The Mother/Daughter Polynesian Surprise **NEW 5/1 I'm back!

If you've been wanting a video for a while, I'd say there's no better time!! You'll love the Nemo show!! REally. It's pretty close to the real story and the voices are amazing! I think I"m going to be a singer in Heaven. ;) Oh yeah, and an ice skater, and a ski jumper, and a pilot! :lmao:

I live in a town just outside the city of Toronto. Where abouts are you living now? Were you born in Ontario/Canada?

My folks were born and raised in Montreal and moved to PA a few months before I was born. I'm still here in PA, about an hour north of Baltimore. We're related to a Toronto celebrity (though I've never met him myself.) Mel Lastman is my father's first cousin. Mel's mom and my grandmother were sisters.

A more notorious connection we have to Toronto (if you're not a Maple Leafs fan, you won't know this one) is that some of my first Disney trips were made with the Ferguson family. Their son, John Jr., is a year younger than me, and was replaced as the general manager of the Leafs.

I have four first cousins and their families in and around Toronto, plus a bunch of more distant relatives. There is one family of (I believe) second cousins in Hamilton. There aren't too many left in Montreal, a lot left because of the political situation, but there are still a few. A couple of cousins are way out west (Vancouver and a little town that you can't get to by car...)

My dad moved himself and my mom here when they were pregnant with me for his job, but we are the only ones in the States. I actually have dual citizenship, though I don't have any immediate plans to move to the Great White North!

I just finished reading your November TR. We were that week and it was crowded. We stayed at Kidani. So, I'm in for this trip too. Do you live in Toronto? I have a bunch of family there.

:welcome: :cheer2::dance3::cheer2: Is that enough fanfare for ya? :rotfl: So glad you read my TR. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. No really! Thanks so much for reading it. I hope you liked it. I see you are a Kidani DVC owner (No I'm not jealous not at all :rolleyes1 ) but I would love any input you might have about the place since I'll be staying there for ONE night in a couple weeks. Anything that I must see? We'll be staying in a 1-bedroom suite.

Your trip is getting close, Jen!

I know, I know! Don't remind me :faint: I've been ridiculously busy, which I'll talk about in my update.

The video camera might be on the back burner for now. I don't think I'll have the $$$ before my trip. You've got me excited for the Nemo show. I should ask Bubba if she's seen it again since she started working. Wow! You've got a lot to keep you busy in heaven :lmao:

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOObody! :lmao: I love Montreal. Such a better city than Toronto. Most likely due to their music taste :rolleyes1

Used to be a Leafs fan, before they started to SUCK! Oh wait, they always sucked :lmao:

One of these years I should put my Disney fund towards a Vancouver vacation. Never been there and would love to see the mountains. It's great you know where all your family is.

Dual citizenship must be awesome. Wish I could have that :sad1: Well, it's not ALL "white" up here. We've had a relatively green winter. I could hardly say the same for Glen in PA :rotfl2:

Hey watch it....you know I monitor your PTR. ;)

At Kidani you need to 1) visit the pool and 2) find a place to sit and watch the animals for a little while. Are you going to have a savanna view or standard view? Oh, 3) maybe walk around and look at some of the art they have decorating the walls.

Kangaand2roos lives about a 2 hour drive due west of me. She gets all of my weather first! Except for these nor'easter storms, where we may get it worse.

What he said!! Oh, and we loved Saana(but I think you already ate there?)

We've gotten nearly six more inches tonight so far, with no end in sight. Really, it's kind of crazy! I don't know what on earth they're going to do it all!

BTW...I don't believe I've properly introduced myself to any of you. The name is Stacey. But, I will answer to Kanga, mommy, Annika's mom, Charlie's mom or any derrivation of the above. :upsidedow

WOW!!! is all I can say about the last week. I have completed the move to my dad's house. I was able to bring all my crap over in only 3 trips! You never realize how much stuff you have until you need to move it :faint: :rotfl2:

In the midst of my moving in, I killed 4 - 4 - spiders! 3 of which within 5 minutes. It was super gross. There was a big fat black hairy one. They better high tail it out of my room pretty soon or else they're gonna be flattened! YUCK!

