The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

Brook did beat me to the Judy-do sightings... My internet was acting up yesterday evening... :headache:

Great update! I love the first row on ToT, but found it very scary on my first ride. But you can ask for whatever row you want when you get to the person assigning seats. Normally they fill the first row first. And I have also been to ToT when it was so empty that I was told to just sit anywhere I wanted. I was going to be the only person in that elevator, but then one other person showed up and I was very relieved!!

I am impressed that you just went to the Poly to send these coconuts! I had serious issues with the busses at the Poly when we stayed there and would have never taken my chances... But that only shows that while one person finds the busses for a certain hotel horrible, the other person just has much better luck. :confused3

Day 2 - Part 7

Lauren and I left the Great Movie Ride and decided it was time to use some fastpasses!

Those who don't wimp out reap the rewards! :thumbsup2

First up was Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. We love this ride.

Our family voted it the best ride of the trip.

“that’s going into my trip report!”

Lo! Behold Glennbo's edict and it shall be! Watch her be a DISboards reader. :scared1:

It's a good thing there aren't bugs in there, because everybody always has their mouth open for the start of this ride. Or maybe that's why there aren't any bugs? :scratchin

It's all the screaming that keeps them out. Better have a partner to check your teeth afterwards just in case.

From there we walked over to Tower of Terror. We had a couple of minutes to wait until our fastpass window opened up, so we went to the drinking fountain that’s across from the ToT exit. It’s a nice shaded spot, but the water…bleh, warm! There’s also a coffee stand right beside the drinking fountain and we wondered who could possibly want a hot coffee on this particularly hot afternoon. I think we also wandered into the gift shop for a couple of minutes, but were soon able to use our fastpasses.

I remember that bathroom area. That's where my two DSs and DW wimped out and headed back to the Poly. DD and I toughed it out and did standby on ToT. The line outside isn't so bad since they have misters all around the lush queue and it's mostly shaded with tall trees as well. I don't even think iced coffee would be much of a seller with how hot it was. They need a Dole Whip somewhere in DHS.

I really like the boiler room as you make your way to the elevators. I attempted to get a shot of one of the cool creepy boilers, but it’s so dark in there.

I tried to take some pictures down there as well. It's really dark and hard to get an exposure long enough without shaking the camera.

That picture reminds me, we were in the front yet again.

You sat in the same two seats me and my DD did, Lol!

Then, when I got my Photopass pictures I discovered that the photographer had taken one where she zoomed-in on Lauren. I thought it was kind of odd that the photographer took that without saying anything to us. Not even a “get out of the way, Daddy-o”. If she had told us I could have moved so that Lauren’s face wasn’t shaded.

"All right Mr. De Mille, I'm ready for my close-up."

Well, two can play that game. Any Photopass editor worth his salt can even the score. I did not intentionally crop it so that it says "World's Best Kept Secret" at the bottom, but now that I see it, I like it!

:rolleyes1 Well you're certainly no secret on the DISboards!

On our way out, we again needed water (did I tell you that it was hot that day?) and we stopped at the water fountain that is to the left just before you reach the “Crossroads of the World” sign. Ahhh, it’s good and cold there!

So are your water fountain reports going to follow the pattern of The Sweaty Asian's bathroom reports?

Lauren laughed. The other passengers didn’t really know what to think. Hey, lighten up people. You’re in Disney World!

At least Lauren laughed. If it were my kids they would have started saying things like "I really don't know this person. He travels with us and we can't get rid of him."

Anyway, we got to the Poly, went to the gift shop on the lower level, asked about mailing coconuts, and were shown a few to choose from. We picked a couple of beauties, and wrote the same message to both dads.

I didn't know you could do this! I spent 6 days at the Poly and didn't hear about anything like that. Will write it down for next time.

Then she wondered aloud, where would be a good place to take the picture? And she exclaimed, “Oh, at the tiki!” And then she took these photos of us.

That Tiki really likes your coconuts.

We left the Poly as soon as our mission was done and waited at the bus stop a mere 3 minutes before we caught a bus back to DHS. Judy had issues, but my bus mojo was workin’!

