I've been encouraged to post my questions here, despite the fact I have so many....

So I'll do it all in one thread so I don't fill the whole board up. Apologies if any of these have been answered elsewhere:

  1. How do we make reservations for a restaurant?
  2. Are the restaurants which require reservations worth a visit?
  3. Do you pay extra for eating in any restaurants?
  4. What are the pros/cons of eating early vs eating late?
  5. Is it ok to get on and off the ship during the day while we're in a port, for example, could we get back on the ship for lunch and leave again?
  6. On a 3 day cruise do you get time to see all of the ship and try a lil bit of every restaurant? This is pretty once in a lifetime for us so we want to do all we can!

That's all for now but I'll come and edit this post if I think of any more.....

1). No reservations required except for Palo, which has additional fee of $10 pp. The brunch is NOT to be missed. You can get reservations on-line or once you board the ship for brunch/dinner
2). You do not have to go to any restaurant, you could eat at Topsiders - the buffet on deck 9. I wouldn't miss any but it is up to you.
3). See #1
4). Early seating you may feel rushed getting to diner on time, late seating may be really late for your kids.
5). You can come/go as you wish while in port.
6). A 7 day cruise is not enough time on the ship ;) You can see everthing & eat at every restaurant in 3 days, but you may not feel you were ever on vacation...

  1. How do we make reservations for a restaurant?

The only restaurant that requires a reservation is Palo. Palo is an adult only restaurant and you can make these reservations in advance on disneycruise.com, or at the specifed spot when you get on the ship.
  2. Are the restaurants which require reservations worth a visit?
Palo is a very nice restaurant and woth a visit. On the three night you would have to skip one of the main restaurants to eat at Palo, or make a Palo reservation during opposite your dining time, then go to your regular dining room and have coffee and visit with your tablemates.
  3. Do you pay extra for eating in any restaurants?
There is a $10 fee per person to eat in Palo plus tip. You tip as if you are eating in a fine dining restaurant according to what you think the meal would cost. I would estimate tip at approx $30
  4. What are the pros/cons of eating early vs eating late?
  5. Is it ok to get on and off the ship during the day while we're in a port, for example, could we get back on the ship for lunch and leave again?
It is no problem to get on and off the ship as many times as you want on port days. In Nassau it is very easy, as everything is close to dock. You must have your photo id and key to the world card with you at all times to leave and get back on ship.
  6. On a 3 day cruise do you get time to see all of the ship and try a lil bit of every restaurant? This is pretty once in a lifetime for us so we want to do all we can!

There is so much to do on disney cruises, even on the 7 day you don't have enough time to do and see everything on the ship. You do and see what you can and enjoy at your own pace.

Don't stress, just go and enjoy the cruise!

On the 3 day cruise Brunch is not available unless this has changed.
