertained! Cinderella and her Prince dance with guests, so he could dance with Cindy and your daughter could get the Prince. :)

At this point, we have decided against CRT this go around--not with DD being so young. CRT does give wands to girls and swords to the boys so he might not feel left out there either. But for 2 TS credits, it has to be amazing food to me and it was just ok when we were there. But then again, it was awhile back so it could be much different and hopefully better now! Can you "afford" the two credits? Another reason we decided against it is because we want to try other places this go around. :goodvibes

Thanks for the advice. I'm sure there is nothing that can compare to being in the castle. I think we may try to fit in both CRT and Akershus.

I don't know what we would do if we had more than a dusting every once in a while! :lmao:

We may try to fit in both CRT and Akershus, but if we can't I think I'm leaning towards Akershus. I've heard that the princesses were so good with spending quality time with the kids and not rushing through. If we don't get to do the castle this time, then I have a reason to go back!! :rotfl2:

We did both CRT AND Akershus on our last trip. We are doing 1900 Park Fare this next trip (and Akershus again). I wasn't that impresses with CRT to tell you the truth. The princesses were VERY rushed and the food was nothing special. Of course eating in the castle was amazing but nit worth 2 TS credits IMO. However we LOVED Akershus!! The princesses really took a lot of time with us and the food was wonderful!! Definitely a family favorite!! :goodvibes

I agree with Becky--the CRT did not seem worth the 2 TS credits it costs to me. Her opinion is based on a much more recent trip than mine but from all accounts, you either love it or can do without it.

I am really looking forward to 1900 Park Fare and Akershus. :)

I think all of y'all have sealed the deal. I think I'm gonna go with Akershus and save the castle for another trip. It gives me an excuse to go back, anyway! :rolleyes1

I appreciate all of y'all's help. I think I've decided on Akershus. Thanks again!:thumbsup2

Well, it's been some weekend. About 3:00 Friday afternoon as I was taking Bekah to gymnastics, it starts snowing hard! It snowed all night and we ended up getting around 4in total! We got up early Saturday morning so we could make a snowman and have a snowball fight. We couldn't find the kids' gloves, so their fingers were frozen when we finally got them back inside. I'll post pics later.
That night we went to the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville for Winter Jam. It's a Christian concert they have yearly that is sponsored by Newsong and always has the best groups. This year they had Third Day and NewsBoys. It was so much fun. The kids had a great time.
Sunday, Valentines Day, my kids gave me a book by Francine Rivers and my hubby gave me a new Willow Tree. So sweet. We went to church that morning. I helped the kids make Easter baskets so they can start saving money for our "30 pieces of Silver" offering we do every year. We had lunch at Copper River with my in-laws and our best friends. Noah wasn't feeling very well so we went home and I gave him some Motrin. He fell asleep and so did Bekah. We were supposed to go to one of our youth's Black History Month play but since Noah wasn't feeling well we skipped it. I ended up staying home since I was letting Noah rest. After Rocky got home we all watched AFV and Extreme Makeover and then went to bed.
This morning was President's Day so the kids had the day off. We decided to take the day off work and spend a family day together. We took off to Commerce, GA around 9:30 and spent the day talking and laughing and spending way too much money. It was a good day. We got home around 3:30, got ready for District Campmeeting. It was a great service. Now the kids are in bed and I'm fixing to go on to bed myself.

Just thought I would share what my weekend was like. Hope everyone had as great of a weekend as I did!! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: hopefully Becky and I did not seem to forceful! Now that dinner at CRT has Cinderella guaranteed it could be worth it but I am so so on the food.

Love your list! I love me a good list. :thumbsup2 Have you shown her the HM on YouTube? Talk about how it is a silly scary not a bad scary? I am hoping Lilian will like it!!

HOP is one of my favorites though I would say BTMRR is my favorite of the attractions I have done in MK. We are not planning on Stitch either--no thank you!! ;)

Sounds like a great weekend overall despite Noah not feeling so well. I hope he and everyone else in the family is doing well!

Sorry it has been so long since I've been back on. Thing have been majorly busy on the homefront. Our pastor's wife was diagnosed with colon cancer and had to have surgery to remove the mass. She is now undergoing chemo. The Lord has been doing great things for her but she is still in pain at times. Please keep her in your prayers.

While all of this has been going on, we've been trying to fill in at church whenever we can. We don't have an associate pastor so Rocky is as close as it comes. Hopefully things will start calming down soon.

Meanwhile we booked our trip. Sept 4-11 at POP. Our friends are definitely going with us now! :cool1: And we got to use a pin for both of our rooms!:thumbsup2. We have our ADR's done (we're still hoping for free dining, though). Here they are....

I'm hoping we won't have to change too many things around. If anything we will drop one of our breakfasts. I'm working on my itinerary. Tweaking it keeps me sane. Otherwise I would go crazy before September.

Anyway, I'll be back soon with a mini trip report on our spring break trip to Gatlinburg, TN last weekend.

Hi everyone, although I think it may have lost all of my followers! I'm such a bad DIS poster. I love reading everyone else's updates and trip reports and chatter but I can't seem to find time to update on my own!

Anyway, We leave in 1 week!!!!! I can't wait!!! This weekend marks the beginning of packing! Which I hate more than anything! We have not gotten our package from our TA so I'm a little anxious. She is in WDW this week "working" so she said her husband sent it to us. I'm hoping I will get it soon.

Has anyone done the online check in yet? How do I get started? Is there a website I need to go to?

Anyway, better get back to work. Sorry again to my few followers! I promise to do better this week!

:cheer2:

I see we went to WDW around the same time. I went a week after you. I would love to see pics of your trip!
Its funny how you started off this PTR with snow & here we are, a year later with snow again!

I just realized that too! You're right. Here we are again. I'm hoping to start my trip report this week. I've suddenly got the inspiration...mainly because my husband has agreed to looking into another trip this August! :rolleyes1 So I've got the fever once again!
