So its about time to start this pre-trip report for August, dontcha think?
Ive been putting it off and putting it off for way too long and for no good reason.
Then I began working on it .feverishly writing the beginning whilst on a plane to St. Louis one day at the end of March. Here we are nearly 30 days later. The writings still on the page. Finally, its time to get it off the page and onto the internet.
This trip went through quite a few changes before it even became a trip. Or so you shall see...
It all started back in December a simple idea formed over Lapu-Lapus at the Tambu Lounge. Maybe it was the alcohol talking. I find that happens a lot, but thats neither here nor there.
There we were
Sitting at the Tambu.
Talking.
Laughing.
Laughing a lot.
When an idea was born
There we were Me Princess V Hey This was a lot of fun. We should do a chick-trip some time
And so the idea was out there.
Remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer decided to stop wearing underwear?? Im OUT THERE Jerry and Im LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT.
Well such was the chick-trip idea. It was out there and it was good. A darn good idea.
Yes, Me and V showed up at the Tambu after planning this little meet of ours complete strangers. How awkward can that be? How strange? Youve read our TRs. Or Im assuming you have. And I have to say that pbnjrockette was there too for a while that night!! I don't want to leave her out of this little TR flashback!
Weve been ridiculed. For meeting someone in person that we talk to on the internet. For having invisible friends.

Yep. Well, it was awesome. I said in my December TR that V is the kind of person that if we lived 700 miles closer, shed be a good friend of mine. Well, we dont. But she still is. If you think you love her on the DISboards, youd love her in person even more.
So this chick-trip idea was great. Itd be so much fun. Id love to come down for a weekend. Just me. Ride the rides that have over 44 height requirements. Yep. Even alone. I'd jump at the chance. In a New York minute!
Im selfish.
I admit it.
You all know me. And I say this every time. I'm no candidate for Mother of the Year. Yes, I would go to WDW alone. Without my DH and without my DS. Just me.
Id walk the parks, ride the rides and drink the drinks! Alone. Well, with friends actually...
And it would be good. Ok, I'd miss them. But I'd still enjoy it!
Now for a little bit of time travel...
Flash back to my Magical Mulligan TR for a moment if you will, since you'll need this background information

I wont bore you all with the details and the things that are a bit fuzzy, but I had a great time that evening, ladies! V and I closed the joint that night. I don't know if it was THAT late, but hey - we had a chick night and closed the bar. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. The subject of a girl's only trip came up...maybe we should explore that further!! But I'm looking forward to doing this again sometime!!
And so it began
Heres a little excerpt from Vs post in the MM TR:
We DID close the bar! Of course, it closed at like 10:30.... But I didn't get back to the BWI till close to 1am, so it WAS a late night! And I second the exploration of a girls' only trip
Then a few pages later, Disneyland_Mama arrives Now, back in December at the Tambu Lounge, V and I were actually talking about her and how we loved her Wheres Waldo TR and how funny she was and like she heard us talking about her here she comes

I have too many times to even begin to quote this TR. I have even gathered my family into the office to read parts of your TR as I point to the monitor and say "SEE, SEE, I'm not the only one!"
I can't wait to get caught up! I have to say... I love you! Not in a weird stalker, restraining order way. More of a I love your Disney OCD ways, sista!

I seriously think a chick trip is in order....I told DH about it...
DH - Well, if you get to go away, so can I
Me - Great - take your cousin to the Hilton Head resort, play golf
DH - I was thinking SSR
Me - No way...you're not wasting our points on playing golf
DH - Oh, oh so YOU'RE going to use our FAMILY points on a chick trip?
Me - No, I thought maybe I'd stay at POR or something. I've been wanting to stay at POR...
DH - Oh, so now this is going to cost MORE money??
Anybody else think this conversation is going somewhere familiar!?!?!
Then I made the rather sad announcement in the Mulligan TR that Id decided to cancel our April trip. Too crowded. Too many DVC points and then, my new buddy Tracy responds with something that makes me feel better
Awwww.... poor girl!

It's value season, lower crowd factor, possible free dining (???) and I'LL be there. Then maybe we can talk V into showing up and you guys can show me how to drink a Lapu Lapu!

This is where we pause for a moment of silence for our dear, departed Focker thread Bummer Sadly, I cant seem to find the old, locked thread that could have some more goodies to copy/paste to add more to how this trip came about (without of course getting into trouble) .
But long story short, it came to light that DisneyJo will be there at the end of August too Hey this could be turning into something!!

Ok, so now its me, PrincessV, Disneyland_Mama and DisneyJo so far making up this little August meet.
The PMs start flying
And, not thinking ahead, I never did copy any of them to include bits in this pre-trip. There was some good stuff flying around!! So Im counting on my friends to help out with this pre-trip.
We began chatting through PMs and got along swimmingly! As if you were chatting with 3 of your dearest friends, planning on a great girls-only vacation. Ok, so only it wasnt EXACTLY a girls-only trip. Tracy and Jo would be there with their families. But could they get a KitchenPass for a girls night out? That was the big question
I decided to fly down for a weekend. It would have to be the weekend of August 24th thats when both Tracy and Jo would be there. Lets try and plan on doing something even if its wrong for the night of the 25th a Saturday.
Im in.
V was in. Shes only a couple of hours away. She could definitely make it.
I cant wait to see my friend V again! I had such a great time with her in December and Im really looking forward to seeing her again.
Tracy may not have even asked her DH. She was in at a moments notice. The minute we started discussing this, she was in.
Gotta tell ya I cant wait to meet Tracy in person. Love her already and am looking forward to a night full of laughter. I think she should have her own show. I cant wait to sit around a table with her and laugh my butt off. Looking forward to possibly meeting Tracys fam damily too down there, although I dont know if itll happen. Her DH, if I remember correctly, thought that we were some kind of invisible peeps who would stand her up at our little meet. NOT!! Ok, and I gotta admit I wanna meet Waldo and squeeze his cheecks. And the Enabler. I need to get up close and personal with the woman who has Hispanic Panic and the longest known recovery time from an injury And the kids The pictures of them are so cute that you could just bite them I wanna meet them too .Ok, so you get the idea
Jo was in. BUT she informed us that her DH and DDs may join her for a little while at first. Wanna know why? Her DH was thinking that we could be a bunch of axe murderers! Yeah, we all thought it was funny too. Even Jo thought it was funny. I guess you cant really blame him. Youre informed that your wife is going out for a night to meet a bunch of strangers she chats with on the internet. AND they were Americans! Ok, so I added that last bit. It made me think of the part in Nemo where theyre talking about the humans and how they think they own everything and they made the Probably Americans comment. This is the only chance I get to use that, so you all have to just let me go with it. We, including our dear friend Jo, laughed through several PMs about being thought of as a bunch of axe murderers! Im looking forward to meeting her DH too. I bet hes a sweetie. More to come on Jos DH later on, by the way!
I cant wait to meet Jo. I think we met initially on Vs TR Jo, can you remember? But Im really looking forward to meeting her. And hearing her talk! I love English accents. I wonder if it changes as the level of intoxication in a person increases. Things that make you go Hmmmm I know my accent does my NY accent gets thicker upon 2 occasions the more I drink and/or the more I get mad. I have a mental list of things Im going to ask her to say For example, Id love to hear her say My name is Simon and I do drawings and other bits from Mike Meyers SNL days, but I especially want to hear her say the words she uses in print Things like whilst, etc you know the things I thought were typos and not really words!!! LY Jo!!
Anyway, so were all in now its official. I immediately book a room at POFQ for that weekend!
So it is written. So it is done!

After all, at this point in our planning it is only January...anything can happen between January and August, right?
