The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

I never spent much time in Innoventions, there always seemed to be things I rather would want to do. So I am really enjoying your detailed report about it as well as the many pictures. I like the look of the trash game, but I guess it is one of those things which is great fun if you do it with a group. :thumbsup2

But it seems that you missed the Storm show, which is one of the very few things that I did in Innoventions... :confused3

And just a totally useless bit of fact: the "stick-tight" is called "Klette" in German and we don't call Vecro Velcro, but "Klettverschluss", meaning "stick-tight fastener" :goodvibes

Well at least the first 2...:lmao: the E's are a bit easier but Kendall is the worst. She growls.

Ah yes, teens are the worst, or is it the best, at sleeping in. But the E's will get there soon.

LOL! Why does that not surprise me? So not fair, and she's a real life princess as if she needed more....

I know, I know.

are you sure you aren't an engineer? Totally enginerd humor there. :rotfl:

you are on your game today with the quips!

Judy says I could have been an engineer also.

looks like a fun time all around though I won't make a beeline for "what's your problem"

Yeah, I wouldn't go out of my way if I were you, but maybe if you're nearby and a show is about to start...

uh oh...a casualty?

Mmm hmmm.

Thanks for the updates. Can't believe you have already been there seven days.

Thanks! Are you saying that it seems like it's going quickly? Some people might point out that the telling of this story has been going on since late June. It's so cold outside now that I'm having a hard time remembering how hot and moist and exhausting this trip was!

10 judys again

That's two in a row Tanya! :cheer2:

Uh oh, what's Marv going to say?

Darn it, I was just about to post that too!:lmao: 10 Judys, unless you count the partial reflection of her in one of those pics which would make it 11 (or 10 3/4?). But I defer to the rules committee!

The Rules Committee has informed me that they were definitely thinking 10. Did you have a specific reflection that you need a ruling on?

Great update Glenn. You've really given a wonderful little tour of Innoventions. I think my DD's would like it in there, DD11 is very into weather so she'd probably love the storm exhibit. I have to say in all honestly, the velcro show looked a little what's the word...lame. Maybe it's just me but I can't get that excited about velcro. I can appreciate it's many uses but I don't think I'd want to sit through an actual show. Sorry!:goodvibes And a conveyor belt of babies? Just weird, lol!

Thanks. Your daughters are probably at a great age to really enoy it.

What, you've never seen a conveyor belt of babies before?

The garbage exhibit actually looks fairly interesting! And it certainly appears that your family enjoyed it!:goodvibes Too bad you were only 1 piece of garbage away from perfection.:headache: Did you name your truck or was it given to you? Either way, interesting name choice!

Yes, we got to name our truck when we started the game. It was Lauren's idea to make it Spanish-y.

The woman who was the host of what's your problem used to be one of the comedians from comedy warehouse at pleasure island.

I'm glad to hear that they're keeping some of those people employed even though PI isn't what it used to be. I really hope they can re-energize that place.

We haven't done very many of the games at inventions. Do they still have the game where teams go through the house looking for fire....or places where a fire could start? The boys played that one several years ago.

Yes, they still have that but we didn't do it. I think it's called "Where's the Fire?"

10 judys but now I have to finish reading. ;)

Correct, but late.

ETA: All caught up.

Did you miss the storm struck show wher you go in the theater and experience a tornado?

Yeah, I guess we did. Oops, it sounds like it might be good. Well, now we have something for next time. I didn't mean to give short shrift to Storm Struck. Say that five times fast.

I did Waste management in Sept with DS. The first station you were sorting recyclables and in the second station the drivers were dumping trash by the incinerator and the 2 on top were loading the incinerator being careful to not to have it too hot (red) or too wet ( blue).

Thanks. I was too busy taking pictures to understand what they were trying to accomplish.

Bet you didn't think you would have that much fun in innoventions. Not everything is a do every trip, but it good for a diversion now and again.

No, I did think we'd have a lot of fun so I wanted to make sure that we alotted some time to it.

I agree, a lot of things that are good for every now and again.

Thank you. I agree, the trash game needs 4 people. I'm not sure what they do with smaller parties...group people up with others, I guess.

But it seems that you missed the Storm show, which is one of the very few things that I did in Innoventions... :confused3

Yes, Pat pointed that out too. I just plain missed it. Something for next time.

