That happened to me in Juarez one night. Very scary.

MEEE TOOOO!:scared1: That was an awesome movie, I still talk about that one today!

We get migrating birds here that swam in areas; they make lots of noise and cover the power lines; I always think of the birds. Still creeps me out.

I liked the old Blob; I saw a remake and it was really stupid. I should find a DVD with the original.

Another one I remember being creepy was one where 2 girls are baby sitting and make prank calls saying "I know what you did" or something like that. They call a guy that just killed his wife and he comes after them. I think that one has been remade too.

I'm feeling old now knowing that even the remakes of these movies are old now.

Night of the Living Dead

and

Invasion of the Body Snatchers...

Halloween, The Exorcist, and Nightmare on Elm Street.

My husband and I love horror movies, and we often laugh inappropriately during them. :rotfl: We actually find most quite amusing. I will admit though, The Shining still scares me.

To the OP ---

Yes, tonight we too watched The Birds in its entirety --- first of all, I couldn't believe HOW LONG it took to get to the bird scary part -- around 50 minutes. Husband and I remember seeing bits and pieces of it when we were kids. Notice no musical score either. ANd it was a very vague ending. It just stunk. I even shouted to the television set, "come on and scare me!!".

But I read on Wikipeida "The Birds" that a 2009 remake is in the works.

Zalansky ---

Yes, I remember that movie --- don't be afriad of the dark too..and very well, I've seen it several times and it always scared me. Haven't seen it in about 25 years now and would love to see it again.

Thanks for the memory and the Amazon excerpt....

Oh no...a remake?????

Yep, the birds freaked me out, as did The Blob.

I also remember a movie that was about barrels of radioactive sludge being dumped in the ocean and breaking open at the bottom. The sludge oozed out over the bones of dinosaurs/monsters that came out of the water and terrorized the town.. I know it was cheezy, but at 6, it scared me to death. There was this scene, where students were playing a prank by balacing a bucket of water on a door, and guess who came through the door.

My all-time scared and freaked me out movie was "Jaws". I still get a little freaked about going in the ocean...

Just found the title:

The Horror of Party Beach (1964)

It was a horror/beach/musical!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The Birds freaked me out too. :rotfl:

But there was one movie, I can't recall the name of it, but it was about these giant ants and they were attacking people. So lame and cheesy now, but not at the time!

Also who remember's the Land of the Lost tv show? OMG, those stupid Sleestaks with their horrible breathing sound scared the crap outta me!! :scared1:

But now as an adult I love being scared and it's hard to find a real good scary movie. Most are just gruesome and bloody and that is not the same thing.

ETA: The ant movie was called Empire of the Ants and starred Joan Collins. It came out in 1977 which means I was 6 when it was released. What the heck were my parents thinking letting a 6 year old watch that?? :sad2: :rotfl:

Ditto on the sleestaks, although they never scared me. They were just weird to me, and intriguing.

Did you ever see "Beginning of the End?" In that one, it's giant grasshoppers taking over the world. It was used for a MST3K movie that was hilarious.

The Birds is still one of my all time favorite movies. I watched it last night too and thought how much better it would be todays special effects.
