The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

I love that alley in the MK, too. Except I always walk in, think, Wow, cool! then feel like I should have something to do there. Which, of course, I don't.

Very cool Buzz picture. It makes me think that maybe I'll actually ride it in October, and not even bother playing, just take pictures. That way I'll have an excuse when I do terribly.

You claim to have beaten James at Buzz, but without photographic evidence, how can we really be sure?

Day 3 - Part 4

I learned on someone else’s thread that there’s a hidden Mickey in those Test Track photos and I had never noticed it before. I went back to look at last year’s pictures and sure enough, it was there then too.
so it is, I never noticed it either! Very cool

Now it was just James and I. It was about time for a bathroom break, but I thought, “let’s not just go to any bathroom, let’s find Jordan’s favorite Epcot bathroom.” Since it is a touring destination all its own, I had researched how to find it before the trip. We walked over to the Journey into Imagination building, and as we approached the entrance, rather than going in, we turned right and walked around to the side of the building. We turned the corner and there it was. It was a surreal moment, let me tell you.

We went in and…..yuck! It was pretty poorly maintained. There were puddles of water and toilet paper on the floor. It was in desperate need of janitorial attention. No one other than us came in or out while we were there, and that’s pretty rare at a Disney park, so it had privacy going for it, but that was all. No "savoring the moment" here -- we took care of business and left. After I got back home I read on Jordan’s thread that he found it in the same condition back in February, so it has lost its status as his favorite Disney park bathroom.
ICK!

James helped me get all situated again and put my sunglasses and case in a side pocket of my backpack.

Then we boarded the Buzz ride and started battling the Evil Emperor Zurg. The ride stopped at one point and in addition to allowing me to rack-up major points, I got a picture inside the Buzz ride. I’m usually too busy shooting Z’s to take a picture.

I don’t remember my score, but it was way-high and I beat James, maybe for the first time. He usually beats me on that ride.

We left Buzz at about 4 o’clock so decided to hit Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. I thought about saving it to do with Judy and the girls, but they’ve been on it before and we still had time to kill. It was fun, but I think that’s a show that can never be as much fun as your first time seeing it, when you’re amazed that the cartoons are interacting with the audience via Disney magic.
we had the same thing happen when we rode it. I creamed everyone. It was cool even if it was totally cheating and they were too dense to figure it out.

We left Monsters Inc and started walking to leave the park. I stopped to get my sunglasses out of my backpack and…they weren’t there. I looked and looked and couldn’t find them. James insisted he did, in fact put them in the backpack. They hadn’t fallen when he put them in the pocket. I was glad that I still had my regular glasses at least, but the sunglasses were also prescription lenses. We left the park and started walking to the buses when I decided that I’d never have a better chance to find them and that I should go to Lost and Found. So we turned around and went back through bag-check and the turnstiles and went to City Hall. We waited for our turn to talk to a cast member and I described what I had lost. Then she went to a back room to check if they had them.

While we waited I took a water bottle out of a side pocket on my backpack and took a drink. When I saw her returning I tried to put the water bottle back, but something was blocking the way…my sunglasses!

who cares! I have RX sunglasses and it would be major trip buzz kill to lose them.

sunglasses, we left the park…again. I noticed that I had a text from Judy saying that they were heading back to the hotel after the girls’ American Idol auditions.

I texted her “how did it go?”

And she replied, “We will share when we see you.” Doh! A trip report teaser in real life!

Up next: How the girls spent their Idol time

Killing me.....

Great update, but now I am really curious about how the girls did in their audition!!

I think the TT hidden Mickey is much more visible on the pictures than from the car. I am sure it is put there specifically for the pictures.

Katharina and I visited this bathroom as well in January I think, without knowing that it is famous on the DIS. We liked it because it was so quiet there. It was kind of like going to a very secret spot away from everything hectic in the parks. And it is so colourful! :goodvibes

I like the little alley, too. Of course Magdelene showed it to me and we listened to the sounds, I wondered how many people really notice this little detail, if they are not told about it like I was...

Aren't I a great tour guide? :goodvibes I learned about it on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour.

Did you know that there used to a second street like that just opposite? It is now incorporated into the shops over there, but if you go inside, you can still see it. DL and DLP still have two streets there.

I really would love to have a trip that is long enough so that I can just spend a lot of time looking for little things like that... So far I always feel the need to experience this attraction and then run to the next. :confused3

Glennbo, is it possible that you don't really keep scores? How will we know who wins the wonderful first prize?