We always had great luck with busses leaving from the Poly. We never had more than a few minutes wait. I know it's mostly luck but it was still nice!

Of course Lauren pulled the rope, and we could hear someone saying something, but I don’t even remember what they said. It was cute though.

I can't remember either. I was standing around someone who pulled the rope on my '07 trip and got a kick out of it.

It had been a great morning and afternoon, but what would the evening hold? "Always in motion is the future", according to Yoda.

Especially when your themed ride is a motion simulator. Ba! Dum! Dum! Rimshot.

Great update, Glenn! Not a big fan of Rock & Roll (too old for that any more), but LOVE TOT. And now that you mention it, I think I've ALWAYS been in the front row of TOT as well. I love the coconut idea for the dads--a very unique gift.

That's too bad...I think the music really adds to that ride.

Hey, high five on the front row ToT riders!

As we getting ready for the trip we realized that we'd be traveling home on Father's Day and that we needed to get something sent to them before we left, as if we had time to do that. So I thought of sending a coconut from WDW!

Hahaha.

Mwahahaha!

MWABWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!

Gee, I hate to see what comes after "MWABWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!". You're going to hurt yourself.

So you can see how I affect everyone!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl:  :woohoo: :dance3: :cool2: pirate:

It's Fatal Error Attraction.

I don't know about the coconut post. The picture kinda looks like a bra to me. Just sayin'......

First time one's had addresses written on it. Well, who knows, probably not!

Glenn:

Favorite picture: Lauren with the army man

:)

Favorite story: The lady with the leg where it shouldn't a been

:rotfl2:

Favorite fact: That you were with your oldest daughter doing something you have very little time left to do.

Favorite piece of park/ bus mojo: Taht you didn't have to wait for a bus

:thumbsup2

Brook did beat me to the Judy-do sightings... My internet was acting up yesterday evening... :headache:

Yikes, I certainly wouldn't want to ride ToT all by myself. That'd be creepy.

But that only shows that while one person finds the busses for a certain hotel horrible, the other person just has much better luck. :confused3

The bus issues seem to be very random. Which makes sense, I suppose. If/when there are long-term, systemic issues with a certain hotel, they address them.

Excuses, excuses. :rolleyes1

:teeth: ;)

I still can't believe you got the points for this round, as long as it was until you chimed-in.

Those who don't wimp out reap the rewards! :thumbsup2

Mmmm hmmm.

Our family voted it the best ride of the trip.

I forgot to put it into the chapter, but I recently heard a radio interview with Joe Perry, guitarist in Aerosmith, and he said that before the ride opened he and Steven Tyler rode RnRC about 50 or 60 times in one day to "check the sound". Wish I could check the sound.

Lo! Behold Glennbo's edict and it shall be! Watch her be a DISboards reader. :scared1:

I hope so. I'd love to hear the story from her point of view!

It's all the screaming that keeps them out. Better have a partner to check your teeth afterwards just in case.

We flossed. :rotfl2:

That's one of the nicest, coolest queue lines there, but I almost always ride it with a fastpass so just zip right through. That's why I never have any decent pictures of it.

Oh man, Dole Whips at DHS is a great idea!

I tried to take some pictures down there as well. It's really dark and hard to get an exposure long enough without shaking the camera.

Very difficult. It's so cool in there, and it seems just like a boiler room in an old building. Sometimes I forget that it's themed to look that way.

You sat in the same two seats me and my DD did, Lol!

They were still warm!

"All right Mr. De Mille, I'm ready for my close-up."

Ha! How appropriate is the film that quote is from!

And in my case ..."I am big. It's the pictures that got small."

:rolleyes1 Well you're certainly no secret on the DISboards!

Thanks. I think.

So are your water fountain reports going to follow the pattern of The Sweaty Asian's bathroom reports?

Well, I didn't start out to address that area that has been lacking on the DISboards. I don't think I made a note of any other fountains in the parks, so probably not. It's just that those two were in such stark contrast.

