The Mummy

Is the MUMMY Ride a rollercoaster like Rockin Rollercoaster......are there alot of dips and sharp drops? Is this open yet? When is the opening? Thanks.

You know....... its very hard to find Mummy information on this board, I don't think there's enough information on it

Enough of me being a jerk (next time, it doesn't hurt to look, there's many topics on this answering your questions), I'll answer you anyways.

Revenge of the Mummy is a combination Dark ride and Roller coaster. The coaster portion launches up a hill, but it could be compared more to Space Mountain than RnRC, as Mummy has no inversions. Theres a few drops, but nothing too drastic, the 3 bits of airtime are fantastic though. On March 29th, RotM opened for Technical Rehearsals, but closed back down last Sunday. Grand Opening is scheduled for May 21st.

A little harsh don't you think? That is the kind of attitude I have come to expect from the WDW boards and not the Universal boards. You said it yourself, stop being a jerk. I think that Slacking was refering to there being at least 6 topics on the the first page alone about the Mummy. Maybe he could have said it in a more diplomatic way but you just flamed him quite harshly. I don't see anywhere that he even called you names; the same can't be said for your reply.

He also took the time to answer your question of which he not only did not get a thank-you but sarcasm from you. We are nice on this board but that works both ways.

Slacking is normally one of the kindest people you could ever meet. Yeah, he could have said it nicer but your reply didn't have to be so defensive. You totally over-reacted. Out of curiosity, I did a search of your posts on the Dis. I found over 20 posts where you said " BOY, I remember when these boards used to be FRIENDLY!!" It seems you may be a little quick to take offense. Most of us would have read Slacking's reply and said "Oops. I missed those other posts. Thanks for your information, now I'm off to read the other posts about Mummy." Just a suggestion and is easier than walking around with a chip on your shoulder.

Thanks for looking up my posts.....and I DID say about these boards being friendly in the PAST......I don't need YOU to go back and see what I say......nice to see you have so much free time......I will no longer use these boards as they have become so RUDE....why should I have said thank you to someone who is rude to ME...maybe I am tired of USING these boards and getting treated NASTY! Hey.......come on........sounds like there's been a bit of a misunderstanding here. You know....it can be difficult sometimes to read someone's emotions in texts........let's all have a drink and start again!!!
Anyone can ask any question.......sometimes questions are repeated over and over, but that's just because some people can't visit the boards everyday and the threads quickly disappear to page 2........I know I've read the same question thread loads of times about different things, but it's interesting anyway getting new perspectives on it.

It is like I said in my original post, this was out of character for Slacking. I am sure he went back and realized it was harsh after reading it later. There aren't as many of us who post over here on the USO boards so we tend to know each others personalities a little better. I didn't recognize your screen name so I wanted you to feel welcome on the Universal boards. Your response was also a little harsh. Give Slacking the benefit of doubt. You will find that generally the USO boards are a much nicer, friendlier atmosphere than the WDW boards.

Ok, Mickey, that was rather rude of me. In my post though, I jokingly acknowledged I was being a jerk, but not once did I attack you, so your post back to me was rather rude itself. Second, I did answer exactly what you were asking about the Mummy Ride. I know I could have worded it without my rudeness beforehand, but you got your answer.

I guess I could have gone without it being a jerk, but my point was that your same questions could easily have been found in posts located on the first 2 pages of this forum. I guess I just got frustrated with seeing the same questions over and over and over on a daily basis and I snapped. For that I apologize to you.

Phamton- thanks for putting in a good word for me while I was away and unable to respond. I probably should have just outright answered, or even just turn a blind eye.

Just as an aside, it's bad Netiquette to use all caps in any post. Typing in all caps is seen as yelling at someone. There are things you don't do, like mispell words in your resume and type in all caps in an e-mail.

Mickey1 - I'm sorry you feel you are being attacked. Everyone has a bad day on these boards. I've been there, and so many misunderstandings occured. I've come across a bit harsh in some of my posts, and I have come to regret it, because it was not my intention to hurt someone's feelings. I know this is the case for Slacking as well. I've met him in person, and he's a really nice guy.

I'm sure you'd come to like us, if you met us in person. We're not exactly vicious people, I can tell you (and I've met many people on these boards, to know). But if you decide hold a grudge against all of us on the DIS Boards due to one sporadic occurance, so be it.
