The Most Unusual Holiday Decoration

It was only up for a few days,but there was a wreath on the Main Street USA clock!

The reason-Disney wants to preserve the "illusion" that the Disney Parks Christmas Day parade is a "live" event on December 25.

It really is a strange site to see.

I guess that is easier than just stopping to clock, I wonder if the clocks are controlled remotely or manually.

Funny. Now that you mention clocks, I did notice on Saturday, December 3rd (the day that Justin Bieber performed at Magic Kingdom), the clock on the castle had been stopped at 12 o'clock and was not running. I didn't realize that it may have had something to do with maintaining continuity on the parade broadcast.

I've spent most of my life in the video production business.

Clocks are some of the most problematic of all "natural props" that can be encountered.

They are often very visible in shooting locations, and everyone tends to
(naturally) look at them when they appear in the shot.

If you stop them, viewers will often comment on the fact that they must be broken.
If you let them run, viewers will often comment on the discontinuity of time (jumping forward or back) due to the editing together of multiple takes.

If the wreath(s) (seen in the photo) hanging on the clock faces can effectively block the view of the clock display, that's an interesting solution.

I think that a better one would be to cut out a section of "frost gel" (looks like waxed paper) and cover the face of any clock.

It (basically) just makes the clock face go "out of focus" so the time can't be read.
