"The Middle" @ WDW

I saw myself on tv! I had hoped I would be able to (I was at one day of the filming)

Grand Villa @ The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

That's what I thought!! We haven't stayed there yet but the colors/theming looked right.

DH argued with me and thought it was a suite at the Contemporary, silly man:lmao:

We are on season 5. The episode was 119 according to my DVR. Hope that helps.

It certainly does-it looks like we are about 10 episodes behind in the UK-I'm amazed, its normally about 10 series behind! Must keep an eye out for it coming on!

I wish they would have spent more time at Disney World during the episode, instead of the bricks girlfriend storyline.

I actually saw a preview of the episode, and the CM at the entrance gate DID say that their tickets were for DisneyLAND. :lmao:

Also, to echo PPs, YES the total lack of planning was driving me up a wall. I was practically yelling at my TV "DON'T JUST STAND THERE WASTING TIME, GO DO STUFF!!" and "OMG WHY WAS THAT SPLASH MOUNTAIN LOG SENT OUT HALF EMPTY?!"
I think they had the ride closed? Not too sure but I had a FP at 11 and there was no line...for standby which I thought was really odd at 11:00 especially since they closed the MK that afternoon due to it reach capacity. .I asked the CM why and he mentioned the weather?? It was a little drizzle....not enough to close down a ride. ...then I heard the middle was taping earlier......

How do they film TV shows like this in the parks? Do they block off the area where they are filming and only use extras or is it business at usual? During the scene where they are at the entry gates to MK, I was really curious if everyone in the shot was an extra or if some of the people were true guests - they were looking at the family like they were nuts when the Disneyland thing came up! haha

Also curious - the tables that the parents were eating at in France appeared to be directly across from Le Chefs de France. Are there usually tables out there? I was racking my brain trying to think if there are normally tables there, or if it was just set up for the shot.
They ropes off an area, I was just walking into the MK to watch the new 3 pm parade around2:50 and I had to go to the far left turnstyle or mickey head and then I noticed the Middle was filming so I was able to watch. Since it was 3 pm the entrance was not busy. There were guest there inside the roped area who were invited to attend. They were all within 10 feet from me...Axel even left the roped area to go inside where the store is and walked right by me. The extras could have been from the invited guest or from the crowds.....I didn't get to ask anyone.

During the illuminations scene, they were having a dessert party in Italy....so that was roped off as usually. We were just walking around trying to find a spot and noticed the cameras so we watch them on the bridge as we watched illuminations. Brick wasn't there, they had a kid that looks like him....but I noticed he was in that scene.....TV magic. ........earlier in the day Brick walked right in front of me around France and he looked like he wasn't feeling well. After illuminations the CM escorted them out through Italy so you couldn't meet them, but it was cool seeing them..... Axel was raising up his popcorn to us to get the crowd to wahoo.....we did that a few time...........and the Sue flashed her huge smile at all of us too.

My dd said during the day she saw mike in france and he was standing next to her....I would have seen that scene but I went the other way.....by the time I heard they were filming in France it was over.....I think they filmed it in morning before the countries opened as we entered from international gateway around 11-11:30 and it was over.

OMG-the horror when I woke up and found out I dozed off before they got to the world! My kids were even MORE horrified that the Disney-nut in the house fell asleep while they stayed up and watched it!!!:furious:

I bet that was SO cool, I would have loved that, I'm a big fan of the show. Did anyone find themselves pointing out "that's not right" points? Like when they go to the hotel and they tell them they can watch fireworks from balcony we were like no if MK is closed the fireworks would be over. LOL Loved the show!

I did that with DH. He thought I was crazy. The things you learn while researching an up coming trip. I kept looking out for my disboards in the background, then forgot what any of you looked like. lol. That was a cool episode.

I thought the writers for this episode did a superb job of making a funny show about Disneyworld without making fun of Disneyworld. Given that so much of the theme of this series is how this family always has such bad luck, that was a very fine line to tread.

I kept screaming use the MDE app it has the ride times. Sue did all that prep, put everything in a binder. That got on my nerves. Brick and them Mickey ears.
