The May 2007 Rate/Code Watch

Finally got our dates figured out so here's hoping for a discount of some kind.
Smiles, Diane =0) :tigger:

The discount can be applied to a package or a room only ressie, but the only portion of a package that is actually discounted is the room. Hope that makes sense. Also, room only ressies can be made thru Disney CRO but packages cannot. So if you want the DDP with a AAA discount on your room, you must book thru a AAA agent. I hope that helps you!

It does help...tremendously! Thanks so much! :)

Can someone tell me about the AP? Does it let you in only one park a day, or can you jump from park to park?

I'd upgrade one of our tickets if it was worth it for a good rate. We are in POP Century right now, but would like to upgrade the the Wilderness Lodge if the rate was good enough.

A regular AP is good for unlimited hopping to all 4 major parks..a PAP also adds in the water Parks

Thanks!

Another question, though. Through reading it seems that if you use an AP rate for the hotel, you can't get the dining plan as part of your package? Is that right? We LOVe the dining plan more than we love the Wilderness Lodge so that would be a deal breaker for us! :)

Hi all - I'm also not-so-patiently waiting for the May codes to come out! Does anyone happen to know what the AP discounts were last May?

From mousesavers:

4/23/06-6/3/06 package discount for Disney Rewards Visa cardholders 2/20/06, exp 3/30/06
4/23/06-6/3/06 Annual Passholder room-only rates 2/22/06, exp 6/3/06
4/23/06-6/3/06 Florida resident room-only rates 2/23/06, exp 6/3/06

So looks like AP room only codes were released on 2/22/06. There were no general public codes released for spring 2006. Looks like you have a little wait, but not too bad.

Has anyone seen any "state" rates out other than Florida recently? I'm in GA. What are the hopes? Is that a thing of the pass too?

Thanks.

Any idea what the Visa discount entailed?

Sorry, don't remember. It was probably ticket related. I do know it was not for free dining--that I would've remembered. I'm sure someone here on the disboards booked it and will supply details.

I had a room at Pop for $74 a night...that was a $25 a night savings since the rack rate was $99 a night. (That was for early May)

It is possible that I *may* be going at that time next year. However, it will be quite some time before codes come out, if at all. Regardless, at least we now have our own thread!
hi. first time on this..so not too sure how it works but, we're planning a may 10th trip and of course am looking for a good price.. how and where do i get/find these "codes"?:confused3

would love to know if there are any discount rates on GF. My Dad is a HUGE fan of this place - won't stay anywhere else

Wasn't it the hopper/water parks ticket upgrade? IIRC, they released that to Disney Visa holders a few days before opening it up to the general public.

That is what I was thinking, but since they just had that special for Jan-Mar, I wasn't sure.

We just changed our ressie over the weekend. We are now scheduled for Apr. 28th to May 9th for POFQ.

We have to wait an extra month but I am so excited!

Codes are something that you can take advantage of in a couple different ways. If you purchase an annual pass ticket, and Disney releases "annual passholder" rates, then as long as your ticket is still valid (good for one year from first use), you can book your room only at the annual pass rate.

If you are a Florida resident, with a valid FL drivers license, you can take advantage of Florida resident rates which are usually about the same as annual passholder rates and are usually posted at the same time.

Sometimes Disney Visa offers special discount packages, so you can take advantage of those if you are a disney visa cardholder.

Also, AAA has room-only discounts available for its members.

All these discounts can be monitored at www.mousesavers.com that is the general "internet authority" on when these discounts are released.

Finally, some people for unknown reasons, are lucky enough to have a "code" attached to their name in the Disney reservation system. They are offered a special rate when they call to make a reservation. This appears to be very random with no way to "sign up" for this sort of thing. Hope that helps.

I've never used codes before so can anyone tell me if they release AP codes for May, can they be used on DVC rooms? I have several nights booked on cash right now so any discounts would be greatly appreciated!

i'm interested in this information also. can you use these codes if you're booking time at a dvc location instead of a hotel? probably a dumb question but i've never figured this out. thanks for any help

I just booked the Poly for May 16 thru May 26! :cool1: We are so excited! We haven't been to the Poly in 3 years. Come on code!