And just a totally useless bit of fact: the "stick-tight" is called "Klette" in German and we don't call Vecro Velcro, but "Klettverschluss", meaning "stick-tight fastener" :goodvibes

That's awesome! Thanks for teaching us something new.

I plugged that into Google translate, just to test it, and sure enough it said that "Klettverschluss" means "Velcro fastener". Pretty impressive on Google's part.

12 Judy's! Reflections in pictures 12 and 15 (although pretty much only Judy's hand just under her real hand!!!)

Although I'm not expecting any real justice from the Rules Committee!

Correct, but late.

As always :sad2:

Yeah, I guess we did. Oops, it sounds like it might be good. Well, now we have something for next time. I didn't mean to give short shrift to Storm Struck. Say that five times fast.
Neat show- this is one you should catch the preshow while standing in line. The first time I saw it we awere able to walk right in and well, I felt I missed something. The second time I saw the video while you wait in line and it helped. Without giving too much away you need the info in the video to help you with surviving the tornado. :thumbsup2

Thanks. I was too busy taking pictures to understand what they were trying to accomplish.

Just lending a hand. :goodvibes

No, I did think we'd have a lot of fun so I wanted to make sure that we alotted some time to it.

I agree, a lot of things that are good for every now and again.

I always feel that area gets put towards the bottom of the must do list.
I have been trying to push it up on the list and keep it there.

Thank you. I agree, the trash game needs 4 people. I'm not sure what they do with smaller parties...group people up with others, I guess.

My DS and i did it, just the 2 of us. They just disable 2 positions. I think for the incinerator part I was on top dumping the trash in and he was driving below.

and hey, what’s better than a game about recycling and incineration and....detritus?

Up next: Our third casualty

OK, Am I going to need a dictionary now to start reading Liesa's and your trip report! :rotfl:

Fun update. The only thing funnier would have been to see you in the apron with 6 velcro babies attached to you chest!

Seriously - thanks for including those games in your TR because there are so many games like that in Innoventions that I've missed. Now, thanks to you, I don't ever have to worry about seeing them.

Third casualty? :sad2:

12 Judy's! Reflections in pictures 12 and 15 (although pretty much only Judy's hand just under her real hand!!!)

Although I'm not expecting any real justice from the Rules Committee!

I am not the Rules Committee, but I think you very much do have a point there. I am not sure, but I think Judy reflections have been counted as Judys before and they are very different from the ghost Judy parts in the Grid we discussed recently. They are only made out of real rays of light as compared to ones and zeros before they are made into ones and zeros by Glenn's camera, so this should count to something... :thumbsup2

What a fun update, Glen. I never realized just how much goes on in the Innoventions.

Looks like yo'u hd fun there! We actually went in there and I hate to say this "kill time" before our lunch at Coral Reef and the kids really enjoyed it. My boys did the game show thingm I forgot what you just called it, old age brain anywho my DH got best audiance person guess what he was the only adult sitting the audiance LOL. My DS11 wanted to go back there and finish his trash sorting but I was on a mission to go and country hop!

I love hearing about what people see and do at Innoventions. There always seems to be something different in there. That garbage game looks like fun! I'll have to give that one a try next time. Did you do the 3-D show at Storm Struck?

Uh-oh. Casualty? That doesn't sound good...

I haven't commented in a while, so I thought I'd drop in and just let you know I'm still here. I've been a lurker lately...

We did "What's your problem?" a couple years ago, we had a blast with it, but we're rather dorky, so maybe that's why :)

12 Judy's! Reflections in pictures 12 and 15 (although pretty much only Judy's hand just under her real hand!!!)

Although I'm not expecting any real justice from the Rules Committee!

Okay, okay...I can't deny those reflections are pretty apparent.

So, the Rules Committee is splitting this rounds points...half to Tanya, adjudicating that a "reasonable person" would respond with 10, and half to you for creative Judy spotting. I'd make you split your half with Molly because she mentioned reflections too, but unfortunately she said 11 and not 12. If you want, we can raise your half point to the gagillionth power, like we did for Dan.

10 judy's !!!!

That's a very reasonable response, Rosie.

Drat I wasn't first again !!!Marv are we gonna argue with the Rules committee again!!:lmao:

Well of course he is.

