The Man Thread

Who do you call when things fail? NASA. The space shuttle has less in the cockpit. All ya need now is a water bed and mood lighting in the back. Uh, don't forget the shag rug on the ceiling.
Then the van can serve as the mother in law room when camping.

:goodvibes

Got you covered ... The walls are indoor-outdoor carpeting and this

converts into a bed albiet not water, but it's not for sleeping :lmao:

These lights are all along each side and I cut slits in the barrel and they cast a neat pattern on the ceiling. :cool1: I can turn them on or off from the cab in the pic following the next one. One switch controls all on the driver's side and the other two for those forward of the cargo door and the other aft of the cargo door :rotfl:

You can see the light on the ceiling, but the pic is not very good since this was done with a film camera and I was too cheap to get the exposure just right

As far as any MIL, she can find her own lodging, this Van is just for us two old people now. :woohoo:

Any more questions on something I might have overlooked. :rotfl2:

Gotta run off to DTD, late lunch at Fulton's and FW in the MK tonight. party:

went from an 01 quad cab dakota 5.9 4x4 which took 2 tanks of cheap gas to get from tallahassee to ftw-2 tanks back, towing an 05 keystone zepphlin 241.
DW just bought me an early christmas present(last friday)- 05 quad cab dodge 2500 cummins 2wd. now being that i work at a dodge dealer i like these trucks, and have driven a mess of them, but the dakotas gas usage really stunk. so ill have to see how the new one does towing, hopefully soon.

Going from a Dakota to a 2500 with the Cummins will obviously be like night and day when it comes to power, stopping, interior room, etc.. But even if the fuel mileage is better, the higher price of diesel will help to offset that.:confused3

Current tow vehicle is '08 F-250 PSD Lariat Crew Cab. I like everything about the truck except the mileage. On our first tow this past week to Ft. Wilderness from Atlanta I averaged exactly 9.5 MPG's towing our 30 FT Airstream. On the same trip, I averaged 12.6 MPG's with my '05 F-250 PSD Lariat Crew Cab. I also think I had better highway speed torque with the 6.0 L diesel than I do with the 6.4 L. Daily commute on '05 was 19 MPG's and '08's is 15 MPG's at best so far. Other than that, I like the new truck's ride and seats better than the 05's.

But Conan, you must have a manly tent don't you. Like vietnam surplus complete with bullet holes.

Nope...its Blue and Orange and has a screen porch. :tink:

At least I can get the boss to go camping!

I do have a small blue dome tent that my wife won't stay in. It's great for just a few nights, but, after a while it gets kinda small.

Don't feel bad Ftwildernessguy, I am pulling a pop up with a Chevy 1500 Conversion van with a std 5.7. Nothing special on the pulling power but I doubt I will need it yet. Haven't pulled the pop up yet with it but I will be this spring and in June to the Fort. Hope the mileage isn't too bad as we have a 1300 mile trip each way.

Don't feel so bad the wife hauls around her Jayco tent trailer with a Pontiac Montana minivan with the 3.4 litre V6 in it LOL. She gets an upgrade in the form of the new GMC Acadia before we leave for Fort Wilderness next October. That has the 3.6 litre V6 out of the Caddy CTS in it we will be pulling her tent trailer down from London Ontario a little over 2400 Kilometers.

Geesh, the man thread has turned into more of a "I wish I was a man" thread. Next someone will post a pic of their pink tents with matching flower boxes.

When we were little, all of us kids would make forts out of big cardboard boxes. I was the only one that would put flower boxes under my windows! :rotfl2:

I wish I could figure out how to do that on my tent!

I wasn't aware you could quite remember that far back lol. You've been away Roz and I missed messing with you.