Where has the time gone? Seriously! I'm going to be in the World in less than 11 days!!!! I'm super excited but at the same time haven't had much opportunity to think about it. Work has also been keeping me very busy. There's no time to check the boards when I'm there, so I apologize for being MIA lately. I have tons of PTRs and TRs to catch up on. No rest for the weary :upsidedow I'm addicted to the DIS so it's not like I will ever take break. No matter how overwhelmed I am.

Air Canada is being a real poo-poo head about their fares. I've been checking them almost everyday to see if that $89 fare will return. If that happens, I could change my return date to the 25th for $75 vs. the $300+ it would cost me if I did it now. :headache: Somebody regulate these airlines!!! Anyone?

Bubba told me today that her two week extension got denied :sad2: When she first told us, she thought surely she'd be getting at least two weeks. But it doesn't look like that's even going to happen. Tomorrow she's going to beg to her managers (or whoever is in charge of extensions) to try and get it. I'm crossing my fingers and toes for her :worship:

Earlier this month, Bubba celebrated her Disney grad from the International program since she's nearly finished her one year contract.

She looks so grown up in this picture. I'm so very proud of her.

Now here are the plans for our last and final day:

211qump.jpg

It's Boma time, baby! :woohoo: They better have zebra domes because they look so ooey gooey good and I've never had the chance to try one!! I added this kinda at the last minute (well not really, it was over a month ago) because we missed it in November. To make sure there is no repeat of that previous hiccup, I have made our ADR for 9am. There's absolutely no excuse that we can't make it. I've heard it's quite a hike from Kidani to Jambo. Is this true? What do you recommend we do: walk or drive?

Our adventure for our last day will be taking a leisurely trail ride on my favourite animal in the world. :cloud9: I hope to get a respectable horse. I won't put up with any horsing around :rotfl2: Apparently we have to get there at least 30 mins prior. Not sure why but perhaps it's to make sure everyone gets settled with a horse before we head out. I'm really looking forward to this. Especially since I started riding again.

The afternoon is more free time to do what we want. I just realized I haven't even scheduled a lunch/snack :scared1: There's bound to be snack credits a plenty left over to use up. Maybe we'll take that time to go to DD?

Bubba has requested......okay DEMANDED :lmao: we be at Tink's (Bubba's friend who picked me up from the airport in November) goodbye party at Le Cellier. If you don't remember Tink, here she is again:

21bjg9x.jpg

Her contract is ending at the end of Feb, I think her last week is the week I'm there. Great timing :headache: I don't feel guilty since her, Bubba and another friend are going on a huge road trip through the states and across Canada WITHOUT ME! :snooty: Bubba better takes lots of pictures because I know I'll never get that opportunity. Well, until I'm 60 and retired

Bubba wants to try and get in for lunch here but it'll all depend on timing.

Then it's off to the airport :sad1: Oh, and then I can start counting down my next trip :goodvibes

They're calling for snow here starting tonight and tomorrow. First biggish snowfall all winter..... or at least since December. It'll be interesting to see what I wake up tomorrow morning.

Alrighty. I'm off to catch up on my subscriptions! Keep out of trouble pirate:

Lots of post material there, Jen!

The trailrides do sound very fun and relaxing. I hope see some interesting wildlife and have a blast. And NO horsing around!!! :lmao:

Hope you also can score a table at Le Cell. yeah, the nerve of them all going on a road trip without you! Hmmmph! I hope they have a lot of cash, though. Food alone is spendy!

Only 11 days to go!!! Woot!! :woohoo:

It depends where you are in Kidani. We were almost as close to the Jambo lobby as we were to the Kidani! We walked all of the time!

Woo hoo for 11 days! It is crazy how fast the time goes by...we still have 50-some days before our trip but it seems like I just started counting down from 100!

Mmm, zebra domes are so good. I hope you get to try them!

Sometimes I ramble.....sorry

I intend to take a picture while on the horse if they allow me. You know, one of those shots of the horses neck? It'd make for very cool perspective!

Hey, I never even thought of that. I'm sure they have though. I'm going to be the one who ends up having to scout out hotels for them since I'm the TA in the family  I'll have to make sure they get free breakfast at where ever they stay. Thanks for that reminder.