At least Lauren laughed. If it were my kids they would have started saying things like "I really don't know this person. He travels with us and we can't get rid of him."

I get that too. (Believe it or not, Marv.)

I didn't know you could do this! I spent 6 days at the Poly and didn't hear about anything like that. Will write it down for next time.

Yep.

That Tiki really likes your coconuts.

I'm taken!

I wish I had noticed that before we left. We could have staged a great picture.

We always had great luck with busses leaving from the Poly. We never had more than a few minutes wait. I know it's mostly luck but it was still nice!

It's hit or miss. Magdalene said that she had bad luck with buses at the Poly. :confused3

I can't remember either. I was standing around someone who pulled the rope on my '07 trip and got a kick out of it.

I should have asked Lauren before I posted that chapter. She probably remembers.

Especially when your themed ride is a motion simulator. Ba! Dum! Dum! Rimshot.

He's here all week, folks. Don't forget to tip your waiters and waitresses!

Before I get going with direct replies, I want to say "Thank you" for illustrating a little something... given my proximity to WDW, a lot of people assume me to be an "expert" on all things WDW. Not so. I'm always learning new things...

When we left the Tower of Terror I remembered that I wanted to make a trip over to the Polynesian to send a couple of coconut postcards to my Dad and Father-in-law for Father’s Day...
Como say what?! I had no idea there was such a thing! This is very, very cool. :thumbsup2

Also...
We still had plenty of time, so I wanted to look for the rope you’re not supposed to pull near the Indiana Jones theater.

I NEVER knew about this! And my DS is a huge Indy fan. :sad2:

I love the "Como say what?!" expression. I need to use that more!

50 or 60 times?! I would get a bit tired of it around 15 times I think. The most times in a row I ever rode a rollercoaster was 6 times. It was Batman : The Ride at Six Flags of Texas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman:_The_Ride

The ride operater allowed us to go over and over since the park was closing soon and no one else was in line. By the last ride I was getting quite discombobulated. :upsidedow

Not that I'm saying I wouldn't do it on a bet! :lmao:

Oh I think I went between 25 to 30 times in the Dueling Dragons at IOA... and I only stopped because the rest of the family was waiting for me in the other park :rotfl:

Discombobulated my new favorite word! :lmao:

50 or 60 times does seem like overkill. But I think I easily could do the 25 or 30 that Tribilín mentions below. Wait, I'm allowed a break for lunch, right?

I'll have to check out that link you included.

Do you see your family much Tribilín, when you go to parks with them? Is there at least one other family member who accompanies you on these rides?

Is there a similar word in Spanish?

So glad you said it! I really thought the same thing, but was afraid to say so!!!

It's even funnier if you go back and read the message on the coconut "bra": "I finally found something you don't already have. Happy Father's Day!" :rotfl2:

Having lunch and returning to a roller coaster ? Wow! NOW that's hardcore :crazy2: LOL!

Do you see your family much Tribilín, when you go to parks with them?
I'm with my family most of the time at the parks, just wander off when we have been seen the whole park and they want to rest/go back to the hotel... I just can't stop until the park is closing :woohoo:

For the first 1 to 3 rounds in the same ride most of the group is in... after that I'm all alone :rotfl2: I'm very hopeful for the next year when I go with my nephew Enrique, he'll be 15 y/o by then and he's a thrill ride junkie like me... Hehehe!

Is there a similar word in Spanish?
Oh I wish! :lmao: It looks awesome... I wish I knew how it sounds!

Oh, that IS funny!!! :lmao:

:)

That's exactly what you need -- a 15 y/o thrill ride junkie as a park partner. I think you are a 15 y/o thrill ride junkie in the body of someone a little older.

Have you tried drinking 5 oz of hot saki and then jumping on Mission Space?

Love the photopass pictures of you and your daughter. Very nice.

Would you believe I have never been on ToT or RnRC? I was chicken for ToT and RnRC I was pregnant. Maybe next time.

I the Army Men, never saw them again hopefully our next trip this year.
