And they had a Shadow Insurance with a palette of 6 amazing colors - 2 of which I will barely use, I already know (the clue and green) for $35. Just a few bucks more, right?

Those colors look REALLY pretty! Are those cream shadows or powder? And what's the thing in the tube beside them?

Do you have dark brown/black hair too? We must have the same coloring. I use purples, grays, and I have been using some deep mustardy tan in the crease another Mac Pallet. I use MAC and Stila. You have the same eye shape as me also. I got a MAC pallet which is coordinted with all the colors of from dark to light. Pale pink over the lid to the brow(does not show pink) as a base lighter gray purple on lid, dark on edge(check out Gosssmakeup artist for the application of it). I use the brown stila liner but very very close to my lashes and then mascara. In the v on the side of your eye I use a tiny and I mean tiny bit of MaC carbon it defins and makes deep set eyes pop. Really all I do is put a tiny vee and then blend it. Now bear with me here, I got the idea from youtube lanaindiana..she is a nut and would not wear my make up as extremely as she does but the little black really works.

Stila smudge pot brush... get the thin angled brush at ULTA when it is on sale bogo it works great on the eyeliner.
.

Thanks for the color suggestions! Purple is appealing to me. Would a gray or a brown work also? What about a green?

I'm confused on the "v" you're talking about. Is that the outer eye corner or the inner eye corner? Will look up that youtube video. Thanks!

Blahhhh! Dont cut it. You should have called him.

If you (or anyone) is in this predicament - a handy tip: Dont just CUT it (straight across, with the shears opposite your hair... like this - hair up and down - shears across: +)

Chip into it. With the shears the same as your hair (so hard to describe) but take your section and holding your hair, take your shears and go into in, the same direction.

hair ----> |
shears -> ^

Does that make sense? You wont get as harsh a line, and you can kinda gauge what you're doing as you go along, much easier.

It's good for bangs, too.

OK, I cut my own bangs in between my hair appointments (every 6 weeks, but my bangs just dont' last that long). How do you cut your hair with the scissors held vertically??? :confused3 I'm picturing a VERY ragged edge if you're just taking out little chunks here and there...

Where has this thread been hiding?!? I'm starting from the beginning and working my way up until now. Can't wait to see what you all have been trying. :surfweb:

Make sure you hide the credit card first! :lmao: This thread can be expensive. Just ask Threeboysmom, she knows. :rotfl:

I've been thinking, I may need to move my link to the Disboards to my "makeup sites" folder instead of Disney. I think this thread is about the only one I have time to read anymore. Speaking of makeup sites, anyone know how to reset a user / password on Makeup Alley? I signed up, but now I can't remember what I signed up as. I did find another site that has some reviews, but it isn't as extensive as MUA.

:rotfl: Oh believe me I know how addicting makeuping (is that even a word?) can be!! I belong to MANY makeup sites and blogs.

I'm not sure how to reset on MA. But I preferhttp://www.specktra.net
this site has some great reviews and blogs of up and coming makeup!

Thanks for the link. I really like that it has a lot of MAC stuff. I really like all of the MAC products I've used. Even mascara that most people on MUA seem to not like.

Has anybody else questioned the quality of products you've purchased from Beautycrunch? A few months ago I bought 2 of the Two Faced 'Fantastic Plastics' sets, because I already knew that I liked the Lash Injection mascara. Since the price of the set was about the same as just the mascara in the store, I figured I couldn't go wrong.

Well, the mascara I got in the sets is just not the same. I wonder if it was a bad lot, and that's how these products ended up in Beautycrunch's hands in the first place. It doesn't make 'tubes'. It doesn't lengthen my lashes. And it does smudge and give me panda eyes. It's just all wrong. And I went and bought 2 sets. I've been using the first one for several weeks because I don't like to waste things, but I finally broke down and bought a new tube of Hot Chocolate at Ulta on Friday. I figure I can give the other tube to my teenaged niece.

I remember that way up-thread somebody had said they tried Lash Injection mascara and didn't understand what all the fuss was about. Maybe you purchased it from Beautycrunch, and got the same poor quality mascara I got. If so, you might want to buy some at a store and give it another shot.

In the Fantastic Plastics set, along with the mascara, are Lip Injection and Wrinkle Injection. I tried the Lip Injection because I would like a little bit of lip plumping - not "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" - otherwise known as "Angelina Jolie" lips, just a little plumping. I found that Lip Injection stings like the dickens for a minute or two, then that goes away. My lips turn red, but don't swell at all. I can get red lips without the stinging, so that product is a bust.

I really like Wrinkle Injection. It's just a makeup primer. I like it better than Monistat chafing relief gel, but not enough to justify the difference in cost, so I'll be sticking with the Monistat.

I got the same set from Beautycrunch. I wonder if the mascara is really old. With my first Lash Injection, I noticed that when I got toward the end of the tube it would flake really bad and was really dry. I just started my beautycrunch Lash Injection a couple days ago and it's OK, but I wonder how long it will stay nice. Since there are no returns, I will use it till it gets flaky but I don't think I'll be ordering from breautycrunch again. I like the wrinkle injection a lot and swapped the lip injection to Cathryn for some stila lipglosses. So I feel I got my twenty dollars worth out of the set.

Speaking of Lash Injection, I was at Ulta today to pick up my two free bottles of OPI (got Argenteeny Pinkini and Dulce de Leche), and saw that they had the Too Faced Mascara Layering Kit back in stock! I got a full sized Lash Injection, with a small size Pinpoint mascara for $20.

On my wishlist now is two items from Too Faced. I want the Candlelight Absolutely Invisable Powder, and the Natural Eye Kit. I need to behave though. I'm thinking of getting a new (new to me anyway) car.

