The Murdaugh Murders

I can't imagine putting in all of time and effort of sitting there for 6 weeks only to be dismissed at this point. What a waste of time.
I think it would be worse to be one of the alternates, having sat there for the same 6 weeks, but your opinion does not matter at all.

Good point. As someone who is self employed….I detest jury duty, so I feel for all of the jurors in this case. I understand how important it is, but it’s a big sacrifice for those folks.

The Defense just finished Closing Arguments.

The Defense Attorney tried to "force" himself to become emotional on Murdaugh's behalf in his last few sentences.

It was hilarious.
I’m listening to it…and it sounded really fake.

I live in the Lowcountry and work in the business. Hampton county was named one of the top nine "judicial hell holes" in the country in 2004, and nothing has changed. The Murdaughs are one of the major factors if not the major factor in that designation. I don't know anyone who doesn't think he killed his wife and son, but there are concerns that there will be a hung jury. After all, he's a Murdaugh.

What is the local take on Mr. Randall? Based on the way he is portrayed in relation to always bailing Paul out and his involvement in the hospital after the boat crash, I thought he was just as slimy as Alex.

But both Waters and Meadors mentioned him and seemed to think highly enough of him. I didn’t think they would bring him up at all if he was the person he was portrayed to be in the documentaries.

Paul did him in….stranger than fiction

Sorry …should have said Paw Paw

Did I see what I thought I saw?

When they took the convinced murderer out of the Courtroom the camera showed the Jury!

Isn't that a HUGE no-no?

I felt for his son watching the verdict read out loud, but I also know that this is the best thing for Buster. Yes, maybe he'll maintain a relationship with his father while he lives out his life in prison....but hopefully he can move on from this. It's just so sad. His father was someone who had been living a double life for many years....a drug addict and a thief, and when the pressure of those shameful acts began to heat up....old Alex just snapped.

The September fake "suicide shooting" thing really sealed it for me....just so whacky, and clearly someone who was just all wrapped up in himself. I remember thinking....most people who want to kill themselves....just kind of do it themselves. He's a malignant narcissist...and a sociopath. And he's one of those, like an OJ Simpson, who...if he got a not guilty verdict, would have just gone on acting as if he didn't do it.
