The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

Hey! New readers!! :thumbsup2 Nice!

I had high hopes of actually finishing up the 5 bucks tonight, but am bushed. need to get this carcass to bed. Was on the phone again wtih ROTC- good news: FREE RIDE!!!!!! :woohoo: Bad news: paper work is a hassle- since we live overseas they need to get overrides to get acceptance docs faxed. Blech!!

Talk to ya'll tomorrow! :goodvibes

Hey, it's been pretty cold here for the last week or so due to a Canadian cold air mass. Did you forget to close the freezer door again?

Hardy har har :p Actually it's relatively mild (for winter) here today. I actually didn't have to put on the long underwear! :lmao:

Well don't pack it away just yet. There's still plenty of winter left.

We're supposed to get a big snowstorm tomorrow, but the worst of it may actually pass to the south. We'll see.

Great wrap up on the Pchef trip, Glenn. That palace was gorgeous. Unbelievable. I can't believe the five-star treatment that Pchef gave you guys. I mean, free airfare and hotel would be a fantastic bonus - but all the tours and first class entertainment and dinners? That's a great way to reward the reps for all their hard work. I wish my husband's company did that! Heck, I just wish they'd unfreeze salaries at this point.

Don't jinx me!

That's what I've heard. Thankfully it's missing us :yay:

:welcome: mickeymouse108!

Glad you're checking in, and thanks for saying "hi"!

I see your signature says you'll be going to the World in 2010...what month? I guess it'll be your first stay at POR? We love it there.

Edited -- Ooops. Now I see that your signature indicates you've stayed at POR before. Guess you like it too.

Thanks. Oh, I shouldn't have given you the impression that the tours were included. I didn't think of that. What was included was the airfare, the hotel (in Vienna), breakfasts, the welcome dinner and the farewell dinner at Hofburg Palace. The excursions were extra. The Mozart walking tour was booked through their travel company, and I could have done the same with the Schonbrunn, but I researched it online and saw that what they were charging was really excessive. I was able to figure out public transportation and pay "at the door" for the tour much more cheaply. I'm glad it made me research using the u-bahn because then we felt free to go all over. I talked to other PChef people who only explored as far as they could walk from the hotel, and even only ate in the hotel restaurant. :confused3 I wanted to see a lot more than that!

Now they're predicting a foot of snow for us.

I know the withdrawal feeling. Must. Go. To. Mouse.

We were there over the 4th last summer. It'll be busy....but doable. Have a plan. Work the plan. Use fastpasses. Leave the park when it gets too hot, and go enjoy that great pool they have at POR.

We've yet to see a snowflake!

We've yet to see a snowflake!

Wha? Too much warmth from the ocean?

Where we are, the effect of the ocean usually keeps the snow accumulation down, for the usual path of weather -- west to east. But this one's a "nor-easter" that kind of comes up the coast, and we tend to get dumped on.

Brrrr... too much cold talk here!! Today it's MINUS 6 F out!! Poor puppies, if they didn't poop all over the floor, I'd let them in, but that gets old quickly!

See what all your planning skills you learned here on the boards got you for your trip! Pays to plan! :thumbsup2

Ooooo, that's cold. The only bad thing with it being warmer here is that this storm they predicting will be wet, heavy snow. I prefer the fluffy stuff. I've got a small snowblower that can't handle it when it's wet. Hopefully it'll be cold enough.

Looks like best case we're expecting 10 or 11 inches...Worst case, a foot and a half! At least it's the weekend and John will be in town. I have kind of a bad back and neck and shoveling isn't good for me. I do it if I have to but usually pay for it!

Does everybody have their bread, milk and toilet paper? I guess there's nothing to do now but sit back and see what happens popcorn:: .Everybody be safe and keep warm!

just starting to rain here....

Time to get outta Dodge.

Let's hope it stays there and doesn't follow you! :thumbsup2

Yes. Looks like he should be good to go.

My back can't handle the shoveling either. I can do it, but then I pay for it for about a week.

Judy got milk for us last night, but only 1 gallon. I was like, "um, I would've gotten 2".

I'm going to finish up the 5Bucks report tonight. I'll edit my comments into here. I'm ready for the grand finale!:thumbsup2

First off, I'm glad you started out with DHS. It's my least favorite park, and I would have wanted to end it with something really nice like AK. Just me though, I"m sure you had other reasons you did it that way.

Anyway, was totally cracking up at "James talking trash". Too funny!

I'll have to remember the single rider hint at TSM. I might "suggest" on the sly that maroo and LeeAnn go ahead and ride together- They have a lot of fun! :rolleyes1 (and I"ll smoke their pants off)

Nice HM work there on the cords in RnRC!! I found a few like that too, and was pretty stoked. I know, pretty geeky.

You were FiP holding maniacs! I"m loving how those VIP thingys worked.

Can I just be a little enquiring?? What is wrong with that tiger in your last picture?? He looks like he's been run over by a bus. :confused3 Are they all that flat?

I may have another idea for a photo theme now. Fountains. Some of the theming around them is pretty cool!

Whooops! FANNY PACK PANIC!! Been there- done that. Know that gut sinking feeling. So glad she found it! Finding a new inhaler would have been a huge pain! :thumbsup2

Let 'er rip....I'll edit my responses into here.

I don't remember why we went to DHS first, but I'm sure we had some reasoning.

James loves videogames and hates to lose. I haven't told him about Disney Quest yet. :rolleyes1

There you go! Strategy right from the start.

Jenbear, if you're reading this, you still have to ride with Bubba. No unfair advantages for you.

That one pretty much jumped out at me.

You were FiP holding maniacs! I"m loving how those VIP thingys worked.

Fastpass is one of the best Disney "innoventions" ever. The VIP ones were the bomb.

Can I just be a little enquiring?? What is wrong with that tiger in your last picture?? He looks like he's been run over by a bus. :confused3 Are they all that flat?

I had to go look at what you were talking about. He's laying in about 6-8" of water, so you've got a light refraction thing going on.

I may have another idea for a photo theme now. Fountains. Some of the theming around them is pretty cool!

Oooo, that would be good. Now are you talking drinking fountains only, or also decorative ones? The theming at AK is especially good.

Whooops! FANNY PACK PANIC!! Been there- done that. Know that gut sinking feeling. So glad she found it! Finding a new inhaler would have been a huge pain! :thumbsup2

Yep, she was very worried. I was kinda surprised we hadn't lost something before that point.
