Day 2 - Part 3
James and I finished our visit to Endor and headed to meet the rest of our gang at our lunch destination, which was…
When we got there, Judy and Marlene were waiting but Lauren hadn’t arrived yet, so we took a seat on a short stone wall around the landscaping. A moment later she speedwalked up to us, hot, and out of breath.
She explained that she had forgotten that our fastpass window didn’t open until 11:20 and she must have arrived at the fastpass machine juuust before the time arrived. She got the fastpasses and without looking at them, walked all the way back across the park to Sci-Fi. Then, she looked at them and saw that they said something to the effect of “You currently have a fastpass for Toy Story Midway Mania. Another fastpass won’t be available until 11:20”. So, when we saw her she had just made her
second trip across the park and back. That’s one of those mistakes that once you make it, you will never repeat!
So, now we had Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster fastpasses for 3:15.
With everyone here, we turned our attention to lunch. I was a little bummed that we were going to miss the Star Wars parade, but I had made the ADR way before the times for various Star Wars Weekends activities had been announced. By the time I realized that our lunch was during the parade time, I couldn’t change it. I guess it was all for the best – we were hungry, but mostly ready for some air conditioning!
When I checked-in I asked if we could have a “car” booth and was told that with an ADR you are guaranteed one. That was good news, I hadn’t known that.
While we waited to be seated, I was surprised by the number of people that came in without an ADR, asking if they could be seated. Let’s turn to C-3PO for his take on this…
“Sir, the possibility of successfully being seated at Sci-Fi Dine-In during lunch hour on a Star Wars Weekend is approximately 3,720 to 1!”
Apparently these patrons responded with, “Never tell me the odds.”
After a few minutes our “parking attendant” came to escort us to our booth. We were seated toward the right side of the room, and this was our view of the screen.
The girls took the back seat.
Judy was beside me in the middle seat, and James was “driving”.
After we ordered I went over by the wall to get some pictures of the whole room.
You’re going to think I’m paranoid, but I noticed someone in the car next to us looking at us and then talking to the person they were with, as if about us. I wondered if they had seen pictures of me or us on the DIS. This was the only time anything like this happened on the trip, and no one ever approached us even though I had a laminated lime-green Mickey head attached to my backpack. I didn’t tell Judy about it until later in the day because I didn’t want her to be concerned about crazy DIS people

following us.
I took some pictures of all of the fun Sci-Fi stuff on the screen. I loved these old movie trailers! They were a hoot!
You’ve got your “Attack of the 50 foot woman”. (As if 5’ 4” isn’t enough?!)
Not to be outdone, we have “The Amazing Colossal Man”.
I guess I didn’t take any pictures of the trailer of this one, just the title. They showed scenes of this guy getting bigger and bigger. In one he was in a hospital room, filling it. Next, he’s towering over houses. My kids wondered how his clothes grew with him? Very perceptive, I thought.
