The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

I wonder if ADAMANDLISA need an invite to our little soiree in DC?? I'm up to 6 people confirmed.

Did CYnthia say NEXT WEEK??!! Where did this year go?

We live over in the Hermitage area about an hour north of Pittsburgh in my husband's hometown. I've lived all over the place, but mainly in Canfield, Oh...a little town near Youngstown, OH.

Okay, I see where you are.

We did the drive the end of January and it really wasn't bad, with the exception of a crazy blizzard in NC and the stomach flu. The kids did really good....and I'm hoping that this time goes as smoothly!;) (without the stomach flu and the blizzard of course:rotfl:)

Sounds like if you can get rid of those two nasty things, you'll have a good trip. It's really not that bad, driving down.

That is such a bummer about finals, ugh! Why she can't take it early is beyond me.

Next week!!!!!!!!! I too am curious to see what you think of CSR. I tell you, right now my budget brain wishes we were staying at a mod.

Yup, next week! But you're making the big bucks now, right?

You must tell me of this little soiree you speak of!popcorn::

Liesa (All7OfUs) is swinging through our neck of the woods, meaning the east coast of the U.S., later this summer. (In comparison to central Asia, it's "our neck of the woods".) So, on Sunday August 29th, some of us DISers are going to meet up in Bethesda, MD, have some lunch, catch the metro into D.C., do some sight-seeing, then metro back to Bethesda for dinner and return home with TR memories in our heads and TR pics on our memory cards. D.C. is a little far from western PA, but you're welcome to join us.

We're almost there, Glennbo...do you have as much to do as I do?!?!?!? But the six page paper is written...talk about a load off the back! :cool1:

Hope your daughter doesn't worry too much about finals over the trip...I'm with a previous poster - as a teacher, I wouldn't want to go back and administer them! I wonder if they'll leave them in the office and let the poor secretaries administer them??

Gotta run - we've packed the week (like idiots) with gymnastics camp, swim lessons, and the occasional birthday party...plus my other summer class to finish for the week...:surfweb: (There really are times that I wish I liked coffee!) Hope things are going well, and that you're getting things put together!

yeah, big bucks :rotfl:

it's the 11 night aspect that's killing me $$ wise....we actually have good deals on everything, it's just the total length of the trip. It will be worth it though, we need a long vacation!

Yes, we're almost there! :cool1: Congrats on getting your paper done!

I'll bet they do.

Well, we still have school of course, but Marlene has started swim team practice during the evenings, and James has flag football, and I have a church finance committee meeting, and a meeting about James being in band next year, and.....well, you get the idea. You're livin' it too! :)

That length of a trip would be great. You won't feel like you have to cram everything in....it can actually be fun and relaxing!

That's so neat!!!

I thought so too. And just think -- if the picture were taken a split-second later, the dad and kid in the stroller would have been hidden behind Smee.

I saw that earlier. Isn't that something?

Indeed!

That was neat. Small world. But does that really constitute as news? :confused3 Must've been a slow news day.

Aw c'mon Jenbear, it's a nice human interest story. What fun would the news be if it was just all murders, fires, oil spills, and stock market crashes?

Thanks for covering me there with the Meet Info. I am only on for a few minutes tonight as I MUST get to bed NOW!! TTYL.

Yep. Everyone's been telling me for years that this time was coming, and it's definitely here. So I guess you're telling me it'll be this way for a while.....:faint:

What a cool story!

Your time has nearly arrived my friend. Can you fill the tingle? Can you? CAN YOU? Let me hear it now! Get your dance on brother! It's 'pert near Disney Time!

Well, kinda. It's just been pretty hectic here with end of school year stuff. We're making progress at packing a little bit every day and we will be ready when the time comes!

But your post is definitely helping me get psyched. So...

:cool1:
:dance3:

I don't even watch the news anymore. Bums me out too much. If I do take a quick peek, I go to the BBC World News site, where I can see bombs, worldwide financial crises, and which dog won the "best breed of the year". :sad2: Best to stay here....

Thanks for the invite!:goodvibes We were actually planning on doing DC next week, but it turned out WDW was cheaper for us!

DH and I used to live over in Hagerstown when he was stationed at Camp David and we have family friends in Laytonsville! We really need to get that way soon, but it'll probably be next year.

I don't know why I'm even on here...so much to do, so much to pack!:lmao:

What an interesting story, thanks for posting the link!! :goodvibes

I am always surprised that it doesn't happen more often on here that one DISer is in another one's pictures.

I worked in the Gaithersburg/Rockville area a couple of decades ago.

If you see me around the resort next week, make sure you say "hi".

What an interesting story, thanks for posting the link!! :goodvibes

You're welcome.

I think I saw someone reference a thread that was devoted to that, but I don't know where it is.

BBC World is the most respectable news out there right now. Not saying I don't appreciate the odd "light-hearted" report, it at least gives you the facts with no bullpoop. I agree it's depressing right now. That's why a trip to Disney is so refreshing!
