The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

:thumbsup2 What a fun meet!

Absolutely!

Yeah, way to go Glen :p

Somebody's gotta be last. I couldn't believe how close we were and then hit a traffic jam.

See we weren't smart enough to do that. The traffic was terrible! We passed the scene of an accident but that was only part of the traffic. The other hold up must've been purely due to volume.

Just turn down the radio. Duh. ;)

That happened to us too! I was thinking "Ummm I don't know any of you..."

Glad to know I wasn't the only one! I wonder why I only saw the unfamiliar people first? I was a milisecond short of saying, "I'm sorry -- wrong room." Now that would've been funny!

:rotfl2: It wasn't so bad! I warned Bubba that everyone would be calling her that.

I think some of us had some filling in to do on the way there and on the way back.

One for the history books for sure.

DIStory books.

Takia (sp?) That's at least how it's pronounced. I'm sure Liesa can correct us on that.

Oh yes, she will correct us. Funny thing is, when I got one I was able to poke around on the internet and I figured out what it was called. It wasn't easy though, and now I'm just too lazy.

Great choice ;)

Yes it was, wasn't it?

It's all I could do to keep a pouty face. Hilarious! :lmao:

You did the best at it. I failed miserably.

Oh, and Bubba was a sweetheart. Not nearly the gruff meany that you portray her to be. (Just kidding, just kidding. Calm down.)

I'm so bummed we missed out on that museum! Looks like a great place!!! I love all the pictures. Oh my gosh it was so much fun. We could've stayed and talked for hours. If only our schedules could coincide so we could all take a trip to Disney. That would be A-mazing  Great pictures Glen!

Oh, that's another thing. The last thing we saw was the Star Spangled Banner -- the actual flag that flew over Fort McHenry when Francis Scott Key wrote the words to the National Anthem. I thought that you and Bubba would have liked to have seen it since you had visited the fort the day before. It was pretty awesome to see. It's very quiet and reverential where they have it displayed.

Maybe Peepfest might be a trip where we can all get together again.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting some of the story and the pictures!!! I hope to have some uninterupted time on tonight after everyone else goes to bed. Sister's 3 kids are VERY difficult to get off the computer.

I had a "monumetal" good time yesterday, and sincerely hope too, that someday we can all Meet up again!!

Thanks to all who made it such a success!!!

BY THE WAY... for those of you who were at the WWII Mem and later, I am at the mercy of your pictures!! Please send me whatever you might have ASAP~ dinner esp!!

Wonderful update! Thanks for the pictures and the full description! What a lovely bunch of people. :thumbsup2 And you had nice weather, too! I am having a hard time forgiving Nuremberg for the terrible weather she greeted the Liesa family with... :headache:

And I think you may have posted even two shoe updates: There is a picture where you can see Liesa's sandals and I guess these might already be the ones she said she would have to find in Bowling Green. ;)

I think it was great that you, Jenbear and Bubba put on Disney shirts for the occassion. :thumbsup2 The two pictures of you with the girls from Canada are great. But the best picture award has to go to Rosie! :lmao::lmao:

Despite the carpy weather in Nuremberg, we had an ok time. It really wasn't the weather that was hard, but those who went out for the count with a barfathon.

YES! You did notice ONE of the TWO pairs I bought. I will post pix of those later tonight as well. Seriously, IF I could EVER get 10 continuous minutes on a computer, all would be well in my world.

I am glad that you were able to find shoes you liked! They look very nice! :goodvibes

And for Nuremberg: you just have to come again and do it over with everyone being healthy!! :thumbsup2

And by now I have actually revealed what the white stuff is on my TR... I was thinking  that the DC people would get some as well, that's why I did not say what it was... Did anyone "use" it at the DC meet?

Hi Glenn ... and anyone else lurking about that I had the pleasure of meeting in DC yesterday!! "Just Jamie" here ... testing ... 1 2 3 ... is this thing on?! TrayRene, English Rose, All 7 of Us, jenbear 123... can you hear me now?! Helllllllloooooooooooo, Jamie!!! SO great to have you "here"!!! It was super fun getting to know you a little bit yesterday, and it looks like you have the hang of it pretty well already. Of course, it will take you a while to learn how to post pix and links and other handy skills (I still don't know half of what some posters can do) but it's great you joined up, and are ready for our silly, goofy antics here.

