June 23, 2009: Day One, Part Three -Welcome to the Grand Floridian.
Utterly confused as to whether or not the parking lot attendant CM said the magical word concierge, we drove up to the curb where a CM was waiting with a luggage rack to transport our ridiculous amount of stuff. Little did he know 1 luggage rack would not be any match for all of our things.
It felt so very good to get out and stretch our legs. The CM started to unload the car on the luggage rack. We informed him that we were early and we were not sure if our room was ready and I think DH asked if he should go inside and check in with the front desk. The CM told us not to worry because someone would be right out to speak with us. Since we never stayed on property, we thought maybe this is how things are done at a deluxe resort.
The CM and another now continued to unload our car, they now realized they would need another luggage rack. We joked that we brought our entire house with us to Disney. While they were unloading the car and DH was taking care of the valet parking, a woman came out and addressed us as Mr. & Mrs. G. (obviously using our full last name), she informed us that our room was ready and she would be taking us right up, there was no need to visit the front desk and our 2 luggage racks would eventually meet us up in our room.
Of course, without any hesitation, we followed her! She began congratulating us on our honeymoon and said since it is the year of celebrations at the Walt Disney World Resort, the resort has upgraded us. At this point, I was ecstatic. She continued to tell us that instead of the standard garden view we booked, we would be staying all 8 nights in their private concierge building with a pool view.

She then continued to talk about the amenities that come with concierge, all I remember her saying is that there is food...a lot of food. Nothing wrong with that!! I was so excited that I really dont remember what she was saying, all I remember was walking through the main building, out the back doors, past the courtyard pool, and finally getting to our building.
We noticed there was a bit of construction going on outside out building, but we werent going to complain since it was an upgrade and we would barely be in our room anyways!
Our building!
When we walked into building, we saw that they had some of afternoon snacks out. We figured that must be all the food she was talking about. I remember it smelling really, really yummy! She took us to the elevator and led us to the second floor. I couldnt wait to see our room!!
Our oh so very comfy king bed!
Double sinks were definitely a plus and made getting ready a breeze!
Our pool view, which was a little blocked by a tree, but we still loved it!
The CM explained the Key to the World and how our dining plan works, she went through all the information in the little green folder they gave us, which was helpful since we were so new this on property thing. I really like the ease of having everything on that KTTW card. She showed us the concierge lounge schedule, and that is when we realized we brought way too much food! We had planned to eat breakfast in our room before heading out to the parks, so we brought a bunch of granola bars, cereal, and other breakfasty foods. I guess we wouldnt be needing that after all. The friendly CM apologized for the construction going on outside our building and said if it is a problem to just let them know. We explained that it would definitely not be a problem, besides we were in concierge and didnt even pay for it, plus we did the 4-3 deal!!!! Before she left , she said she had one last thing for us, and that is when she pulled out our Just Married pins!
We started to explore the room right when she left. We found the comfy robes, the H20 products (which I fell in love with!), and the fridge! We didnt really take that many pictures of our room so I got these from allears.com it is exactly what was in our room.
The cabinet under the TV has the fridge in it. We werent even done exploring the room when we heard a knock at the door. It was bell services with our insane amount of stuff! The CM brought it in and he told that he had ordered us another fridge since he noticed we had a lot of drinks and thinks to keep cold. We thought that was so nice of him to do, they really know how to take care of you at the GF!
While he unloaded our luggage he told us the pool outside our room was open 24 hours, he explained where the monorail was, but told us to get back to the MK, we should just take the boat launch which would drop us off right outside our building. I didnt even know there was a boat launch!!! We thanked him for his help and gave him his tip, which he definitely deserved!
We now had to decide what to do. We had 2 choices... unpack or explore the resort? We chose to explore and unpack later!
UP NEXT: We explore the GF & some other places too!