Neat show- this is one you should catch the preshow while standing in line. The first time I saw it we awere able to walk right in and well, I felt I missed something. The second time I saw the video while you wait in line and it helped. Without giving too much away you need the info in the video to help you with surviving the tornado. :thumbsup2

Okay, I'll try to remember that for whenever we catch that one.

Just lending a hand. :goodvibes

Gracias.

I always feel that area gets put towards the bottom of the must do list.
I have been trying to push it up on the list and keep it there.

I know exactly what you mean. You just have to do it.

My DS and i did it, just the 2 of us. They just disable 2 positions. I think for the incinerator part I was on top dumping the trash in and he was driving below.

Ahh, good info!

OK, Am I going to need a dictionary now to start reading Liesa's and your trip report! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: I've always liked that word from the first day I heard it in Biology class. I guess I've always thought it was kind of funny because of what it means and that it sounds like "Detroit".

I had my chapter ready to go, but read her latest update just before I posted and I thought "oh, I should easily be able to work that word into my chapter somewhere".

Fun update. The only thing funnier would have been to see you in the apron with 6 velcro babies attached to you chest!

There weren't that many dads in the audience (it's not that big of a room) so I thought that was a distinct possibility. But not one I was looking for.

Seriously - thanks for including those games in your TR because there are so many games like that in Innoventions that I've missed. Now, thanks to you, I don't ever have to worry about seeing them.

Oh dang, sounds like I've overshared. I meant to inspire you.

Third casualty? :sad2:

<insert sound clip of when somebody loses the Price is Right showcase showdown. Ba da ba ba da boooooow>

What's the point??? They're clueless!!! :confused3 And thanks for proving once again that 10 CAN'T be the correct answer........ :rolleyes1

Now now, it doesn't help to insult the Rules Committee.

:thumbsup2

No, this is the first time we've had reflections. A lot of people have looked for them, but this is a first.

What a fun update, Glen. I never realized just how much goes on in the Innoventions.

Thanks Kathy. There is quite a bit to see there.

Oh, I can definitely see how you'd say that you used it to kill time. I think that's what most people do, and what we've done in the past. I just wanted to be a little more thorough this time around.

Did you tell your son he could sort the trash at home? That's what I would've done. :rotfl:

I love hearing about what people see and do at Innoventions. There always seems to be something different in there. That garbage game looks like fun! I'll have to give that one a try next time. Did you do the 3-D show at Storm Struck?

Yeah, we had a nice time checking everything out.

No, I missed that show! I saw the theater, but it didn't really click, and we just looked at the displays. And hey, we have to leave something for next time, right?

Uh-oh. Casualty? That doesn't sound good...

Stay tuned!

I haven't commented in a while, so I thought I'd drop in and just let you know I'm still here. I've been a lurker lately...

No problem at all Kelly. Thanks for letting me know you're still reading along.

We did "What's your problem?" a couple years ago, we had a blast with it, but we're rather dorky, so maybe that's why :)

 No, it's a cute show. I may have come off a little too harsh. I think it'd be good for young kids....or those who are young in heart. ;)

Okay, okay...I can't deny those reflections are pretty apparent.

So, the Rules Committee is splitting this rounds points...half to Tanya, adjudicating that a "reasonable person" would respond with 10, and half to you for creative Judy spotting.
Congrats to Tanya for being the "reasonable person" in this menagerie! :woohoo: for half the points! Since this round was worth 100 instead of the usual 1, Tanya and I get 50 each, right??? :rolleyes1 ;)
I'd make you split your half with Molly because she mentioned reflections too, but unfortunately she said 11 and not 12.
You are SOOOOO good to me...... :sad2:
If you want, we can raise your half point to the gagillionth power, like we did for Dan.
That's okay, I know you are great friends with Dan with your Hoop Dee Do's, sharing Village People moments together, and the plethora of Candi pics. Millionth power will suffice! :thumbsup2
Well of course he is.
Knowing the value of points and the prestige associated with the Judy-do contest, I have to make sure the Rules Committee is on their toes at all times!!! :snooty:
Now now, it doesn't help to insult the Rules Committee.
After the latest "half just" ruling, I take back half of the bad things I've said..... raised to the gagillionth power!!!