Looks like everyone had a fabulous time. Loving all the pictures.

Glen-
Thanks for posting the pics and write up of what happened in DC! It looks like you guys had a great time! :goodvibes

You're very welcome! I hope you can get on the computer later. I kind of miss the days when our kids were younger and we could watch whatever we wanted, or go on the computer, yada yada yada.

I had a "monumetal" good time yesterday, and sincerely hope too, that someday we can all Meet up again!!

Ohhhh, that was bad. But despite that joke, we're looking forward to the time when we can meet again. Thanks again for the goodie bag, by the way!

Thanks to all who made it such a success!!!

It wouldn't have happened without your persistence.

Can't help you there.

We had great weather...kind of hot actually.

I had no idea that I should look at her shoes. I have no idea what she was wearing.

Thanks! We were Disneyfied. When I went to the podium at the restaurant I said that were were joining a large party and the guy said, "Disney?", as he looked at the Mickey Mouse on my shirt.

Sounds like they'll always remember Nuremberg.

That Magdalene is good.

Some tried it a little bit (I haven't yet). They said it was very salty. I showed it to James yesterday and had him guess. After I had him try a little he said, "IT'S SOME KIND OF POO ISN'T IT?!"

:welcome: Just Jamie!!! Yes, we read you (literally). I wasn't sure what I should call you in my narrative so I went with "Rob's friend". Hope you don't mind.

Welcome to the DIS also! You're doing great! You have a great avatar already...you look like a pro. If you have any questions, feel free to post them and we'll help you.

Hellooooo Leisa -- I think I might be getting the hang of this thing -- now let's see if I can post some of my pix ...

Pictures can be a challenge. Most people (including myself) use Photobucket to link their pictures. Do you have an account?

Now to get Judy and Bubba and JebB's hubby on here.

I was just looking back at the meet pictures and saw this ninja post. Sorry I missed it Brook.

What a WONDERFUL meet!! Ahhh, it makes me a bit teary eyed that I wasn't there to join in on the fun.

Sigh.

NEXT TIME! ::yes::

We missed you Brook. Yes, next time!

The food looked delicious, and the company even better. :goodvibes

Your assessment is spot-on.

P.S. I am loving the shoes and bags! :yay::rotfl:

I thought they might be a hit.

P.P.S. So someone brought up the "Find Judy" game at the meet???? That is soooo funny! How ever did you explain that to Judy??? We LOVE her!

Yes, Rosie said something like, "So what does Judy think of everyone searching for her in all of the pictures?" Which, of course elicited a puzzled look and a "huh?" from Judy. Then a lot of nervous laughter from the others. I explained it to her and she's okay with it, but is still kind of baffled as to why that would be "fun". It gets back to how do you explain the fun of the DIS to a non-DISer?

Thought of you this week-end - well, actually of Judy. DH and I and youngest son had gone on a bus trip to Cincinnati for the Cubs - Reds games over the weekend. We went to the hotel before the game on Saturday and our bus group had a little cocktail party. One of the gals brought what she said was a "Pampered Chef herbed cheese ball" It was wonderful - youngest son told me I need to find out how to make it. I have never been to a Pampered Chef party and don't know any distributors around here - but thought  "Glenn's wife sells Pampered Chef - I can ask him about it." So, consider yourself asked....;)

Tanya, the boss needs some more info. Was it shaped like a dome and have several layers to it? Do you know any of the ingredients in it?

I can see it now. On the next trip she will remember this and maybe either on purpose or on the sly, she will begin to stick parts of her ever so slightly in the picture just to "play" with us. :rotfl2:

:lmao: Your answer could be "DISers are slightly warped." and you'd just get the smile and nod from the wife. ;)

I can see it now. On the next trip she will remember this and maybe either on purpose or on the sly, she will begin to stick parts of her ever so slightly in the picture just to "play" with us. :rotfl2:

I hope she does!!!! That would make for SUCH a fun game!!!! Glenn, convince her!!!! :hyper:
