:lmao: I have to say that I have never seen anybody here in Kingston do that. Not even in the student "ghetto". Now of course they build all sorts of other inappropriate things out of the snow but no beer fridges. :rolleyes1
You're just not invited to the cool kids' party houses!

Well it might explain things if you knew my school....Sir Sanford Fleming College - school of Natural Resources in Lindsay. "Natural" being a key ingredient in many a day off recreational activity!:rotfl:

If I remember correctly, all the guys downstairs were in Forestry or Forest Recreation programs...I believe the reason they gave the fire chief for thier unique construction project was that they were practicing emergency life survival skills.:lmao:

:lmao: Sounds like an excuse some of the students around here would use to try and get out of trouble, of course if that one fails they pull out the "Well my dad's a lawyer card".

Who needs the cool kids parties anyways when your friends drag you to Montreal to a strip club and then get you so drunk that you need to be carried from the bar and do not remember the night at all. :rolleyes1

"my dad's a lawyer"
:rotfl2:
that is soooooooooooooooo funny, I was at a Queen's party once where the police showed up and I actually heard someone say that:rotfl: ...but man, that was a great party!:woohoo:

 Well Queen's students are known for their parties *cough*Aberdeen *cough* The police crash almost all the parties now, heck the Toronto Police and OPP have to come and assist the local PD on Homecoming weekend. :sad2:

That's too bad. I know we had some great parties in college but they always seemed like good clean fun...nothing that required crowd or violence control, just a little talking to turn down the music...and maybe someone to put out the bonfine that always seemed to be lit in the courtyard:rotfl: (there were an awful lot of sofa's burned back then...I bet the 2nd hand store just loved seeing the students return in September!)
Though I know it only takes 1 person to start something and ruin it for everyone....I had a classmate whom I heard boasting about taking the insurance off his truck so that he would have beer money in my last year of college. ..I quit drinking then and there, as I had been a passenger in said vehicle on a number of occaisions, now I rarely drink at all...it was most sobering.:sad2:
But if there's a taxi waiting, I'll have a Bailey's and Hot Chocolate pleez :upsidedow

That is usually all the police need to do on most nights but the townies are all up in arms because of the Aberdeen party in years past and carry around a hatred of the Queen's students that even the smallest noise and they will call the police with a noise complaint. It is unfortunate but the parties still go on, people just need to learn to be smarter about it.

very true...some people once they get a bug in their but just won't let it go and then if festers over to others!
I grew up in a very small town that has a college and for some reason there has always been a very big grudge between the high school students and the college kids...then you grow up and realize that your town and all the stores in it wouldn't be there if not for all the money that the college brings in.
I never realized this until I went to college in Lindsay and it was the same thing there, all the high school kids were always trying to pick fights with the college students...but considering, I spent close to $30,000.00 in a town that I had rarely been to before and have only been to 2X since, they should have been honoured to have me!:rotfl:

 The local kids have no problem with us in fact they probably love the university seeing as how so many of them like to hang out here, its the adults that are the problem! The people who have the problem with Queen's are the ones who have chosen to live right in the middle of the student "ghetto" and next to the campus. My point of view is that if you don't like the neighbourhood then move! They would make a fortune selling their house as housing around Queen's is very limited. They could get a bigger and nicer house in a different part of town with the money they would make off it and then they wouldn't have to deal with the hated Queen's students. Makes sense to me. :confused3

But then they wouldn't get to say how they live in the "university district":snooty: and they would have to find a real reason to complain!!

WHAT?!? You mean I spent all day freezing my *** off helping DH put up our icicle lights with an extension ladder - when I could have hired someone to do it for us? My hands are still numb!

Yep, we have a guy who comes to our house and puts them lights up. Actually, I think it's 3 guys-they do an awesome job!! It's expensive, but well worth the money!