Only 11 days to go!!! Woot!! :woohoo:

Now it's only TEN!!!!! :dance3::banana::rotfl::yay::woohoo:

Good to know. I thought all the rooms were far away. Did you still get a nice savannah view being so close to Jambo?

I know. You wait and wait and wait for the trip, then it comes, and then it's over before you know it! I'm actually hoping these last 10 days will drag  I see you have a PTR going on for April. Have I joined in over there? I can't remember :rotfl: Looks like another PTR to add to my list of subscriptions :surfweb:

Mmm, zebra domes are so good. I hope you get to try them!

Me too!

Our Savannah view was amazing! We could see all our immediate view and all the way over to Jambo as well! We were right next to one of the feeding stations so we had lots of critters right outside of the balcony!!

10 days, 10 days!!! :cheer2::cheer2: Tomorrow is single digits!!

Wow! I hope I get as lucky as you did!

10 days, 10 days!!! :cheer2::cheer2: Tomorrow is single digits!!

OMG, OMG, OMG :hyper: I can't believe it's almost here!

Single digits, girl! :woohoo:

I can't wait to hear about the trail ride - I honestly didn't think they still did that there. Wonder what age you have to be? I took Jenna riding for the first time this fall, but Lucy was too young. We'll have to look into it...

Out, Out spiders! :cat:

Time for single digit dance :woohoo::banana::yay::dance3::cheer2::woohoo:

I can't believe it. 9 days until I'm back in the World. It's coming down to the wire and I haven't even started a packing list :scared1: The weather for the days I'm there is looking to be a little colder than I'd like it to be. Anything is better than here right now (-10 Celsius) but I was hoping to get away from sweaters and jackets. Here is what accuweather is predicting:

Feb 20 - High 71, Low 52 Rain :umbrella:
Feb 21 - High 70, Low 51 Cloudy with sun
Feb 22 - High 69, Low 53 Cloudy with sun
Feb 23 - High 74, Low 54 Cloudy with sun
Feb 24 - High 75, Low 56 Variable cloudiness

I'm not very happy about that rain on our first day. Hopefully this will change but if it doesn't, we'll be spending quite a bit of time in Innoventions at Epcot. This should keep us dry. Better bring my poncho just in case.... In September two years ago, it rained quite a few days during our trip. I did not let this fact deter us from going out and enjoying ourselves. We even sat in the pouring rain during a thunderstorm waiting for Fantasmic. The CMs thought we were nuts :lmao: They kept telling us to "take shelter" and that Fantasmic might even be cancelled (which it wasn't) due to the weather. But I didn't care! My poor mom and Bubba put up with my determination and we sat out in the rain. Eventually we took refuge in the stores until the rain subsided. To get an idea just how wet we got:

I don't look impressed but truly I was laughing on the inside

Not even our ponchos kept the water out :lmao:

My poor mom. Such a trooper!

One of the best memories we've had. I'm surprised my mom still wants to go on trips with me after that trip :rotfl2: No storm is keeping me from my Disney!

It doesn't look like the temps will exceed 75F, which kinda stinks. I know I'm going to be cold at night, which means packing a couple hoodies is in order. I'll have to keep checking the weather as the dates get closer to get a good idea of what to pack. Maybe a mixture? T-shirts, pants, capris, hoodies, etc.
I've been to Disney in February before but it was two years ago now. Anyone have an idea of what I should pack?

:dance3::woohoo::dance3:Single Digits!!! :dance3::woohoo::dance3:

Hoodies, definitely hoodies! I wish it would be warmer for you too, but sounds like you are old pros at touring in iffy weather anyways.

LOL! We've got you beat by 15 more negative degrees!! I'm freezing my ninnies off!

Single digits!!! :banana::cool1::banana:

First, it is not a long walk at all from Kidani to Jambo, about 10 minutes from lobby to lobby. You're young, you can handle it. Makes me think of that babysitter girl from The Incredibles: "Who can handle it? Who can handle it?" I love that quote.

Wow, you guys got wet waiting for Fantasmic. Makes for good memories though.

Single digits!

Wow! You really got soaked that time even with your ponchos.

I guess if it *had* to rain one of the days at WDW, I would prefer it to rain on the first day and have the rest be sunny.
