The Monday after Thanksgiving

DO NOT DO IT! I REPEAT, DO NOT DO IT!!! lol The Monday after Thanksgiving is bonkers. MK is known to have higher crowds on Mondays anyway, but that Monday after Thanksgiving is nuts. I would avoid it at all costs! We go that week after Thanksgiving, actually come on on Thanksgiving and stay through the following week and two years ago we made the mistake of doing MK that Monday. What a mistake! We waited in 45 minute lines for things that would have been a walk on or at most 10 minute wait another day. We couldn't figure out the reason, but certainly learned our lesson. Other people in the lines were saying the same thing. The problem that week is that there are a lot of parties to avoid, but honestly it would be better to just do it on a party day. You'll get more done in less time.

Hee hee. We arrive around 3PM Monday 11/28. After settling in we are headed to MK. We have our FPs for 7DMT and the Mountains. Our plan is to catch a few rides, eat and then watch CTM and Wishes. It will probably be crowded but we won't mind. Because of all the parties that week there will be only one other night to see Wishes. Gots to see me some Christmas Wishes. have a great trip.

I wouldn't shy away from the week. The week after Thanksgiving I mean. I think there are some things you have to plan around, but it's manageable. This year is our third year doing that week. Went in 2012 and 2014 also. I am a bit anxious about it being a free dining time as that wasn't the case before. Kinda bummed about that making things busier. It's been way more difficult to get the dining ressies that you want. But I'm not sure if it means the overall park lines are going to be busier too, or is it just the restaurants that are more booked than normal? Weather is all over the place, but we've never been in coats. Sweatshirts sometimes. It's usually very comfortable weather, which I love because we use to go in the HOT summer. :sunny: Oh, and the other parks that week don't seem to be a problem at all. It was only MK that Monday that was not good.

We're going the week after Thanksgiving this year, and expecting moderate crowds. Discounts at resorts/dining don't make that big a difference in how busy the parks are in my experience. I believe a board like this is going to reflect the same demographic that will make use of free dining and there are a lot of posts about this week by the same dozen or so people. The resorts are always pretty close to capacity.

I've been during free dining in Jan. and in Sept. when ADRs were extremely difficult to get and the parks were very light, it may be it's never really slow anymore but in 2014 the longest waits we had were to get seated for meals so long as we didn't try to do something like peter pan at 2pm. I distinctly remember walking on Everest four times in a row on a Sat. afternoon with my daughter, almost Yakked on the Yeti.

On Mon. I'd plan on any other park.

I am going Tuesday Nov 29th and leaving Tuesday Dec 6th.
I was one of those people who booked this particular week based on crowd calendars.
It seemed it was to be slow to moderate.
Regardless, if it is packed to the gills, i won't let that ruin my trip.
I will just pretend that this is like my June 15 trip but without the intense heat! :)

Sorry......just because free dining and a room discount are offered does not mean this week will be as crowded as Thanksgiving week.
It it may be more crowded than previous years, but you could say that about most weeks anymore.
