Great update, Glenn! Not a big fan of Rock & Roll (too old for that any more), but LOVE TOT. And now that you mention it, I think I've ALWAYS been in the front row of TOT as well. I love the coconut idea for the dads--a very unique gift.
That's too bad...I think the music really adds to that ride.
Hey, high five on the front row ToT riders!
As we getting ready for the trip we realized that we'd be traveling home on Father's Day and that we needed to get something sent to them before we left, as if we had time to do that. So I thought of sending a coconut from WDW!
Hahaha.
Mwahahaha!
MWABWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!
Gee, I hate to see what comes after "MWABWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!". You're going to hurt yourself.
It's Fatal Error Attraction.
I don't know about the coconut post. The picture kinda looks like a bra to me. Just sayin'......
First time one's had addresses written on it. Well, who knows, probably not!
Glenn:
Favorite picture: Lauren with the army man
Favorite story: The lady with the leg where it shouldn't a been
Favorite fact: That you were with your oldest daughter doing something you have very little time left to do.
Favorite piece of park/ bus mojo: Taht you didn't have to wait for a bus
Brook did beat me to the Judy-do sightings... My internet was acting up yesterday evening...
Great update! I love the first row on ToT, but found it very scary on my first ride. But you can ask for whatever row you want when you get to the person assigning seats. Normally they fill the first row first. And I have also been to ToT when it was so empty that I was told to just sit anywhere I wanted. I was going to be the only person in that elevator, but then one other person showed up and I was very relieved!!
Yikes, I certainly wouldn't want to ride ToT all by myself. That'd be creepy.
I am impressed that you just went to the Poly to send these coconuts! I had serious issues with the busses at the Poly when we stayed there and would have never taken my chances... But that only shows that while one person finds the busses for a certain hotel horrible, the other person just has much better luck.
The bus issues seem to be very random. Which makes sense, I suppose. If/when there are long-term, systemic issues with a certain hotel, they address them.
I still can't believe you got the points for this round, as long as it was until you chimed-in.
Those who don't wimp out reap the rewards!
Mmmm hmmm.
Our family voted it the best ride of the trip.
I forgot to put it into the chapter, but I recently heard a radio interview with Joe Perry, guitarist in Aerosmith, and he said that before the ride opened he and Steven Tyler rode RnRC about 50 or 60 times in one day to "check the sound". Wish I could check the sound.
Lo! Behold Glennbo's edict and it shall be! Watch her be a DISboards reader.
I hope so. I'd love to hear the story from her point of view!
It's all the screaming that keeps them out. Better have a partner to check your teeth afterwards just in case.
We flossed.
I remember that bathroom area. That's where my two DSs and DW wimped out and headed back to the Poly. DD and I toughed it out and did standby on ToT. The line outside isn't so bad since they have misters all around the lush queue and it's mostly shaded with tall trees as well. I don't even think iced coffee would be much of a seller with how hot it was. They need a Dole Whip somewhere in DHS.
That's one of the nicest, coolest queue lines there, but I almost always ride it with a fastpass so just zip right through. That's why I never have any decent pictures of it.
Oh man, Dole Whips at DHS is a great idea!
I tried to take some pictures down there as well. It's really dark and hard to get an exposure long enough without shaking the camera.
Very difficult. It's so cool in there, and it seems just like a boiler room in an old building. Sometimes I forget that it's themed to look that way.
You sat in the same two seats me and my DD did, Lol!
They were still warm!
"All right Mr. De Mille, I'm ready for my close-up."
Ha! How appropriate is the film that quote is from!
And in my case ..."I
am big. It's the
pictures that got small."

Well you're certainly no secret on the DISboards!
Thanks.
I think.
So are your water fountain reports going to follow the pattern of The Sweaty Asian's bathroom reports?
Well, I didn't start out to address that area that has been lacking on the DISboards. I don't think I made a note of any other fountains in the parks, so probably not. It's just that those two were in such stark contrast.
At least Lauren laughed. If it were my kids they would have started saying things like "I really don't know this person. He travels with us and we can't get rid of him."
I get that too. (Believe it or not, Marv.)
I didn't know you could do this! I spent 6 days at the Poly and didn't hear about anything like that. Will write it down for next time.
Yep.
That Tiki really likes your coconuts.
I'm taken!
I wish I had noticed that before we left. We could have staged a great picture.
We always had great luck with busses leaving from the Poly. We never had more than a few minutes wait. I know it's mostly luck but it was still nice!
It's hit or miss. Magdalene said that she had bad luck with buses at the Poly.
I can't remember either. I was standing around someone who pulled the rope on my '07 trip and got a kick out of it.
I should have asked Lauren before I posted that chapter. She probably remembers.
Especially when your themed ride is a motion simulator. Ba! Dum! Dum! Rimshot.
He's here all week, folks. Don't forget to tip your waiters and waitresses!
