I was thinking would it be considered cheating for us to help each other with the mazes? I figured that I would try to mark my path. Depending on how the mazes are. That way we can hope to finish all three levels. If we keep in touch with Pms on the board or posting publically certian tips it might help.

I am not saying that we need to tell everyone how to do it exactly but maybe if someone masters it (oh I hope I do) then they can help the people that are not so good at it.

So many of you have been awesome about helping win pirate games and fireworks pins that this might be another way for The Dis to band together and figure this maze thing out.

I don't think it's cheating any more than the guide giving the location of all the hidden mickeys.

I think of it more as "friendly assistance".

Its like doing the quests with your family together, not cheating! We should use the boards to coordinate and setup small groups to enter the mazes together.

if the maze is as difficult as Kaironzet I probably will not be much help LOL

but I am in.

Event News
To celebrate the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland on September 12, 2005 VMK will hold a 4-day event. Shops will be stocked with Pins and other special items, and our staff — with the help of some very talented and generous Community Leaders — is working around the clock to create a maze of rooms for you to explore.

The maze will have three levels of difficulty, with different rewards for completing each. You can complete each level as many times as you wish, but to be sure there are enough virtual prizes for everyone, we ask that you limit yourself to one prize per level.

If you reach the end of the maze and a VMK Staff member isn't there, please wait; they might be out looking for a lost explorer!

We want to be sure a staff member is on hand to help find anyone who gets lost (and of course reward everyone who survives it!) so the maze will operate under the following hours (all times are Eastern):

Friday September 9:
Opens at 4:00pm, closes at 7:00pm (last reward given at 7:30pm)
Opens at 9:00pm, closes at 11:00pm (last reward given at 11:30pm)

Saturday September 10:
Opens at Noon, closes at 3:30pm (last reward given at 4:00pm)
Opens at 6:00pm, closes at 9:30pm (last reward given at 10:00pm)

Sunday September 11:
Opens at Noon, closes at 3:30pm (last reward given at 4:00pm)
Opens at 6:00pm, closes at 9:30pm (last reward given at 10:00pm)

Monday September 12:
Opens at 4:00pm, closes at 7:00pm (last reward given at 7:30pm)
Opens at 8:00pm, closes at 10:00pm (last prize rewarded given at 10:30pm)

Mark your calendar and plan to join us as we celebrate the opening of a brand new Disneyland park.

Actually, we can NOW begin cheating but I don't think it is a nice thing to do. I can make for sure that there will be more mazes than the ones you could count...

I am not talking about my maze, I am talking about the event's mazes, they are already made(pretend I didn't say this)

Ooh...ooh...He's one of the Community Leaders that the memo refers to! Attack!! Attack!! Attack!! ;)

I am referring to the event mazes here not your personal maze again....
ok it is not cheating, it is helping your fellow player...and why would you want to do that..to make something so difficult(esp.since this is a child's game geared to 8-12 year old)it is a virtual game it is not real money, real stuff we are talking about here, it cost no one real money and it is supposed to be FUN not FRUSTRATING.

ok rant over.

you maze is flippin' hard lol I tried that sucker the other day. Talk about a headache! lol

I'll try and help. I probably won't be able to start until the 2nd session on Friday.

I'll try to help, but as my husband will tell you: I'm directionally impaired!

I think you took that too personally. I am not talking about your maze. To me there is a big difference between a guy running a maze in his room that took him a lot of time to produce, investing the time and giving prizes all himself. Honor would never allow me to even think about cheating. I respect the people that put all the effort into a game where people are sure to complain about all aspects of it.

This is an event game that VMK is going to put on. I am sure of a few things. It is going to take a lot of time to get into a room and some of us will never have a prayer of getting through it. I also know that probably half of us are going to crash either waiting in line to get to a maze or while we are doing it. I will most likely be the one who crashes as I an exiting the last room. I always seem to crash in the trading chair with staff. Those types of things are going to make even the easy maze challenging. I would like to think that we can help the directionally challenged people. We share so much information here about all topics.

No one got upset when all the quest answers were posted. Some of the really good Pirates played set up teams to help others win the invisibility pin. I did not look at that as cheating but as kindness I was thinking about the maze thing in the same way.

You could look at the kind hearted souls that offer to play Fireworks to help someone win a pin or the person that posted a blow by blow game plan for winning as cheaters too I guess.

I know that this doesn't have much to do with "cheating" but i was wondering how exactly are we to access this maze and does it open on eastern standard time or pacific. im assuming eastern standard time because thats what the game runs off of. and, last thing, any idea what the prizes might be?

I think it is a great idea if we can all help each other. I am not very good at mazes but I will try my best. I cannot be on Saturday but I am going to try to be on tonight and Sunday night for sure.

Sounds like fun.

Just a thought though, does anyone think that with the breaks set up throughout the day by the VMK staff, do you think they will mix up the sequence during that time to prevent people from sharing details?

I am hoping to draw myself a little map along the way, as I am sure I will have to retry this multiple times. If you have the time, the best strategy and what always works for firemen in a smokey building is just keep making right turns and you will eventually find your way out. With the VMK mazes, I am pretty much going with the strategy of starting with the portal closest to the top right of every room and then working my way clockwise if I find myself back in the same room later. Hope it works.

I think they will mix up the teleporters also. I run a teleporter/maze game, and always move the teleporters around before I start it.
LOL, I love the right turn strategy. I used to use it all the time, back in the old days of MUDs