Ok so I finally got my hair cut and then my hubby and I did the Liquid Keratin product yesterday. You dont notice any difference until you flat iron it then WOW it is totally different. Now I dont get to wash it until tomorrow night so I wont know the full impact of if it works or not until Tuesday and I will write again if it holds up to my liking or not.

The tube is the shadow primer that I initially went there to buy in the 1st place! The shadow *is* awfully nice. It's supposed to be infused with the shadow insurance primer - and it lasts. It really does. Nice set. I'd buy it again.

The vertical scissors gives it a more textured look, that doesnt look so blunt - AND you are removing much less at a time.

This is the method I also use on thin haired girls instead of a razor, to texture. :)

Yeah - my lips are still pretty ticked at you about that swap. OOWWEEEE! Good lord. I should just take a jabenero pepper and smear it on my lips.

Good to know they have that set, again. I loved that one. Guess where I gotta go tomorow. :rolleyes1

Buxum Lip Gloss - I'm not sold on this product. The color is pretty and I like the shine, but I don't think my lips are any plumper while wearing it. I really can't tell a difference between this $18 gloss and my $4 lip gloss. Maybe my lips are just not sensitive enough to whatever the ingredient is that swells your lips....

Think that's it.... Like I said before, my next purchase will be a quality eye shadow. I just don't know what color to go with or brand? I have very dark brown eyes (almost black).... what would you all suggest for eye color?

I wish you'd try the Lip Fusion. I didn't think Buxom worked that well, either - but I'm seriously addicted to Lip Fusion. At $25-$38 a pop - it's an expensive addiction, but I truly have found my holy grail glosses.

Are you near a Sephora? Try one out. Really load it on your lips, and walk around the mall with it, and see what you think. ALSO - Sephora will return used products, so try it a couple weeks.

I've found it has increased my lip size with continued use, as well. The stuff rocks my world.

If it were me, with really brown eyes, I'd be using taupey's. Warm yummy taupes, and creams, and chocolates. You'd like that set I bought from Too Faced. :thumbsup2

Hey all, I'm hoping somebody in this thread can give me some advice.

I have some pretty heavy acne scarring on parts of my face that is easily covered by foundation in regular weather, but I'm worried that the kind I use currently (Neutrogena) will simply melt off down in the hot Florida sun. That and I don't really love the feel of liquid foundation in hot weather. I'm thinking of buying some type of mineral foundation but I'm doubtful that it'll suffice to cover my scars.

Anybody have any tips for covering acne scars? :confused3

ChelMarie - I'm no expert, but I've been in your shoes (still am to some extent too :sad1:). The product I've had the best luck with - in heat, cold, rain, whatever - is Dermablend. That stuff will cover anything. It is available at Macys, JCP, etc. and is not terribly expensive.

I also heard that Kat Von D's new coverup is great, but with my sensitive skin, I won't try it for fear of a mega breakout (which I did get with the mineral foundation from BE as well).

Hope this helps a tad.

 Don't say I didn't warn you! Who was it that said it was like getting smacked in the lips with a baseball bat?

OK, I'm sold. I'll have to give lip fusion a try. I see it at my Ulta. I'll have to get it with the college ID discount (first Tues of every Month for those with college IDs!).

I painted my nails with the Argentini Pinkini today. Very pretty!

Loving this thread which I just found!

I have two questions and two tips...

Does anyone use MAC tinted moisturizer? I want to try some for outside events but I need some coverage - lots of colors on this face in the morning that aren't good :)

Anyone have good stay on lipstick that doesn't dry?

Tips...

I use MAC paints in untitled as an eyeshadow base. I only use MAC eyeshadows over it but it stays on forever. Perfect eyes after 14 hours and I am always hot and sweat from my head.

I have also recently discovered MAC Liquidlast liner. I was using fluidline but tried this and love it - it does not come off. No smudging, no flaking and my eyes run a ton from allergies. I have to take it off with eye makeup remover. I take the rest of the eye makeup off with makeup wipes and the liner is still intact...

Hi! Welcome!

Have you tried using a primer (the monistat works great!) With a mineral makeup ( I personally like www.everdayminerals.com - intensive and/or matte for humid florida)

You can try it before you go. EverydayMinerals has really generous samples they'll send you for only shipping....$4. And I find that mineral makeup stays on much, much better than liquid in humidity.

Order a sample, turn your shower on hot and sit in the bathroom and read a magazine and see how it works for you and report back to us. :)

I just found out the Urban Decay has come back with there Book of Shadows if any one is interested.:flower3: Also if you are signed up for there newsletter they are getting ready to send out codes for the friends and family sale!! :lovestruc

Here's a picture of the Book of Shadows.

Kat Von D's coverup IS great but if the choices don't match your skin tone you're out of luck. It was TERRIBLE on me, I think there was more of a yellow tone to it than my skin had so it looked more like creepy plastic doll skinn (that didn't match my skin tone). You can check out all of the shades at Sephora & see if one works for you.

Question- Does anyone use the Rareminerals nighttime treatment? I have a sample that I've been using for the past 5 nights & I'm torn. First thing in the morning after a night with this stuff my pores are so big that they look like craters :scared1:! But once I wash my face & tone...pouf, they're gone. Anyone been using this stuff long term? AM crater pores aside it seems to be helping to even out my skin tone & urging those pesky milia up & on their way.

Does anyone know where you can find the old version of OPI My Private Jet? Trade Secret has the newer version, but I think the old version is better.

:headache: I am so not happy with the results of BE (I think that is the brand of it, I got it off of Sephora.com) I swear everytime I wear it you can totally see my pores :sad2:
What on earth am I doing wrong? :confused3
