The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

The room looks wonderful! :cloud9: I would've been able to just sit and look at those giraffes all day!

ETA: Sounds like a lovely relaxing afternoon/evening! I am really looking forward to having DVC, I am sure this very much changes your way of touring because you know that you will be back!

That's what they say about DVC, but so far in our 2 trips as DVC members we're still touring like park-commando's. One of these times we'll slow down, I'm sure.

Ah you replied to my post while I edited it! :goodvibes

I was just briefly checking in before I am off to bed, thanks for posting at such a convenient time for me!!

I went back and caught it. ;) You're welcome! Actually, your light was off just before I posted, so I thought you had missed it, but then you were there with your "No Judy's" post.

AH HA! So the truth comes out! :rotfl: Seriously though, it was very nice of you to invite poor Glen over. I would've done it eventually :rolleyes1 I'm still missing Liesa too!

Rosie looks out for me. I see that Liesa found her way over too now.

Wow - talk about animal afterload. You hit pay dirt there! Nice. Very Nice. When I stayed at Kidani I had to go standard view. I'm point poor and all that. And I was actually quite fine with my standard view room until I saw THOSE pictures. Amazing animal interaction.

I think (hope) you meant "overload". I'm not sure I want to know what "afterload" is. :rotfl2:

We don't have all that many points either (is there ever enough?), so we stayed in a standard view last year. I don't really mind the standard view, by the way. But this year, with half the week being at Coronado Springs courtesy of PChef, we could splurge and go for a savanna view for the 4 nights at Kidani.

I agree with you - that artwork is amazing. I wonder if eac piece has little sensor built into it that alarms if someone messes with it. Just a thought. :rolleyes1

I hope they have something...I don't trust people.

Go James....:worship: King of Foosball!

Is there such a thing as a foosball scholarship?

It's great you got some time to chillax around the resort. I love how you always take pictures of the art. The cattle picture with the bubbles was hilarious :rotfl: Those quotes suit it perfectly!

Thanks Jenbear. Oh, you could come up with a million things for the thought bubbles. Come on.

What a gorgeous suite! And you can't get any better than having giraffes right outside your balcony. So cool!! :cool1:

We love it! It's the only place I know, this side of the Serengeti.

:lmao:

What a nice, relaxing day!

Once we got off of the buses.

I know the unanswered question on everyone's mind, though: How did James become the reigning king of foosball? Do you guys have a foosball table in your basement, or something? Or is it just natural talent?

No, we don't have one. It's just natural talent, I guess. He's only played at Disney. In 2009, at Community Hall, and this past summer at the pool at Coronado Springs and at Kidani's Community Hall again.

Oh, I know...it's because I don't let him win. I make him earn it, and now he can kick butt!

Hey, you were right near our room! We were 7509 (so across the hall and down a few). I am now very homesick for Kidani, after reading the new post. That pool is amazing. It sounds like Community Hall could be a lot of fun, and I'm kind of sad we didn't spend a lot of time there; only on our last morning and there was really no one there.

Yes, that's a great location. Near the lobby, near the bus stop, near Community Hall.

My kids, and especially James, LOVE Community Hall. He could stay there all week and never go to the parks.

OHHHHH I love Kidani. You had great animals all ready to welcome you.

As for the cattle- I can only think of " You lookin at me?"

We love it too! It was so cool to have the animals outside of our balcony.

"What're you lookin' at?" "Nuthin'. What're you lookin' at?"

I think it looks like the "male" on the left is scratching his behind on the tree. And the "female" on the right is giving him a look as if to say, "Seriously?" And the "male" is like, "What?" :confused3

(I believe they're both males *ahem*, but just humor me here.)

Unfortunately, I think that's an optical illusion and the tree is not within scratching distance. Butt, er I mean, but, that's a good thought!

Ostrich(es?) might be dirty looking, but they are delicious!

Is that wrong?

Now I vaguely remember being discussed somewhere...was it your thread? Hey, I'd try it.

I've eaten emu before and it was very good too. I also ate kangaroo meat. While tasty, I had a bit of a hard time swallowing the bite in my mouth as I pictured the cute roos we had hand fed earlier that day. :rolleyes1

That's right, I forgot that you lived in Australia for a while. Well, I think that they frown on guests eating the savanna dwellers at AKL.

Crap! I was on most of the morning, but totally missed it!!! I hope there's a link in your siggie!!

