For some reason Saturday seems to be my most difficult day. I think well I worked all week I need to reward myself ...funny thing is I am off in the summer....so why am I rewarding myself?

For all of the other hard work you do everyday of the year. Really true if you have children. I know I told myself when I had my DD that, I will provide her with as much stuff as possible, but I was not going to be like my mother and not provide for myself. I like providing for myself some makeup and clothes occasionally. Thankfully I have a DH that feels the same way and we are on the same page. :goodvibes

I hate to bring it up, but I've seen it mentioned so many times on here. QVC is having a Girls Day today and they have a good deal on the Clarisonic. :rolleyes1 It is on 6 easy payments of like $30 bucks. It is so, so, so tempting, but I'm going to resist and add it to my Christmas list. (At least that is the plan ).

Hi gals!
I feel like I've been away forever! I've just been busy with work and never home--but NOW I have a new phone that I get better Internet on...and I can post from it! So hopefully I can chat with you again.
Hope everyone is well!

I just finished a musical and wore theatrical makeup that clogged my pores something terrible! I have never had that problem before. Going to have to find a better cleanser, I think. Any recommendations?

I really like Philosophy's Purity. (From what I understand it is similar to Cetaphil, but I've never used it so I can't say for sure.) I also like using the Microdelivery exfoliating wash also. I have had problem skin for years and switching to mineral makeup really helped, but also starting to use these cleaners have made the world of difference. I actually can go without makeup and not feel totally bad about it.

Also, I've read really good stuff about the Clarisonic and how it makes any cleanser work even better. I'm really tempted with the QVC deal they have today, but I'm trying to resist.

Thanks-I will have to look into those. I have never had such acne problems, even as a kid! Frustrating when your face has to look good.

Purity is the same as Cetephyl only Cetephyl is considerably cheaper and has no scent so it will not irritate if that sort of thing bothers you. I have the Philosophy Microderbabrasion Kit and and it is very good. Inbetween I use the Cetyphil and baking soda which the woman at the Philosophy counter also said works well. As I said she was truthful so I spent 165.00...God knows what I would have spent if I felt she lied to me! LOL

Confession time...now I know I said I was not going to buy make up for two weeks and I made it a week but had to go to Freeport Me with my husband for boat shoes. Well we walked by the Company Store(I think those dam stores are following me every place I go) I NEEDED to get a dark brown eyeshadow to fill in a spot on my eyebrow that got waxed too thinly so I went in and then I got a Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in dk brown but then...I got a Mac ES in Carbon and a RED MAC Nail Laquer (I KNOW I got all the ULTA s and I love them ). I KNOW I KNOW I SWEAR I am not getting another thing. Oh, I forgot I got a L'oreal true blend foundation because of my tan. I don't count that because I got it at Wal Mart so it is not really like good make up. LOL HOnestly I have no excuses I am an addict. What the heck do you think MAC stands for ,MAKE-UP ADDDICTS COSMETICS.

Thanks!

I have been rather good myself lately; I have only bought false eyelashes and adhesive, and only because I had to have them for the show. But since school will be starting again soon I will be taking a trip to Sephora once I come back from WDW. I really will try to get just what i need and avoid going down the mall to MAC :)

x dri is the name and it was not capitalized that is why I guess you might be confused. It is in the Ulta polish section and while clear it has a slight blue tint. They do not have it on the website that I could see when I checked it out a few days ago but they have it in the store.

ETA I see you live in Ma there are a couple of Ultas in MA one I know of is in Everett also Natick, South Attleboro and Plymoth

I don't know how I missed this  but thank you for the clarification. I am probably closest to the Ulta in Attleboro. I actually saw it for the first time a few weeks ago but didn't go inside. Where is the one in Natick though?? I know where the Sephora is and visit it frequently but never knew there was a Ulta!! :)

I will visit them soon to find this x dri. Thanks again. :)

I do not know where the one in Natick is but I am betting it is in one of those shopping centers along rte 9. I could be wrong 'cause one thing I DON"T need is another make up store to go to !:rotfl: if you go to www.ulta.com and sign up you can get some sort of a points card like sephora has. Then you can get freebies. I know I said earlier in this thread that I HATE the ULTA near me because the people are less than helpful but really, I just have to make due. LOL

I just joined the reward program, thanks! I also looked to see where the one in Natick is and it's in Sherwood Plaza, across from the Natick Mall (collection). I'll be checking that out the next time I'm in Natick. :thumbsup2

Hello ladies! I got my Ulta rewards certificate today. I earned a level 4 of rewards. I think I'm going to get two free bottles of OPI(ate). :dance3:

Cathryn, you said you were looking for a neon peach nail color? I kept forgetting to mention that I saw a bottle of OPI: Shootout at the OK Coral that looked like what you described. Did you see it? I think that is what you are looking for. The display even said that it was originally sold in the 80's.

And speaking of OPI, I just looked on their website and saw their new line for fall, "espana" :lovestruc

don't forget if you want to get the OPI(ate) for 435 per bottle and you do not have another way to find it discounted go to www.transdesigns.com shipping is not all that much but I try to buy enough so that if I divide it out it comes to 50c a bottle for shipping because as you all know, I will find any excuse to "save" money on make up etc.:lmao:

So I cut my nails way down and got a color for my trip to the lake. Cat aren't you proud. Now I kinda like them short. It's easier at work! So I'm looking for a new color. This time I did kind of a boring one. It was Japanese Garden or something like that. I was afraid to go too bright. I'm thinking a little more purple this time. Maybe Kinky in Helsinky. What do you think?