I have been suspecting the same thing for quite some while now as well... I think the solution must be that everyone will get a wonderful prize at the end!! :woohoo:

Me too! Oh, that's right, I arrive at Disney the day after MEK comes home. :rotfl2:

See, that'd work out great for you....you could just stay.

I love that alley in the MK, too. Except I always walk in, think, Wow, cool! then feel like I should have something to do there. Which, of course, I don't.

Well, yeah, after you've heard the tap dancing and stuff you've just about exhausted what there is to do there.

Very cool Buzz picture. It makes me think that maybe I'll actually ride it in October, and not even bother playing, just take pictures. That way I'll have an excuse when I do terribly.

Thanks. That's a pretty good idea actually, and what's better than a built-in excuse?

You claim to have beaten James at Buzz, but without photographic evidence, how can we really be sure?

Your question reminded me of what happened. (Really.) I went to take a picture and just as I was getting it lined-up, they reset to zero. I was like, "Dang!"

so it is, I never noticed it either! Very cool

I believe I read that on Lynn5700's thread....she gets the credit.

And I trusted the Jordan rating system.

we had the same thing happen when we rode it. I creamed everyone. It was cool even if it was totally cheating and they were too dense to figure it out.

Sure, everyone had the same chance. Play until the whistle blows.

who cares! I have RX sunglasses and it would be major trip buzz kill to lose them.

I was majorly bummed. For a short while.

Killing me.....

Glennbo, is it possible that you don't really keep scores? How will we know who wins the wonderful first prize?

Wha? Wouldn't it be great if everybody felt like a winner?

Great update, but now I am really curious about how the girls did in their audition!!

You'll have to wait. But I'm glad everyone is eager for the next chapter!

I think the TT hidden Mickey is much more visible on the pictures than from the car. I am sure it is put there specifically for the pictures.

Oh yeah, I agree. You're too busy looking at that door that seems like it won't open in time, to see it.

Katharina and I visited this bathroom as well in January I think, without knowing that it is famous on the DIS. We liked it because it was so quiet there. It was kind of like going to a very secret spot away from everything hectic in the parks. And it is so colourful! :goodvibes

Yes, that's why it was ranked so highly by Jordan. But he also found it clean before. Was it clean when you were there?

Aren't I a great tour guide? :goodvibes I learned about it on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour.

From what I hear, you're a great tour guide at Disney World and in Nuremberg.

Did you know that there used to a second street like that just opposite? It is now incorporated into the shops over there, but if you go inside, you can still see it. DL and DLP still have two streets there.

I did not know that. Cool -- I'll have to look for it next time.

I really would love to have a trip that is long enough so that I can just spend a lot of time looking for little things like that... So far I always feel the need to experience this attraction and then run to the next. :confused3

I know, I'm one of the worst offenders at that.

I have been suspecting the same thing for quite some while now as well... I think the solution must be that everyone will get a wonderful prize at the end!! :woohoo:

Now you sound like Tribilin.

Yes, you are - the best :flower3:

Aw.

Good morning Jen! They're doing well. From day 2 onward, everything's been fine.

How's your car?

Glad to hear it! Car is doing fine. No more problems as of yet.....

I've never noticed that Hidden Mickey in the Test Track pictures. Good to know! That one girl is really hamming it up. Too funny about your sunglasses. I would've just shrugged it off and pretend I hadn't found them to avoid looking like an idiot (not saying you did of course!) The way you revealed that you had found them was pretty smart. The picture of the alley in MK is gorgeous! It looks like a painting. I didn't know that alley existed until I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour last year. Amazing how Disney thinks of all the fine details.

All caught up again! I LOVE that you went to visit Jordan's former favorite bathroom. :lmao: Oh hilarious! Did James ever ask you why you took his picture there? Glad you found your glasses too...I'm sure your exact scenario happens quite often!

I'm anxious to find out how the auditions went!! :hyper:

Is that ride pic of that girl next to you for real?! Nearly every pic I have of that people are grinning or looking nonchalant.

I really like the Buzz Lightyear ride pic. Looks extra-ultraviolety. Sorry about the bathroom problems. We seemed to always use the ones between Mission: Space and Innoventions. Seemed to always be in pretty good shape.

Will stay tuned to find out how the auditions went. :surfweb:

This is the recipe I used as a child and teenager. I think I found it in a children’s magazine and I didn’t really copy the instructions, as it is quite easy and by the time I copied it into my recipe book, I knew how to do it. But for anyone with at least some practice in cooking/baking it should be no problem!

