The Moment It Clicks

"The Moment It Clicks: Photography secrets from one of the world's top shooters" by Joe McNally is a new photography book that came out last month. Other photo forums I follow highly recommend this book. They say if Understanding Exposure is Photography 101, this new book is Photography 201. It is really supposed to help you take your picture taking to the next level.

I was just wondering if there is anyone out there in DIS land who has read this book, and if so, what did you think? (I tend to relate more to us newbies here than the pros on other photo boards)

On the same topic, are there any other books that you think qualify as Photography 201 for those ready to move beyond the basics?

Best book on photography I have read. Kicks the crap out of Understanding Exposure...
It is for everyone, but please please do not get this book thinking you are going to learn about F-stops, Aperture, and ISO, cause you won't. What you will learn is something much more important, how to take wonderful pictures.

Buy it as soon as you can find it, trust me you will love it. And anyone just starting out, I said this before, buy it also. You may not understand everything, I know I didn't, but it will really give you a taste for how to take pictures.
I am reading it again for the second time now.

Outstanding book! I've read it once already, and within a day or two of finishing have already picked it up again to review. Very very very good.

I read it and loved it. I wouldn't say that I learned much technique from it. Mostly the how-to part of it is about lighting. But I was HIGHLY inspired by it. I think it is definately worth reading. I blogged about it here. Watch the videos on the blog - they'll give you some insight into the book.
