The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

he sure is, im thinking his point earning has come to an end in the game.

Oh, you're playing into his hands....now he'll claim that's there's a conspiracy against him.

me too, we should have tried to get over there on that last thursday of our trip.

Well, you can't do everything. (I know....I've tried. )

Love the resort pics and you sure did get a nice view.

Why is there wire wrapped around the tree and what is that round cup thing?

If we ever stayed there with my grandson I don't think we would ever be able to leave the resort.

I think, but I'm just guessing here, that the wire is to protect the trees from animals rubbing against it. The round cup...is that the bucket near the giraffe's head? If so, the animal-keepers put the giraffe chow in there so they eat that rather than the trees.

It's a great resort for young kids, since most love to look at animals.

Beautiful pictures of the animals. I absolutely want to stay at AKL someday! Really enjoying your TR, by the way. I followed you over from Katmark's. :goodvibes

:welcome: tinacaplan! Any friend of Katmark's is a friend of mine! Thanks for coming over. I hope you are able to stay at AKL sometime. We love it, plus it's our DVC home.

Now do you want me to pass that along? Up until now she still talks favorably about you.
I'm sure she would see the humor in the comment, being such a sweet and adorable lady in reality!!! :thumbsup2 :flower3:

BTW, we still talk favorably about your WHOLE family.......well, Judy and the kids anyway........ :rotfl2:
I voted in the morning, which is even more civic-minded.....just in case I became DIStracted and forgot to vote.
That works fine when you have one of those jobs where you can just stroll in at any time of the day, but when you have to be in before the polls open..........
I'm sure you learned a thing or two. Wait, let me rephrase that. Oh, nevermind.
Well, yeah.......about YOU!!! :rotfl:
I wasn't trying to sell you on a savanna view, but we did like it. (I'll have a story about that later on.) I think most of our stays will be in standard view, to save on points.
We did Savanna View at Jambo House, and it is nice, but we will probably do mostly Standard View for the same reason. Right now with a lot of trips still commando, we aren't in the room that much to enjoy it anyway. When our trips start to slow down some, we will probably consider it more.
He's skating on thin ice, isn't he Faunt?
he sure is, im thinking his point earning has come to an end in the game.
Oh thanks a lot Dan! I thought you had my back! Now come to find out you are part of the conspiracy to undermine my chances in the Judy-do game....... :sad2:

How's this?

Awesome! :thumbsup2

Nice recovery.

So much for your recovery.

That works fine when you have one of those jobs where you can just stroll in at any time of the day, but when you have to be in before the polls open..........

That's true, I can (most times anyhow)....but I was at the polls when they opened, so I made it to work at my usual time.

Well, yeah.......about YOU!!! :rotfl:

We're in the same place.

You and Randy Quaid ought to get together, he's got conspiracy theories about Hollywood.

There have to be a million more. Kind of like Beverly slogans.

Nice recovery.
:)
So much for your recovery.
Actually, I bet Judy would laugh at that one too, so it actually would help with the aforementioned recovery!!! :rotfl:

Ouch! I've been associated with a lot of people before, but that one stings  .....sorta like the gift that keeps on giving throughout the entire year. :sad2:

Ithink Marv sabutaged my post:rolleyes1Can't believe I wasn't on yesterday !!!!Anywho Glen the good thing about Marv picking on you is he isn't picking on Kathy and me !!;):lmao:

All this talk about voting is making me feel guilty about not making sure were wsere registered earlier. AGH!! taxation without representation - and it's all my fault. :sad2:

That view from your room looks amazing! You have a budding Foosball champion, eh? I played with my kids a couple of weeks ago and they are not so great. I had to really hold back to keep them from getting discouraged.

How about this one?

The poor guy's gone off the deep end.

I'm not even sure what that's in response to, Dan. There're so many comments that it could have been!

I had a co-worker once who used to love to say, "Heat on you is heat off of me!"

You're represented...you just didn't select the person. Don't worry about it, you'll get 'em next time. I imagine it would've taken a pretty quick turnaround for you to get registered in time for this election.

That view from your room looks amazing! You have a budding Foosball champion, eh? I played with my kids a couple of weeks ago and they are not so great. I had to really hold back to keep them from getting discouraged.