I know for some Germans this would not be a proper Käsekuchen, because of the lack of raisins. So, if you like them, you can put some in the filling.

Käsekuchen / German cheesecake
Springform tin with 26 cm / 10 in diameter

For the pastry:
250 g / 9 oz flour
1 egg
pinch of salt
3 tbsp sugar
100 g / 4 oz Butter

For the filling:
500 g / 18 oz low fat Quark
100 g / 4 oz sugar
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
lemon peel

Make a short crust pastry of the pastry ingredients and let it cool.

Mix all the ingredients for the filling, except the egg whites.
Whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold them in the filling.

Roll out the pastry and line the form (base and sides) or distribute the pastry by hand. Pour in the filling and bake at 180 celsius / 356 fahrenheit until light brown on top.

And this is approximately a picture of what it should look like (thanks to Evelix / pixelio.de):

Yeah, I can understand it a little when it comes to me. I'm a guy, Tanya's a female, and Glenn is always playing up to the females around here. He even posts the occasional picture of purses and shoes and stuff. But in your case, you let him take all those pictures of Candi to spice up his TR. You'ld think that was good for something in your case. I guess something like that doesn't get you much anymore!!! :sad2:
he does seem to play up to the ladies.
 but in his defense, not to many guys gracing these parts, so i guess he doesnt want to honk off the other 99% of his readers.

Well, Candi will make an appearance in the TR later on so....what can I say?

hey now, when did you meet up with her a second time.

jk:goodvibes

There's only one solution. Take me with you.
No, there is an additional solution......take me with you too! :lmao:
I think the TT hidden Mickey is much more visible on the pictures than from the car. I am sure it is put there specifically for the pictures.
Okay, I know I am a little late to this part of the discussion, but I just had the chance to go back through your latest update and really soak it all in. I already knew about the hidden Mickey in the TT photos, and I agree that it was probably done specifically to show up in the ride photos, but...........

You have another hidden Mickey in one of your other photos that nobody has mentioned. Can anyone else figure out where it is? If so, please don't spoil it for everyone else until they have had a chance to try and find it. Glenn, maybe you want to have an additional little contest to go with the Where is Judy-do contest for this one. Maybe everyone can PM you their answers.....if indeed anyone else can find this elusive HM. popcorn::

Since I already KNOW where it is, I won't play, :rolleyes1 but when the time comes let me know and I will send along my answer! :)

found it and PMed glenn the answer already:banana::cool1:

Glad to hear it! Car is doing fine. No more problems as of yet.....

Good. Don't forget -- it's getting to that time of year when you need to replace the summer air in your tires with winter air.

I would've just shrugged it off and pretend I hadn't found them to avoid looking like an idiot (not saying you did of course!) The way you revealed that you had found them was pretty smart.

I really wanted to not reveal to that CM that I'd just found my glasses, but somehow did. Maybe if I had found them 5 seconds before she returned, I would have shoved them into the backpack....but I literally pulled them out as she was walking up to the counter.

The picture of the alley in MK is gorgeous! It looks like a painting. I didn't know that alley existed until I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour last year. Amazing how Disney thinks of all the fine details.

FairyGodmotherJen took that one and yes, it's very nice. She talked about the alley on her thread, but didn't have a picture of the window, so we traded photos.

The details at Disney are amazing...constantly amazing.

All caught up again! I LOVE that you went to visit Jordan's former favorite bathroom. :lmao: Oh hilarious! Did James ever ask you why you took his picture there?

Yay! I guess finding that bathroom was on my mental to-do list, even though it wasn't on the planning spreadsheet. No, James never asked! Do you think he's just shell-shocked at this point?

Glad you found your glasses too...I'm sure your exact scenario happens quite often!

Thanks. Last year I called Lost and Found regarding some headphones that we lost while moving from POR to Kidani. Turns out I had thrown them into my camera case and I found them when we were packing to return home. So, I'm on a roll.

I'm anxious to find out how the auditions went!! :hyper:

I'd work on it, but I've got all these replies to do, and games to referee...

Is that ride pic of that girl next to you for real?! Nearly every pic I have of that people are grinning or looking nonchalant.

She was for real. I'm not that good at photo-shopping.

:surfweb:

Thanks, I didn't do anything to that picture other than click the shutter.

We hit that bathroom you're talking about 5 times per Epcot day. I know that one well.

Okay let's hear about the audition !!!!!!!:rotfl2:

I'm gettin' there. When I can.

all caught up and subbing on

:welcome: lledman! If you're looking for 'crazy' you've come to the right place.