BTW, I enjoyed the update! We have stopped and done a few of these activities before, but you covered a couple we haven't tried that might be worth another stop! And James looked like he was very intent with his surroundings working with those young ladies!!! ;)

I will never get here in time to post Judy's.:sad2: Dare I say, you have agreed with Marv? Is someone writing this down?? Well, I guess the TR report documentation is enough.:lmao:

I truly hope your third casualty is a ride that you didn't get to go on.....

the gagillionenth is mine marv.

i never knew that trash game was the involved.

i never noticed all those other stations before that you can play with that.

and i knew his stack would fall that middle circle was not his friend, he should have used that toward the end to make the antenna on the top of the tower.

:sad2:

but a valient effort.

Ok, this is taking this thread quite off topic and it involves MATH, so this is a warning to skip the following unless you are Glen (and possible Marv):

Doesn't raising something to a power (gagilionth or whatever) mean that you multiply it with itself? So if you have something smaller than one which you mulitply with itself it will become smaller. So why would Marv then want to raise his half point to the gagilionth power?????

I am pretty sure about the math involved (even though there is the Latin saying: judex non calculat), but not on the language, so perhaps this is the problem???

Congrats to Tanya for being the "reasonable person" in this menagerie!

Sounds like a "that ain't sayin' much" situation.

:woohoo: for half the points! Since this round was worth 100 instead of the usual 1, Tanya and I get 50 each, right??? :rolleyes1 ;)

Well, I don't know about that....you don't want "point inflation". You don't know what that'll do to the stock market, US currency valuation, etc. etc.

You are SOOOOO good to me...... :sad2:

I know. TOO good.

That's okay, I know you are great friends with Dan with your Hoop Dee Do's, sharing Village People moments together, and the plethora of Candi pics. Millionth power will suffice! :thumbsup2

You've got it...consider it done! 1/2 point to the millionth power.

Knowing the value of points and the prestige associated with the Judy-do contest, I have to make sure the Rules Committee is on their toes at all times!!! :snooty:

Judging by what goes on, you'd think there was a lot of value and prestige. :sad2:

After the latest "half just" ruling, I take back half of the bad things I've said..... raised to the gagillionth power!!!

You don't have to go to the trouble, just to the single power is fine.

BTW, I enjoyed the update! We have stopped and done a few of these activities before, but you covered a couple we haven't tried that might be worth another stop! And James looked like he was very intent with his surroundings working with those young ladies!!! ;)

Glad you read it, er, I mean liked it. I'm sure James didn't mind being teamed-up. :rolleyes1

I will never get here in time to post Judy's.:sad2: Dare I say, you have agreed with Marv? Is someone writing this down?? Well, I guess the TR report documentation is enough.:lmao:

You can see that it can get pretty cut-throat, so maybe you're better off.

I truly hope your third casualty is a ride that you didn't get to go on.....

I wish.

i never knew that trash game was the involved.

i never noticed all those other stations before that you can play with that.

Yeah, I never realized that there were that many stations involved in it either.

and i knew his stack would fall that middle circle was not his friend, he should have used that toward the end to make the antenna on the top of the tower.

:sad2:

but a valient effort.

Me too. You can see in that one picture before he let go of the stack, that they were doomed. :rotfl2:

:ssst: Shhhh. I was getting a lot of mileage out of placating these guys who didn't bother to do the math. :teacher:

You have judged wisely my dear! That is exactly why I let Dan have his to the gagillionth power, while I opted for the lowly millionth. And the very reason I took back half of what I have said bad about the Rules Committee, raised to the full gagillionth. ;)
Well, I don't know about that....you don't want "point inflation". You don't know what that'll do to the stock market, US currency valuation, etc. etc.
Hmmm, had not fully considered the economics of the situation. :sad2: Consider that I might reconsider..... :rolleyes1
I know. TOO good.
:rotfl2:

Doesn't take much does it....
Glad you read it, er, I mean liked it. I'm sure James didn't mind being teamed-up. :rolleyes1
Okay smarty britches!!!

There was actually a lot more to the activities than my boys took the time (patience?) to discover. Some of that does look kinda cool!!!
Me too. You can see in that one picture before he let go of the stack, that they were doomed. :rotfl2:
His fate was inevitable!
:ssst: Shhhh. I was getting a lot of mileage out of placating these guys who didn't bother to do the math. :teacher:
I don't think she explained it clear enough for Dan to figure it out, so you should be good for a while longer (unless he gets Candi to explain it to him......). :rotfl:
