This inspired me to get out my 2004 passporter with the notes about my first WDW trip:
Inspirational? Wow! (But the credit goes to Brook, she started this train of thought.)
Day 1: arrived at WDW at noon, bus to AK (lunch at Flame Tree), inspect huge building site for Everest (and other park touring), dinner at Boma
So, it was my first ever TS restaurant at WDW as well!
That's intesting that Boma was both your and Brook's first ever TS restaurant. All others must pale in comparison. j/k.
We also had lunch at 50's PTC, dinner at Le Cellier (yes, it was hyped on the internet even then!), dinner at Ohana. 4.5 days in the parks... We payed $1293.99 for a package with 5 nights at POR and length-of-stay tickets (for 4 nights, i.e. 5 days) to the parks. Today the same package would be $1,567.16. That's a 21.1% increase in 7 years while according to the
US Inflation calculator it should have only risen 15.8%.
So...alongside the "free dining" and other packages, Disney has slipped-in some hefty increases, after the packages are discontinued. Maybe DVC will turn out to be an okay financial decision (for you and me both).

No 2011 TR... I hope this one has still a few days left?
Correct, no 2011 TR. Yes, I still have 2 park days and a travel day. I think I'll have to open another thread before it's all said and done.
Do you have any plans yet on when your trip will be in 2012? The same timeframe as 2010?
Judy and I haven't talked about it yet, but right now I'm thinking that it will be around the same time as 2010 -- probably the last week in June. We have to make sure to allow a cushion for any snow days that may occur and push the end of the school year further than expected.
By the way, I like your shiny new title!
Hi Glenn,
I found your TR from one of the many people that have recommended it (All7ofUs may be the appropriate person, thanks Liesa!) and I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. You have a great sense of humor and your family seems to love Disney as much as mine does (that's a common theme here on the boards, huh?
).
How nice to look in here and find a new reader!

dekkerdisneydreamer. Sheresa the bouncing Tigger, I take it from your signature? I've seen you posting on Liesa's thread and probably some others...I'm very happy that you've joined in here!
I love that you have stayed at Kidani because my DH, daughter and I are going to stay there for the first time in October, we're soooo excited!!
If you'd allow me, I might PM you and ask a couple of questions?
Believe me, you
should be sooo excited because you are going to love Kidani! October is probably a great time to visit -- the crowds will be low and it should still be warm enough to enjoy the pools.
Absolutely, PM away!
Thank you for writing your TR and doing such an awesome job!
It really helps to pass the time until our next trip.
My pleasure. Thanks for letting me know that you're enjoying it.
YIKES!
Somehow I fell off the track on your TR. The last time I read you were visiting with other DIS'ers in the lounge. (sigh).
I have quickly caught up, and as usual - THOROUGHLY enjoyed all your posts.
You had me thinking that you were waaay back there. You only had a couple of chapters to catch up on -- that's not too bad.
First, your Austrian Bistro. My paternal grandmother was born in Austria, and raised later in Czechoslovakia (as my paternal grandfather). Anyway, she was one heck of a cook and made sauerkraut that looked very much like what you had at the bistro. (I too have made her recipe' that my Mom handed down to me.) The difference is, it is made with caraway, bacon and the grease, and the thickening agent is flour. This gives the creamy texture and the lessening of the sour taste normally found in regular sauerkraut. YUM! I also make her dumplings, which are made from yeast and pieces of bread soaked in milk and take all day to make. You end up having to cut them into pieces with twine before boiling. They are soooo tender.
My mother makes her own sauerkraut too, but it's very similar to what you can buy in the grocery store. ie. "sour" sauerkraut.

She didn't make any this year though, and apologized that we'd have to buy sauerkraut for our New Year's Day feast this year.
Second, soup! soup! soup! LOL Wow, that was a lot of soup. But I can see why you'd have to try them all. They looked wonderful. We have ADR's for Boma's dinner buffet next week (NEXT WEEK??? OH MY), and your critique has me quite excited.
Oh my gosh...next week?! I'm insanely jealous right now. Come back and report on how you loved it. I mean, what you thought of it.
I think you need to look into a second career as a travel reporter. Your mix of facts with fun and an upbeat personality - you could be a male Samantha Brown!
As always, thanks for "great posts" and looking forward to reading more.
There's another person I'm insanely jealous of: Samantha Brown. I'd love to have her job.

Well, thank you for the nice compliments.
i think i found someone who could hold there own with me eating soup at olive garden.
in the past i have been known to say no thanks on the desert, but please how about another bowl of soup.
Maybe...I know I can't keep up with you on milkshakes at WCC.
I tried the "never ending pasta bowl" (that's at Olive Garden right?) when they first came out with it. Those geniuses must laugh all the way to the bank every time anyone orders that, because ONE BOWL of their pasta fills me up.
