Greetings everyone! I'm heading to WDW this June to celebrate my first wedding anniversary with my wife :) We each decided to take one day out of our trip and plan a "surprise" day for each other. One day where I plan all the surprises for her and vice versa...

I want to know what you think would be the most romantic dinner possible. Obviously price plays into that...but I'm willing to listen to any and every idea. This can take place in a restaurant in the parks, or anywhere within the resort. If you guys could help me brainstorm, that would be awesome! Thanks :)

God Bless,

Ryan

When we were in Disney 8 years ago my DW took me out for dinner. Not knowing were she was taking me, we went up the the California Grill. WE had the corner table by the castle it was :woohoo: . The meal was :thumbsup2 and the waiter he was :thumbsup2 . Priceless :lovestruc have fun

Good ideas here. Others: Jiko, in the AKL is very nice, good food, great SA wine list; Bistro de Paris, upstairs in France (EPCOT), you can ask for a window seat, look out on WS. FWIW.

Call Hoopty Doo, tell them it is your first wedding anniversary, and see if they will give you -THE- FRONT table. They will know it. Ask for the table where the dinner show actors LOVE to torment wedding anniversary couples... It will make a nice suprse. (Might not be cheap though....)

I planned a private dinner at the GF as a surprise for DH to celebrate our 15th anniversary last year. It was wonderful! We had our own butler and a romantic private nook on the 5th (I think!) floor. We would've been outside, but it stormed that night. But it worked out great, as we could hear the live music from the lobby. I worked with Linda in private dining at the GF. Our meal consisted of champagne, salad, crab cake appetizers, an entree of filet and lobster tail, and a custom cake for dessert. Including tax, butler fee, and gratuity, the meal came to $400. It was by far the most expensive meal DH & I have ever had, but it was worth every penny! I chose this option over V&A mainly because our tastes aren't quite as gourmet as dishes I've seen from there. We like variety, but hated to pay that much for a meal we might not like.

Have fun planning!

Jiko is unbelievable! :) I have selected it for our dinner reservations on the first night of our honeymoon this June.

go on a breathless boat firework cruise, they will serve food if u request and pay, its dreamy for a special occ.!

Just took the dw to California Grill on 3-12 for her birthday. She says she will never forget it and was best birthday ever. Watching wishes from the observation deck was awesome. I called the cake hot-line and had a personalized cake ready for desert suprise:thumbsup2.

We at at Cinderella's Royal Table on the first night of our honeymoon and it was very romantic. I happened to book the last seating time possible which was about 15 minutes before closing time (and Wishes). The place was about half empty and there were very few children. As we were waiting for our appetizers, the lights dimmed and we heard/watched Wishes out the stained glass windows in the back of the restaurant. We then had a leisurely meal (we were not rushed one bit). We finally left CRT about an hour after the park closed, and we had a nice romantic walk down an empty Main Street.

I had no idea when booking that it would turn out quite so romantic, but it certainly was a magial way to start our honeymoon!

narcoossees is my favorite! or i like te idea of a wishes cruise or private dining soemwher,e but that can be $$$$

L O V E D the CG... My dh took me there for my b-day & I loved it. Our waiter was named Walt, our table was right next to the window. They pipe wishes music thru the speakers during the firework show and dim the lights. You can also watch it from the observation deck. They personalized a cake and afterwards we went back to our resort (POR) for a wonderful horse and carriage ride. It was a very magical night! :wizard:

For a quiet romantic meal:
1. V&As
2. Bistro de Paris
3. Jiko at AKL

All three are really good restaurants. I know V&A is expensive but it was worth every penny we spent there in December. We plan to go back in September. Bistro is fun esp if you get a window seat. If you decide on Jiko go early to see the animals outside and sit at the bar over looking Boma.

Personally CG and Narcoosee were not romantic at all to us. Both were extremely loud and packed which doesn't make for a romantic dinner in my opinion.

1. Victoria and Alberts
2. Cali Grill
3. Jiko
4. Grand floridian Private dining (they can set it up even if you are not styaing at the GF as long as you are on property- I am also planning this with Linda for my first anniversary in June)
5. Narcoosee's
6. Bistro De Paris

Victoria and Albert's is one of the most amazing, romantic (expensive!) restaurants I have ever been to in my life (not just at WDW).

It is very expensive though - but what an experience. The food is delicious and beautifully presented and the service is perfect.

What a sweet idea. You've gotten recommendations for most of the signature restaurants (BTW, my favorite is CG, but it can be kind of hectic/noisy in there. I've also eaten at AP, much calmer atmosphere, beautiful resort, the food was good, but I found the menu to be kind of limited), and I guess that I would just suggest that expense does not a romantic dinner make. If you want to go a different way, go to the Boulangerie Patisserie in EPCOT and pick up some provisions (I believe you can also purchase a little vino at the French Pavillion, although I do not know where)and find some benches out of the way (I believe there are some by the gardens to the side) and have a little al fresco dinner. What could be more romantic than having the Eiffel Tower in the background?

Have fun!

Has anyone been to Citrico's? My fiancee and I are thinking of going there during our honeymoon - is it worth adding to our list?

Thanks,
Nathan

We like Citrico's and go almost every trip. The food has always been good and usually its not that crowded. They have a crab app that is really good and the lamb is very good.

Please keep your wife's personality in mind with this one. Some folks would love this kind of attention - I would bury my wife under The Leave a Legacy Tombstones in Epcot if she did this to me.

:rotfl:
