The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

Wow, that must have been some night to remember. Every thing looked so beautiful. Why didn't they do that years ago when I sold Tupperware?

WOW!! I can't believe your dinner in the palace! It looked beautiful...those pampered chef people must be making alot of dough.

We kept saying we couldn't believe it either. Believe me, this particular group of salespeople had sold a lot. Judy worked her butt off to get us there, and she just barely made it. They are good about rewarding varying levels of contribution. For example, this was the "upper level" trip (I don't remember where the lower trip was), then other people with even higher sales got day-trips to Salzburg (I mentioned in the TR somewhere that L earned this) and even a couple of extra days in Prague after Vienna. People in that category were probably the top 1-2% in the company, I'm guessing.

I guess I don't get the beethoven frieze......when I think of beethoven naked people isn't what springs to my mind.:confused3 But then, I'm no lover of modern or impressionist art.

Yeah, it doesn't really bring Beethoven to mind, does it? :rotfl2:

I love impressionist art, like Monet or Van Gogh. Modern art, where you look at it and go, "I could've done that", not so much.

The church was gorgeous and the tiled roof....it makes our architecture look very bland.

I agree. And some of these cathedrals took decades to build. People worked on them and they weren't even completed in their lifetimes. We have no concept of something like that.

I'm so glad you shared your trip with us! I love seeing new places and dreaming of one day visiting myself.

You are so welcome! Seize the day!

It absolutely was....I will never forget it.

I can't speak to T-ware!

All those great pictures of the architecture..and what do I notice first? The Golden Arches.;)

What a fantastic dinner....!!! The appetizers look a bit too foo foo for me. Were they good. i am NOT an adventurous eater.

So all the people there at the dinner are from the PChef around the globe? How cool is that!

And I thought there was WOW factor before! That was one amazing evening! I would love to hear the boys' choir sing someday. You used a good word- angelic. I've heard recordings, but I imagine in a hall like that, you got an even better feel for what they can really do. How fun!

Jordan thinks it's all foo-foo. They looked great to me. I'd probably have thoguht the shrimp was the best too. Even though we live in THE place for caviar, I really don't like it. At our local airport, in the international terminal, there is a kiosk called the "House of Caviar". :lmao: I don't know why that is always so funny to me. Anyway, just too salty for me. and fishy, and the texture, let's not even go there.

The whole thing is just up my alley. Alas, it's tough having an ecclesiastical budget with Queen Elizabeth's taste. (no comments are necessary) :rotfl2:

It's been a wonderful TR, Glenn! Really, your pictures are all very beautiful and you brought a piece of the world to us. THANKS! I completely know how much work goes into every update, and I really appreciate your pressing on!

Now, more planning! popcorn::

Oh yeah....

That is one "loaded" table!! There are more wine glasses there than there are mammaries on the frieze!

I noticed that too when I was loading these pictures! I hadn't really noticed it before.

They were pretty good. Plenty of new things for me to try, but ya gotta live a little, right? At least they didn't serve appetizers like from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" (I can just hear that guy saying, "chilled monkey brains").

Yup!

I thought you'd like it. :)

"Angelic" is really the only word to describe hearing them. And since it was a surprise for all of us attendees, we couldn't believe it was happening. It's a good thing they sang a few songs to give it time to sink in and let us savor the moment.

I don't remember if the shrimp were de-veined or not. They probably were, being Hofburg Palace and all. But I'm sure they were cooked. :rotfl:

I love the "House of Caviar" name! It sounds like they wanted something classy, but kind of missed the boat. Instead it conjures up "Waffle House of Caviar".

The whole thing is just up my alley. Alas, it's tough having an ecclesiastical budget with Queen Elizabeth's taste. (no comments are necessary) :rotfl2:

My tongue hurts from biting it.

Aw, I thought I was going to get a little break.

what were those main entrees?

Mine (the first picture of entrees) was filet mignon (I think). Judy's was some kind of fish. The fish is the outer portion. It's wrapped around something, and I have no idea what!. She took a bite (that turkey) before I could get the picture taken, so a little piece of fish is missing.

Oh yeah....

That is one "loaded" table!! There are more wine glasses there than there are mammaries on the frieze!

Oh yeah, and they kept the glasses full at all times. You took a couple sips and they came by and topped 'em off.

They were all Austrian wines. I think they're known for white wines, but we had red also. I don't think they even export reds.

The whole thing makes we wonder if the Austrian Bureau of Tourism wasn't somehow involved? Maybe even a sponsor?? :confused3 It would kinda be the ultimate ad for future tourism/ business there.

I don't know....could be. It wouldn't surprise me if PChef tried to use the many people they were bringing to the city as a little leverage.

Sorry, I should have called her something that wasn't a food. :rotfl:

Hello! Subbing in to your per trippy. Living vicarously through other people planning. I am still reading. Where at in PA are you? I am from PA too. The reason I am asking ( sorry to bring you back ) The tree farm you were at looks alot like the tree farm my family goes to.

Well, :welcome: amartinwagner!

Good to have a fellow Pennsylvanian along. We live in the "tri-state area" (to borrow from Phineas and Ferb) which is the southeast corner of the state near DE and MD. That tree farm is along the scenic Rt. 41.

For the WDW trip this June, part of it will be an "incentive trip" that my wife earned through her direct-selling business. So, we just finished up a "flashback" trip report of a non-Disney trip we took to Vienna that she earned in 2006.

For some Disney-related vicarious reading, may I recommend my completed TR from our trip last summer? The link is in my signature -- the "I Paid Someone $5" one.

OK, done with 2 more installments on the $5 TR. Sorry it's taking me sooooo long to just hurry up and finish up, but you know how life is. I spent 2 hours on the phone with WKU for Andrew tonight, and it sucked the life out of me. Housing this, financial aide that... Blech!!

So, what can I say about the fireworks? You take really great pictures! Obviously you have a bit more than a P&S, right? I "practiced" at NYE here and came up with ka-ka. Maroo can take ours.

I haven't seen Spectro yet, but am looking forward to it. Normally, I'm not a parad-y type of gal, but this one somehow reminds me of the Mn. St. Electrical, whose music still bring tears to my eyes. WAH! Why did they take my beloved MSEP away?!!

but somehow I don't think the MSEP had funky disco balls on every float?? :confused3

DHS day: Yes, those would be Brazilians, and although I haven't gotten to the worst of what you may say, I have a bad feeling about this....

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, but I'm votin for Judy's Goofy, although you all did very well. Tell James with a little practice he too could work for Disney!

Now it's 1:49 and I"m calling it quits for the night. :goodvibes
