I'm not trying to hijack this thread, but I've posted on other boards on the Dis and haven't gotten a reply. Has anyone posting or lurking here been to Bistro De Paris? What do you think?

Buzz went at least twice. He posted some pics in my PTR for April. I'm pretty sure he liked it a lot. :) And I'm SURE he'll have more to add when he gets here. :)

If he ever comes back...

My real question is is it wildy inappropriate to take kids? I know there's no kids menu, but we've tried all of the other signature restaurants with kids and they've behaved, but this is the only signature with no kid's menu...

True! What I'm really looking for is whether or not it would be appropriate to bring kids. I've seen the menu and we know we want to go, I just don't know that it's appropriate to bring kids given that they don't offer a kid's menu.

I saw his post on your TR - thanks for the heads up. Place looks great - it's just whether or not we should bring the kids.

What about calling the resturant directly? the number cant be hard to get,,just like calling your local resturants,,,,,,

I tried asking WDW-DINE, and they said kids were OK, but as there was no kids menu, they could eat off our plates (both kids are under 3). She also said that she's taken her kids there and there wasn't an issue. So I'm stuck as to what to do...

If they're well behaved I'd go, have you tried starting a thread asking that question on the restaurants board?

I did do that - no replies yet. Besides, I trust you guys more than I trust 'everyone else'...

With restaurant reviews, hotel reviews, ride reviews, yes. With my life? I'm not so sure....

Two replies from the Restaurant Board:

1) I rarely see kids at Bistro.
2) The lack of a children's menu is not by accident.

and

We are a family of 7 and ate there last summer. The youngest at the time were 12 and 15 and the restaurant offered them kids meal options, which they were happy about. While there weren't many kids present it didn't seem to be a problem. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The food is very good and I would suggest you go ahead and try it. Do not be intimidated. Enjoy!

So a mixed bag...

Oooooh number 2 isn't very nice, wants you to take kids there even more :rotfl2:

I was thinking the same thing JO, but then again that response is probably from someone who complains about the kids all the time. My mom always tells me about people who tell her when they are being seated (and the place is packed) that they don't want to be near any kids. My response would be, well then you should probably vacation somewhere else. I probably wouldn't last too long as a CM, eh:rolleyes:

I'm leaning that way. They haven't had that experience anywhere else as all of the other places (Yachtsman, Artist Point, etc) have kid's menus. They've eaten at Chefs De France, but none of us have eaten at Bistro. Barring harsh words from Buzz, I think we'll go for it!

Wait you actually trust us? I should say them because I only started replying to this thread a few days ago. All joking aside this is a very knowledgeable group so I think you are in fairly safe hands.

I know, I know. It's a tough thing to admit, but cut through all the sarcasm and gentle (and not so gentle) ribbing there are some pretty good people here. Plus, anywhere you can find a group who thinks it's worthwhile to read 180 pages of a TR for 2 days worth of actual reporting have to be good people!