I clicked on that link the first time you mentioned it on this thread, and then again just now, but what I get is not a makeup or nail polish site. :confused3

Belieeeeve me, I do not need to spend any more money on nail polish. There is no way on earth I am going to use up all these colors before they go bad. But I don't see anything else on the rewards list that I want except some polish. One of these days I will have to yank out a couple bottles that I never use and list them for anyone who would be interested in a swap. :flower3:

I am sorry I do this every time it is not transdesignS it is www.transdesign.com for some reason I always make it plural.

That's not it. Thanks though. I actually have that one, still.

It's much lighter, and creamy (no shimmer) and seriously, if you think of faded neon cone - when it's that pinky-orangey neoness.... that's what it's like. I'll never find it again. :(

I dont know what is wrong with me. I went to Sephora JUST FOR TOO FACED Shadow Insurance. That is all I needed. And after the count of 90 something eye shadows, it's absolutely ALL I NEEDED. $17 - in and out the door.

Until I got there....

And they had a Shadow Insurance with a palette of 6 amazing colors - 2 of which I will barely use, I already know (the clue and green) for $35. Just a few bucks more, right?

Hello ladies! I've been away for a while so just checking in!

Thought I'd give a little review of some of the products I've tried from this thread.

Monistat Chafing Gel - Love this product! Works EXACTLY like the expensive primer I was buying at a fraction of the cost. Bought the 3-pack from Amazon so it should last a while. :) However, it doesn't seem to work very well on my eyelids as a primer.... my eye shadow still fades and gets stuck in the crease after an hour, but that's most likely because I use cheap eye shadow! That's the next thing on my "to buy" list!

Stila Smudgepot - Whoever recommended this eye liner to me, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! It's GREAT! It really does last ALL DAY LONG!! I'm still playing around with the two different style brushes - haven't made up my mind which I like better - and the colors. I've tried the bronze (very pretty with the gold shimmer to it) and now I've moved onto the silver/gray. Once my hand is a little more steady, I'll try the black for a little more drama. :)

Buxum Lip Gloss - I'm not sold on this product. The color is pretty and I like the shine, but I don't think my lips are any plumper while wearing it. I really can't tell a difference between this $18 gloss and my $4 lip gloss. Maybe my lips are just not sensitive enough to whatever the ingredient is that swells your lips....

No-No Hair Remover - I was a little skeptical about this product, especially because of the cost, but with the 60-day return window at Sephora, I decided to try it without risk. I really do like this product. Does take some time getting used to it (especially the burning smell... little scary). But I've noticed a big change in the feel of my legs. I'm still shaving just as often (for now), but my legs are now silky smooth for a couple of days (!); whereas before, I always had a little stubble even right after shaving due to very thick/coarse hair. I've been doing my legs and arms. Will move onto my bikini area when I'm a little more practiced, LOL.

Think that's it.... Like I said before, my next purchase will be a quality eye shadow. I just don't know what color to go with or brand? I have very dark brown eyes (almost black).... what would you all suggest for eye color?

welcome to my world! I went to Ulta for some polish remover pads to take to WDW and then 45.00 later...I got a brush and some hair stuff from Waren Tricomi that is supposed to "actually turn your blow drier into a tretment for your hair"...Yeah I fell for it.

So I got my hair cut and had it angled. It looked great when I left the salon and then I wash and dry it and one side is longer. Now I KNOW he spent a huge amount of time checking and cutting and checking again. This seems to happen every time I go. I watch him measure under my chin the whole nine yards. Well so being the impulsive idiot that I am i grab a scissors and fix it. Now one side is slightly shorter than the other but with the type of cut it is it is not a problem. See this is just another example of my impulsivity! That and the constant make up purchases.

Do you have dark brown/black hair too? We must have the same coloring. I use purples, grays, and I have been using some deep mustardy tan in the crease another Mac Pallet. I use MAC and Stila. You have the same eye shape as me also. I got a MAC pallet which is coordinted with all the colors of from dark to light. Pale pink over the lid to the brow(does not show pink) as a base lighter gray purple on lid, dark on edge(check out Gosssmakeup artist for the application of it). I use the brown stila liner but very very close to my lashes and then mascara. In the v on the side of your eye I use a tiny and I mean tiny bit of MaC carbon it defins and makes deep set eyes pop. Really all I do is put a tiny vee and then blend it. Now bear with me here, I got the idea from youtube lanaindiana..she is a nut and would not wear my make up as extremely as she does but the little black really works.

Stila smudge pot brush... get the thin angled brush at ULTA when it is on sale bogo it works great on the eyeliner.

Blahhhh! Dont cut it. You should have called him.

If you (or anyone) is in this predicament - a handy tip: Dont just CUT it (straight across, with the shears opposite your hair... like this - hair up and down - shears across: +)

Chip into it. With the shears the same as your hair (so hard to describe) but take your section and holding your hair, take your shears and go into in, the same direction.

hair ----> |
shears -> ^

Does that make sense? You wont get as harsh a line, and you can kinda gauge what you're doing as you go along, much easier.

It's good for bangs, too.

Too late!! It is not bad because I did it at an angle. I will use your method next time. I usually chip into it but I just cannot figure out why this happens. I even told MR. Playgirl Model and he really did take huge pains to make it even! I don't know.

New topic...Anyone use LiLash? It is supposed to make your lashes grow longer and some of the people on YouTube use it and it seems to work. I am temped you do not need a prescription BUT I am afraid it is one of those habit forming things and my lashes will fall out when I stop.