I know how you feel Liesa. ;)

Glenn- the one is totally caught in the act of scratching his rear end- but Carissa beat me to that one. I guess there's a reason we all herd together here- great minds and all that.

We all like a good butt joke.

Yep, the giraffe was RIGHT there!! I got some cool "right there" shots of the crane thingy that you'll LOVE!

Looking forward to it!

So glad that Judy got some winks! Sounds like she really needed them!! But I gotta tell ya, nothing sux worse than waking up to dirty dishes. I"m just sayin'...

I knew I should've left that sentence out. Hey, I should get points for feeding her children. (That oughtta rile you up.)

You've got Liesa's vote.

Great update, Glen. What a nice, relaxing and fun day. The pictures above are the ONE AND ONLY reason I want to stay at the AKL. Giraffes are my all time favorite animal.

I remember that you've said you love giraffes. You should try staying at AKL sometime.

The room looks wonderful! :cloud9: I would've been able to just sit and look at those giraffes all day!

We liked it! I can look at them for a while, but the parks call my name too.

Kangaroo! That sounds unique.

Now I vaguely remember being discussed somewhere...was it your thread? Hey, I'd try it.

It might have been my thread :confused3 I do talk about eating a lot :rolleyes1

That's right, I forgot that you lived in Australia for a while. Well, I think that they frown on guests eating the savanna dwellers at AKL.

They have (or had) Ostrich on the menu at Jiko.

I was able to get a picture of our suite, pre-clutter.

Looks awesome! This resort is the next one on our bucket list.

The kids immediately went to the balcony to check out the animals.

bell services guy told us about a “really good pizza delivery place” and after he left the kids thought that was really nice of him, but all I could think was that I suspected he was on the payroll somehow. Am I too cynical?

::yes::

we could see behind it, we discovered that someone had unplugged the TV. Now why, if a previous guest needed an extra outlet and unplugged the TV, why (I ask again), in the world, wouldn’t they plug it back in again when they left? Sheesh!

:sad2:

I thought that last picture needed some thought bubbles. If you’ve got a better idea for what they may be thinking, let’s hear it!

Dude, that guy's back up there on the balcony taking pictures again. Let's moon him.

I got back to the room I was greeted with shouts of, “The giraffes are right here! The giraffes are right here!”

Awesome! :thumbsup2

watched him playing foosball against a teenage boy and James was beating him. It was pretty funny to watch the incredulous look on that poor kid’s face each time that James blasted a shot into his goal.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 :woohoo:

, James was playing Connect 4 with a lifeguard who asked me, “Did you teach him how to play foosball? He’s beaten me, like 10 games in a row!”

Even if you didn't, you TOTALLY had to take credit for that.

I like ostrich eggs, but the meat's a little weird. I bet it's the dirty feathers -- I bet you're on to something there.

Looks like you got a great room location, and had a nice relaxing day. I love all the animals you saw - especially the giraffes! I love the giraffes! That's why we stayed there before!

I think both of the "long horn" conversations are funny! :rotfl2: ( sorry, can't remember their names)

7 Judy's!!!! And I'm not telling which pictures I found her in, but I'm sure since Dan has met her too, he can vouch that Judy is one WILD animal!!! :rotfl2:
Now now. Play nice!
Why DO you waste your breath on comments like this??? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Ah you replied to my post while I edited it! :goodvibes

I was just briefly checking in before I am off to bed, thanks for posting at such a convenient time for me!!
Yeah, right after work while everyone on this side of the pond is standing in long lines trying to do their civic duty and vote.......... :sad2:
It's great you got some time to chillax around the resort. I love how you always take pictures of the art. The cattle picture with the bubbles was hilarious :rotfl: Those quotes suit it perfectly!
Yeah, but a little too much fixation with the "fertility idols" if you know what I mean..... :rolleyes1

Never having tasted Camel or ostrich I can't comment on the taste !!! Somehow I don't think I could eat either !!!Glen the Savanna pix and room look great!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I love the Disney bus system. Well, at least I love having the Disney bus system. I love being on vacation and not having to deal with a car, and never leaving the “Magic” for the outside world. But it’s trips like these that can really try your patience, and I can see why some people want to have a car as another option.