Yeah, he's got the hang of it. He really spins those paddles so that if there's an opening in your defenses, a laser-shot will soon be on its way. But we've had plenty of discouraged/frustrated moments. He tends to get pretty upset when he loses at a game, especially videogames. We've finally broken him of throwing the controllers, which was a problem a couple of years ago.

How about this one?

I love it! Thanks!

See, this is one of the reasons our system of registering your residency with the local authorities make sense: you are automatically registered for voting as well!

And since there was some discussion of whether it is more public minded to vote before or after work: Here we always vote on a Sunday (which again might open a new can of worms, depending on how strict you are about the third commandment (which I now found out might be the fourth for some of you, but I am Lutheran...))

How about this one?

:rotfl:

thats why i did it, it can cover all the conversions that you and marv had back and forth.
:thumbsup2

and i didnt have to worry about misspelling a word.
:rotfl:

:rotfl:

OK, I"m seeing that that might be one of the positives that can come out of registering. It would certainly help with crime fighting. Yeah, Glenn, it can take up to a month to be re-registered in your new county, so we didn't even try. Buying underwear seemed to need to take priority over voting.

I always wondered why it was on a Tuesday. I guess when you still actually went to the polls you could take time off work?? to vote. Here in Oregon, it is now done TOTALLY by mail in- which opens the door for huge issues of fraud, but hey, I'm not on the Oregon Elections Board, so what do I know?

I wonder how the Muslims and Jews would feel about voting on Sunday? Or a Friday or Saturday, if you move it there? Or if it matters at all to them?? Probably doesn't matter to them at all. :confused3 Or the Christians who want to honor the Sabbath? I don't know... why don't they just offer it on 2 days- why would that matter so much?

Never having tasted Camel or ostrich I can't comment on the taste !!! Somehow I don't think I could eat either !!!

I can't help with Camel - but ostrich tastes like chicken.
:rotfl:

actually, the one time I had ostrich it was in chili - you just knew you had meat, the flavor didn't have a chance with all those spices!

I didn't realize there was a difference in the counting amongst various religions.

It reminds me of a time, back pre-kids, when Judy and I worked as advisors for our church youth group. One Sunday, one of the kids had to do a little talk in front of the congregation to give an update of what the group had been doing. One of the things he mentioned was that they had learned about "the 12 Commandments". :faint: He got big laughs, and Judy and I sank down in our seats, trying to become invisible.

Makes sense. :sad2: says it all.

Why didn't you say so sooner? We could have brought you some bloomers in D.C. :rotfl2:

I can't answer any of these tough questions you pose Liesa, but if keeping elections at just 1 day will get these political commercials off of the TV faster, then that's what I'm for!

I can't help with Camel - but ostrich tastes like chicken.
:rotfl:

Well of course it does! What doesn't?

Hey, why wouldn't the cannibal eat a clown?

He tasted funny. Ba-dum-bum.

actually, the one time I had ostrich it was in chili - you just knew you had meat, the flavor didn't have a chance with all those spices!

It seems like every chili has to have a secret ingredient.

Hey Glenn, just to make sure Dan didn't confuse a couple of words, can you help me out? :confused3

How many liters in a gallon??? ;)

I had no idea that there was a difference either. Since we mainly have catholics and lutherans here in Germany and they both count the same way, it never was an issue.

This kid seems to have gotten the commandments and the apostles mixed up! :lmao: Funny story, but I can understand that you were slightly emberassad!

Reminds me of the "confirmation test" we had to do to be admitted to confirmation. We had two years of bible study/catechism classes and then had an oral test with our pastor in front of the congregation after Sunday service. We had to memorize lots of stuff (including the 10 comandments and Luther's explanation of them). :scared1: I still think that memorizing words does not make a good christian, but that's the way it was... :rolleyes1 Today most churches have a different approach.

Thanks! I'm glad we took the time to have this conversation! :thumbsup2

Yes, me too!

Glad I wasn't the only one.

Yes, I think he got mixed up with the number of apostles.

I remember that we had to memorize the books of the Bible. I could use a little brushing-up on that.

Speaking of Luther, I believe Oct. 31st was the anniversary of his 95 theses.
