I feel that you cannot truly understand and appreciate my trip reports without knowing how much a welcome home means to me...
Growing up our family always vacationed at WDW...not just our immediate family but always a variety of aunts, uncles, cousins, grand-parents and friends...We may have been the original Magical Gathering crew....my parents worked so hard to be able to do this...and no matter where we stayed or what we did when we were there, we were happy and no doubt a family. In 2001, my parents got us a present on their 25th anniversary cruise...They joined the DVC. We went on our first trip home with them, staying at the VWL in January 2004. We stayed in a two bedroom villa with my parents, grand-parents and my husband and daughter. This trip was special for many reasons:
1. It was

2. It may have been my grand-parents last trip to WDW.
3. It was our first time home
Anyway...on this trip we were comfortable, we were relaxed...we were a family at home...and we were Welcomed Homed so many times that we actually got used to hearing it. We were welcomed by CMs in the lobby of the villas, in the parks and everywhere else in between. The first time my DH experienced this, we were racing to Space Mountain for one more ride before the park closed. The DVC CM in Tommorowland saw our DVC hats and yelled welcome home to us as we jogged past. I laughed and said thank you...my DH asked me as we were nearing the queu...What did she say? Welcome Home! Why? Because of the DVC... Well, how did she know? Your hat Ernie, your hat... Well, anyway, after that he loved hearing it too.
A few months later, my in-laws joined DVC too. So now, we are pretty sure of where our DD will be spending her vacations for a very long time...
I love going home, whether to my parents home away from home the VWL or my in-laws SSR. Im sure that we will have many happy memories there, as many as I have from my youth.
So, sit back and enjoy as I bless you all with my daily reports for our vacation and all the ways that the DVC makes us feel at home in WDW. As of tonight, we only have two days left until our trip...two more days until we go home. I simply cannot stand the wait any longer...