:worship: I just had that trying experience over the weekend. I'm done with the buses for a good long while. :headache:

Sorry for a short reply - life just got very, very busy! But I'm caught-up and THRILLED that your Kidani room was a hit! And I believe you may have sold me on the value of a savanna view. :thumbsup2

nice update glenn, enjoyed the pics of the animals thanks for all those.

parker would love to stand on that balcony to check out those animals

Kangaroo! That sounds unique.

Unique up on it.

Sorry, that's the punchline of an old joke, that starts off with "How do you catch a unique rabbit?"

There's a follow-up joke if you can handle more like that one.

It might have been my thread :confused3 I do talk about eating a lot :rolleyes1

I know! I'd comment more, but I've run out of drooling smileys.

They have (or had) Ostrich on the menu at Jiko.

I confess that I haven't made it to Jiko yet. :guilty:

Looks awesome! This resort is the next one on our bucket list.

Chart a course for it, Captain!

Dude, that guy's back up there on the balcony taking pictures again. Let's moon him.

How's this?

IMG_3277-2.jpg

Even if you didn't, you TOTALLY had to take credit for that.

I'm pretty sure I did!

UH-HUH!!!!!

And I"m sure they are very much YOUR kids when picking their noses, rolling their eyes, or eating the last of the ice cream. ;):lmao:

No, they're my kids when they do great on a test, sing beautifully, or become foosball champions!

I like ostrich eggs, but the meat's a little weird. I bet it's the dirty feathers -- I bet you're on to something there.

Hey pookersmom! :welcome: Thanks for chiming in. I'll bet ostrich eggs make for a mighty big omelet. One's probably plenty.

Looks like you got a great room location, and had a nice relaxing day. I love all the animals you saw - especially the giraffes! I love the giraffes! That's why we stayed there before!

I was really happy with the room location! Giraffes are a lot of fun to watch...they move so gracefully.

I think both of the "long horn" conversations are funny! :rotfl2: ( sorry, can't remember their names)

Thanks. (Ankole cattle. ;) )

Probably tastes rather like.... camel. :rotfl2:

Mmmmm.

7 Judy's!!!! And I'm not telling which pictures I found her in, but I'm sure since Dan has met her too, he can vouch that Judy is one WILD animal!!! :rotfl2:

Now do you want me to pass that along? Up until now she still talks favorably about you.

Why DO you waste your breath on comments like this???

I typed it....I don't have that voice-recognition thing worked out yet. But, I see your point.

Yeah, right after work while everyone on this side of the pond is standing in long lines trying to do their civic duty and vote.......... :sad2:

I voted in the morning, which is even more civic-minded.....just in case I became DIStracted and forgot to vote.

Yeah, but a little too much fixation with the "fertility idols" if you know what I mean..... :rolleyes1

I'm sure you learned a thing or two. Wait, let me rephrase that. Oh, nevermind.

I've eaten camel too!

Ewww! One hump or two?

Never having tasted Camel or ostrich I can't comment on the taste !!! Somehow I don't think I could eat either !!!Glen the Savanna pix and room look great!!!

Stick with what you know, Rosie!

Thanks!

:worship: I just had that trying experience over the weekend. I'm done with the buses for a good long while. :headache:

Yikes. Sorry to hear that, V.

Sorry for a short reply - life just got very, very busy! But I'm caught-up and THRILLED that your Kidani room was a hit! And I believe you may have sold me on the value of a savanna view. :thumbsup2

I understand. Ever since school started back up it's been crazy for us too.

I wasn't trying to sell you on a savanna view, but we did like it. (I'll have a story about that later on.) I think most of our stays will be in standard view, to save on points.

now thats not nice, but pretty funny.

He's skating on thin ice, isn't he Faunt?

nice update glenn, enjoyed the pics of the animals thanks for all those.

parker would love to stand on that balcony to check out those animals

I wish you guys would've had time that you could have come over to the resort.

Whoa! Easy there partner. You almost rode off the ranch!

:rotfl2: Well, that's James, not me. He can get a little crazy.

Great update Glennbo! Love the photos! Looking forward to seeing how you enjoyed the rest of your stay at Kidani.

Thanks dude!

Love the resort pics and you sure did get a nice view.

Why is there wire wrapped around the tree and what is that round cup thing?

If we ever stayed there with my grandson I don't think we would ever be able to leave the resort.

Beautiful pictures of the animals. I absolutely want to stay at AKL someday! Really enjoying your TR, by the way. I followed you over from Katmark's. :goodvibes
