The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

I'm not a fan either, but Judy watches it all the time. Seems like it's always on. I call TNT the "Law and Order" channel, or maybe it's TBS or USA...I don't know. What gets me is when I've seen it before (because she had it on) and she doesn't even remember it. :faint:

I used to watch it all the time. Problem was i would fall asleep before the verdict so even when I catch reruns I never rememebr the outcome.

However if I ever can't get to sleep I know I can find a L&O and be out in 50 minutes.:rotfl2:

Makes jury duty kind of challenging though. ;) :rolleyes1

ill be there, i made a note of it.
:thumbsup2

I think there will be a short flurry of activity!

Okay, don't bias it by knowing my guess and let's see how close I come...... :confused3

Should be interesting.

Okay, either you're married to Alison, or I'm married to Judy......or they are long, lost sisters!!! Maybe that's why neither of us like it......

...or maybe it's that most women are alike.

BTW, an actual update is up on my PTR! Whoulda thunk it??? :rolleyes1

I think I posted back when you wrote that. You were saying that you've changed your reservation to OKW, right?

Hmmm.... that makes it 9:10 AM here. Cooooooooooooould be doable. Maybe. THis will have to be a (literally) game time decision. I actually think I may even have one or two measly (and since you said it, worthless) points here, so this could be my chance to really whoop it up. Geez, could be as exciting as eating Lebkuchen!!

Well, I don't know if it could be quite that exciting, but I'm hoping you can make it.

Since I'm going to be flying on Monday, I'll give my answer now:

6!!!

Well, the official answer has to be given on a post number higher than the post number of the chapter, but we'll see how your guess fares.

I just have to say that your posting time conflicts with my favorite lunchtime entertainment which is watching reruns of What Not to Wear. Plus, I have a restricted computer in that office, so I'm out!

Oh nuts. I'm sure Stacy and Clinton would understand, but the restricted computer thing sounds like a show-stopper. Judy always wanted to be on What Not To Wear, so that she could get a new wardrobe, but I had to break the news to her that she dressed too well to ever be on that show.

I used to watch it all the time. Problem was i would fall asleep before the verdict so even when I catch reruns I never rememebr the outcome.

That's what Judy does too. See, it must be a woman-thing.

Makes jury duty kind of challenging though. ;) :rolleyes1

Maybe that's a way to get out of jury duty....say that you're a L&O fan.

I am a Huge fan of L & O and Criminal Minds and NCIS!!!!Sorry Glen and Marv I'm with Judy and Allison!!!! :cloud9:

Well, I"m really just one sad contestant tonight.... we just called on another car tonight, and it looks like we'll be going to see it around 9:00- just shy of the 9:10 AM posting. If this car works out, I'll be 10 times more happy than winning a round of Judy-do. THis car buying monkey shine has gone on far too long already. Good luck, Everyone, and wish us some too!!

I hope this will be finally the car you want!! :thumbsup2 I will soon have to sell a car, but I guess you won't be interested in buying my car! :lmao: The shipping would be more expensive than what it is worth - and it isn't an automatic, but a stick shift (is that the correct term?) as most of the cars here. I am not sure you would want that for your new teenage driver! :goodvibes

I just saw that on your thread. Oh well. Best wishes on the car hunt though.

I learned on a stick and I think they're fun to drive. :drive:

Are you folks ready? Don't answer that -- you might miss the update.

Don't forget, there'll be 2 posts.

I think the animation in these banner ads across the top of the DIS are slowing my computer down.

Day 6 - Part 3

My trip notes for the time covered in this chapter literally consists of two generic sentences, “got a fastpass” and “went on Maharajah”. So, for you dear reader, that means that it's quite possible that nothing very interesting happened, other than what was documented in the pictures. But, it was still an enjoyable time for us, wandering around Animal Kingdom.

We reached “the end” of the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, at the rear of the park, behind the safari, where Africa bottoms-out, near the dairy-area (okay, I’ve never heard of that either, but work with me), and as much as I’d like to say more, I’d better butt out. I don’t want to cause a rumpus.

Before leaving Africa, we picked up some fastpasses for the safari.

Not too bad – it was 10:42 and I was able to get fastpasses for 11:27.

I took a picture of this building (or pair of buildings) because I like how it shows how Disney tries to incorporate the different types of structures and building materials you might see in Africa, such as the small dark-colored stone building on the left and the stucco-covered stone building on the right. I think they’re trying to show how eclectic Africa is.

IMG_3367.jpg

Or maybe not. That’s just my theory…what do I know? :confused3

Then, as promised in the last chapter, I took a picture of the other side of the “Good Eats” building, the home of Tamu Tamu Refreshments.

IMG_3369.jpg

Any building with grass growing on the roof is pretty cool in my book. :thumbsup2 (Unless it's my house, in which case it would probably indicate a lack of maintenance.)

Judy wanted to do the Maharajah Jungle Trek next. On the trail to Asia, we passed a photopass photographer and stopped for a few pictures.

Then the photographer asked James and Lauren to pose for this “magic shot”. :wizard:

Photo0755.jpg

We weren’t really sure why she didn’t have Marlene join in, and we said something like, “Yoo hoo, we have another kid here.” So then she brought Marlene in for this one.

Photo0762.jpg

As we approached Asia we saw another photopass photographer who wasn’t busy, near the Everest shrine, so stopped again.

In this next one, my expression looks like I am being subjected to mind control. "Must....eliminate....the....ambassador.”

Photo0774.jpg

The famous “growl like a yeti” pose. When putting this chapter together, I kept looking at these two pictures, thinking they're duplicates. But my expression is different, while everything else looks exactly the same.

Continued from previous post

At long last we were on the Maharajah Jungle Trek. The first animal I took a picture of was a komodo dragon. I can’t look at one of these without thinking of the news story where Sharon Stone’s husband got bitten by a komodo dragon while taking a private tour at the L.A. Zoo. He was barefoot because they were afraid that his white sneakers would look like the mice that they fed them. Unfortunately though, one of them latched onto his big toe and it turned into a quite a game of tug-of-war. He had to have surgery to repair his foot, but without antibiotics he might have died, because these guys have septic bacteria in their saliva which basically acts as venom. I saw a TV program once where a komodo dragon bit a water buffalo and then just followed it for a day or so until it dropped dead.

IMG_3370.jpg

Aw, the little guy’s sleepy.

IMG_3371.jpg

We got to the bathouse, that’s bat-house, not bath-house, by the way. And the bats prove once again how they can be ugly and beautiful at the same time. I love taking pictures of them. They are loathsome, offensive brutes, yet I can’t look away.

IMG_3372.jpg

IMG_3373.jpg

The tigers weren’t in the best locations for pictures, and this is the only one I took. This guy looks incredibly long, like I photoshopped-in an extra stripe or two.

IMG_3374.jpg

These are blackbuck. When the guy on the left gets older, his coloration will turn much darker and he'll have beautiful long, twisted horns.

IMG_3375.jpg

Then we had fun watching the peacocks. Or "peafowl", I should say. First, a peahen walked by.

IMG_3376.jpg

Then, a little further up, we saw someone trying to get her attention. This proves that the backside of peacock is not like the backside of water -- it can't compare to the front.

IMG_3377.jpg

It's funny how he keeps his display directed toward her, wherever she walks.

IMG_3378.jpg

"Hey babe, welcome to the gun show!"

IMG_3380.jpg

I guess I didn't really take any pictures of the theming of the Maharajah Jungle Trek, but I love it. They make it look like you're walking through the ruins of an old palace, which is now a wildlife preserve. Stone structures along the path look weathered and crumbling from years of exposure to the elements and there's a bicycle near the end that seems as if a villager left it for a moment while running an errand. I think I like this trail even better than the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.

Up next: So many Nemo pictures, it’s almost a video

Nice picture update! You all look very relaxed - especially compared to the last minutes here in front of my computer :)
