The Mr & Mrs do disney Nov/Dec 09 - UPDATE : can the last one out turn the lights off

We all do it, we make our plans, we're happy and then we start thinking, and that's what causes our stress, it would be so helpful if once plans were made we could just walk away content, but no, it's a blessing and a curse to want the best out of a trip.

My two sense, unless you enjoy rearranging all your ADR's and park schedlues, stick with what you got and then stop second guessing. It's so easy for me to say this, I don't follow my own advice, but it's easier to see the picture more clear if you are looking at it from an outside view as opposed to being right in the middle.

Did you get the Kermit pin? I'm not a pin trader, but I love Kermit the Frog.

Yep, you're right - it's the second guessing that drives us insane :headache: Will let you know what we decide tonight but it'll probably be to stick with the plans we've made, just have a gut feeling.

Yep, I got kermit pin :yay: 3 in fact  One for me me, one for DH as a surprise and one for trading with :thumbsup2 DH has this floppy sun hat that he bought on our first trip in 2005 and he puts his pins around that. Mine are still just stuck in a bag from when I bought them so i've decided to dig them out - get some more and make some sort of display piece for my wall. Might try putting them in a mickey head shape or something

We (DD & I) are going to give pin trading a go this time around! I bought a mixed lot of 25 to use as our traders. I bought her various Christmas themed pins, one from Caribbean Beach Resort, a Red Sox one... Ebay is a godsend and a nightmare for pins! Once you get in, it's hard to come out :rotfl2:

pin trading confuses me so much! There are just so many choices. I was thinking of trying it out this time though..we'll see..you'll have to tell me what you think!

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that I think you should do the extra nights at WL- if you can afford it. If you can't afford it- then no way- but for me, I like being able to unpack at the beginning of my vacation, stay organized and not have to worry about it. Last vacation, I originally booked us an extra night at AsMusic, but changed it so we were at AKL Savannah view the first night- now I know it's only one night- but I was so happy with my choice, I couldn't imagine unpacking twice. Maybe you could stay on property the first 3 nights- at a value?- so you can get the extra nights, and then Disney will just transfer your luggage for you....just a thought!

That sounds great, i'm sure you two will have fun :goodvibes I've got bids on quite a few at the moment, just buying them to trade - but also sneaked in a few to keep, well, thats what happens when im let loose on ebay  I can't wait to buy some christmas ones when we are there :santa:

You should give it a go, we dont have a clue what we are doing either so I think we'll just try swapping with cast members first and ask them for advice :thumbsup2 I'm just gonna trade for ones that are cute

I've been thinking all sorts of different scenarios lately and we did think about staying at all stars for the first 3 nights :confused3 I'm gonna see what we decide on tonight. I'm gonna crunch some numbers first and see if there is any way of staying WL for all 9 nights and downgrade the food plan and maybe chop something else out too. I guess everything has got its pros and cons - I just want it sorted now because its doing my head in, I should be excited and instead i'm stressing - but thats normal for me :lmao:

Haha, I too did some shopping for the trip! I went to disneystore.com and bought a set of luggage and a bathroom travel bag, only to place the order and find out I could have gotten 20% off and free shipping, ugh!! Oh well, I still got free shipping with the one code I used but it's never too early to shop for Xmas or the Xmas trip!!

I know how you feel. I get myself all crazy about all the little stuff. But no worries because it will all work out for the best! We thought about down grading to the All Stars too, but once they released the free dinning, we decided to stay in POR and just really take advantage of the free dining. We've never stayed at Wilderness Lodge, have you been before? Is it a moderate or deluxe resort?

It will all work out and you will have a wonderful trip. I know the money gets to be such a stress and then you start to second guess yourself and wonder if it is all worth it. But the second I step foot in the parks all my doubts just disappear and I realize that it was ALL worth it!! :cloud9:

We've stayed at the wilderness lodge for a couple of nights on both our previous trips, we love it there :cloud9: I'm so excited to be there are christmas :santa: It's a deluxe resort on the lake near magic kingdom.

I know what you mean, we do all this planning and stressing but it totally gets forgotten about when you check in to your resort and then once you see the castle :cloud9: the hard work is definately worth it in the end :thumbsup2

WOOHOO We've decided :worship: and i'm sooooooo happy with the plans now - they are perfect and i'm bouncing off the walls :woohoo::woohoo:

After doing some number crunching (cutting out things we could do without on the trip) and changing a few ADR's and downgrading the dining plan - we are now staying at Wilderness Lodge for our whole trip :wizard::love::worship::banana:

I'm sooooooooo happy!! I love our new daily plans, everything seems to flow better and we've changed a couple of ADR's and have added in a couple of extras :wizard:

I'm 100% happy with this plan now and am sticking to it like glue :cloud9: I can feel it in my bones, this is the right plan for us

Thankyou everyone for your help and for putting up with crazy me  :grouphug:

We'll be needing an update of park days and ADR's now :)

But i've just tried to book our MVMCP tickets online - the transaction seemed to go through but it said this after I submitted my card details 'Your confirmation is currently pending due to system availability. You will soon receive an email to inform you of the status of your order once it's processed. If you have any questions please contact the Disney Tickets Online Guest Services via e-mail at ticket.inquiries@disneyworld.com or by calling (407)566-4985' Hope I get an email soon and that everything will be ok with booking

JoJo1980... Same thing happened to me when I tried to book my MVMCP tickets. The email arrived a few hours later. :) We're all set! I also received a call from my bank about the transaction on my credit card. Everything's cool. They had to make sure that no fraud is involved since it's an overseas purchase.

Signing on for some fantastic reading! popcorn::

Your plans look great. We have been to many of the restaurants you are going to!

BTW-Congrats on your Disney wedding and your first anniversary! :lovestruc

Hiya  Thanks for reading my crazy ramblings  I can't wait to eat my way through our ADR list, most of them are new to us so we're getting really excited! Thankyou for the congrats

We arrive at 10:30AM I believe. Don't you love flying "back in time"

You'll probably be coming on to disney property as i'm leaving :sad2: We are planning on leaving WL at 1pm ish * shudders * I hate talking about leaving when i've not even got there yet  You know, i've never even thought about it as flying back in time - that is so spooky now I think about it

So i've been thinking about all the things that are going to be on our must do list - this is growing by the second so who knows how big it will be by trip time

I'm going to make a spreadsheet workbook and seperate everything into categories and then take the print outs with us when we go so that I dont forget anything :surfweb:

These are some of the categories we've got at the moment - let me know if you think of anything else :thumbsup2

Snacks
Characters for photos
Rides / Shows
Shops
Parades / Fireworks
Christmassy things / decorations
Things to buy whilst there :woohoo:
Things to do - none park related, e.g EWP at WL, mini golf? etc...
Photos - A list of 'must have shots' e.g. pulling out the sword
Things to buy / pack / take - this will probably need its own huge spreadsheet :lmao:
Tasks to do - e.g. book car hire

As soon as we start building our lists i'll post them on here so you can all let me know what you think and we can share ideas and tips :wizard:
